I was a bit hesitant to join as I felt the full series was a big commitment. Quickly after I joined, I ended up looking forward to being in class every week. Now I couldn't be happier that I went for it, and thankful for my friend suggesting it! Jasmine was the main instructor. She guided us with such passion and expertise, occasionally supported by Nicole. Together, they created an environment where I felt encouraged and challenged at all times. You can really see not only how much knowledge and skill they have, but also how much love they pour into what they do. This course has done wonders for my confidence on the dance floor. When I first started, I was nervous about dancing at socials (and clueless on how to do so), but by the end of the program, I have been able to dance through full songs without fear and very little hesitation. There's so much to learn still, but woah! This is a strong beginning. Plus, Dancer University provides a 2 hour space for all students from different courses/all levels to get together and practice on the weekend. It was SO helpful to build up confidence while dancing at socials was still too intimidating. Their logistics team is great too and will help accommodate you for a different class, if anything comes up and you can't make it to your usual class. That was a huge plus! Only thing I didn't like.. was I didn't want the series to end! Which means DU will continue to see more of me. Looking forward to it! Thank you all for an incredible experience learning and dancing with you. I loved every second of it!

They explain everything in detail and give attention to every student. They're always ready to help and guide you if something doesn't work out. The atmosphere in the classes is very positive and friendly - it feels like you're part of a big dance family The studio itself has several dance rooms. They are always clean, cozy, well-ventilated, equipped with air conditioning, and have large mirrors, which is very important for dance practice. The receptionist is also very pleasant, positive, and friendly. I was absolutely delighted with my experience at this studio and would happily recommend it to my friends who love dancing.

In fact, her curriculum is a twelve-year program that includes elements of Russian & English ballet traditions with a focus on the George Balanchine technique and style. My friend's daughter is enrolled here, and she loves these classes. They've also helped with her self-esteem. I came with my friend to drop her daughter off for class. We watched the session from the window for a bit before wandering around the area. I used to take tap dance lessons when I was a kid. I wish I had continued them. If you are looking for a reputable dance studio, give this place a try. They also offer summer sessions.

YOUR SEARCH FOR A BALLET SCHOOL IS OVER. WELCOME TO BLISS. YOU HAVE FINALLY ARRIVED…read more We have searched far and wide for a ballet school and have come to the conclusion that Natalie and Ballet Conservatory West possesses the rare qualities that so many other ballet schools lack. Natalie takes the time to lay a solid foundation with proper technique and movement. Individual attention is given to each student with a focus on their unique body type, strength, and abilities. Natalie's knowledge about dance, anatomy, movement, musculature and other related areas are impressive. She leverages all of these to ensure that dancers are in proper alignment so they don't hurt themselves. She offers tenderness and grace in her instruction and builds rapport with each ballerina. She provides equitable treatment of each student, regardless of whether or not they aspire to be a professional ballerina. And personally speaking, one of the things I love most about Natalie is her personal charm and inner beauty. The tender, loving way that she engages and connects with children makes me melt. Secretly, I love sitting outside of their open-door classes, closing my eyes, and just listening...

This was our first time there. The staff, including the security, the lady who checked us in and called herself "the lowest person on the totem pole" (I'm so sorry I don't remember your name), teachers/director (especially the director), parents of academy members all were kind and made us feel welcome. Our sons first love is dancing. He is also a very sensitive 9 year old. Loud noises and new situations make him nervous. He melted... The staff couldn't have been better at guiding him through his first audition. We were ready to let him quit and walking out the door when a parent came out and convnced us to stay. Once staff saw what was happending they all were amazing at calming and doing what they could to make him comfortable. They allowed him to sit and watch, which turned into him getting enough confidence to finally stand and perform. Thank you. ** Don't let the low rating fool you. Dig deeper. Her dance academy is no exception. I called to request a tour and the most gracious lady, Ms Jackie, answered. Although there weren't any tours she recommended me I stop by. I was overjoyed. Although Ms Debbie wasn't on the premises, you could really feel the love and creativity afloat. It's a large well decorated academy with gorgeous art throughout. There were classes in session, so I stayed in the main entry and took photos. Although the cherry on the top would have been catching a glimpse of Ms Debbie, this still was an awesome visit.

She makes sure you get the moves while also keeping the environment supportive, comfortable, and celebratory. I love when she gets so excited that she literally starts screaming because someone in class is going off. She celebrates people constantly, by name or even just noticing something they're rocking like, "Yes, GREEN JUMPSUIT!" Being the only guy in the class, I've never once felt isolated, judged, or uncomfortable about assumptions people might make about me. I've only ever felt celebrated. It was refreshing not having to navigate that in a public place. She encourages fluidity in whatever way feels right for you, whether it's super masc, super feminine, or somewhere in between. Her focus is helping you connect to your artistic dance spirit, and that's when you know you're doing it right. She also celebrates neurodiversity and really focuses on what the strengths are within that, while also helping people navigate certain challenges. Karma's class is more than just learning choreography. Watching her dance is witnessing powerful, raw, and inspiring artistry. When she demos, it honestly feels like a mini performance during class. Then when she dances with us right after, you feel like this epic backup dancer, and it inspires new moves and articulations within you. There's also a strong sense of community in Karma's class. She's built a culture where you not only bring self-love to the class, but appreciation and love for the people dancing alongside you. Someone might be doing a twerk, an offbeat wild move on their chair, or some epic crawl across the floor, and the whole class erupts with roaring encouragement. Karma encourages asking questions about the dance moves and routines. She absolutely loves them. But remember, she's an A-type personality, so be sure to raise your hand. ; ] She's also a motivational instructor because she's real. She doesn't say generic things. Sometimes she shares philosophies or lessons that helped her in life, and I've caught myself thinking, "How is this level of Impacting dialogue happening in a chair dance class?" It's a one-of-a-kind experience that involves a chair, saucy moves, and surprising moments of human-centered community, full of loving people hosted by the radiant Karma!

I also appreciated her focus on hip hop fundamentals like popping and waving as part of our warmup. While I enjoyed the class, I think it would have been intimidating if it was my first time setting foot in a dance studio. I would encourage the front desk employees to greet first time visitors and give them a brief rundown of the space, where to place your belongings, what to expect from class, etc. A lot of the people in the class seemed to know each other already which just shows you how popular these classes are. I hope to return soon!

I know dancers who have learned from her and they all have been very happy and well-trained. Her performances that she creates have been nothing short of brilliant. Erin has a passion for her work. This review is based on our experience in Ms. Alexis' Primary A/B ballet class…read more Firstly, I want to give Ms. Alexis a 5 star rating on how well she works with young girls. She was able to magically sweep my 5-year-old daughter away into a fairytale land where she imagined all of her favorite things and learned proper ballet techniques, strengthened and stretched her body, and had fun dancing with her friends. She loved it so much, we wished it was more than once a week and didn't stop for summer break. Something I would like to see more of is the teaching of short dance routines after all of the typical exercises they do. One thing that many of the parents were dissatisfied with was how often there was a substitute teacher, and the general lack of communication there was regarding class schedules and offerings from the office. I hope this review will help you in deciding which program to put your child in, and will provide the school some insite into our experience. We're looking forward to returning for the upcoming fall session!
