The staff are so tuned into the dogs! Jax loves going there! It's just the right size so they always know what each dog is doing during the day. We've been bringing our dog to Doggie Den for over 5 years now. She loves it - she cries with excitement in the car as we drive near and sometimes it seems like she doesn't want to come home! Back before Covid shut down our offices, she went every day for daycare and boarded when we traveled. We didn't travel in 2020, but she boarded when I was in the hospital. It really means to me that I could relax knowing she was happy, safe, and well cared-for. I have had friends who have had negative experiences with dog sitters, Rover, etc., and I'm thankful that we always know she is secure & loved. My wife and I adopted a dog from our Aunt recently. She is older, and needs looking after during the day while we both work. After finding this place online, everything looked great. I called and talked to a very nice woman about the process. She said to get online, fill out all the paperwork, and have all vet records. I asked if the dog had to have a meet and greet first, but she said the first day was essentially an evaluation/meet and greet. My wife then takes our dog in the next day (this morning, as I'm writing this), and was greeted by a male worker who was extremely rude to her. Though she said it her first day there, and that I talked to someone the day before, he rudely asked who I talked to, and quickly glanced at all the paperwork asking about the fecal samples. My wife told him the results were negative, and he rudely said that he would take "the dog" anyway (even asking what the dog's name was a couple of times). My wife was disgusted by his unprofessional behavior, asked for the paperwork back, and said she won't be dropping the dog off after all. Very rude staff!!! read more

IF YOU HAVE CERTAIN CARE INSTRUCTIONS DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE. As boxers are extremely hyper and over playful, I left my boxer Tyson for his trial day care to see how he would be in this environment. I pre warned the staff that my dog is a non stop player and may need to be separated to calm down. Tyson came home extremely happy and was exhausted as to be expected. The staff said he played well with all dogs, but was extremely hyper and never stopped playing. I noticed deep red teeth marks and missing fur on his neck from playing roughly that the staff member also acknowledged with me and confirmed to be something she did see. This, to me, is natural and normal for large dogs to get carried away. Following this, when I then brought Tyson back for the weekend boarding stay, I gave the staff a reminder of his neck being mildly chewed on and asked them to please seperate him should he get to be too much, to avoid him pushing another dogs buttons and getting carried away. The staff member seemed to agree and said they would. When I picked Tyson up he had scabs ALL over his neck where I can see teeth marks indenting which clearly drew blood for them to be scabs all over his neck. This is NOT normal or standard play. Tyson has played many times with dogs bigger than him and get extremely rough, yet has never had another dog draw blood from him. When I asked the gentleman if he had at any point separated Tyson, he said not at any point was he seperated and seemed confused that o even asked. He was obviously not informed of this request And the lack of communication is concerning. Tyson also came out of the door with a horrible dry wheezing cough that the man said started on his third day there. He also advised me to take my dog to the vet because he himself was worried. It has been 24 hours and the cough has gotten worse, I will be taking my dog to the vet. My biggest concern is that my request was not communicated to anybody and obviously wasn't followed through with. At no point should other dogs begin to draw blood from my dog, especially enough to leave marks lasting longer than 48 hours. Especially when I have requested THREE DIFFERENT TIMES for him to be separated for his safety. I will not be bringing Tyson back to doggie den. I do not want my dog being treated as another 1/20 dogs being loosely watched and coming home scathed. read more

We have only used them for daycare but would use them for boarding if/when the time comes. Pros: friendly staff who cares about the dogs, not a very large daycare so not overpowered by dogs, reasonably priced, requires fecal with Giardia, has cameras that usually work, very loyal to regulars, accomodating, good hours, they always have someone with the dogs, daycare available 7 days a week Con: no lobby/check in desk A little backstory: I've been taking my dog Inanna here for a little over a year now. The first year she was there Monday-Friday. Now she is there about 2-3 days a week since my and my husbands work schedule changed at the beginning of the year. Inanna has been doing daycare since she was a puppy and has been socialized her whole life. She used to play with other dogs a lot more, but when she was attacked by another dog (at a different daycare prior to this one), she lost trust. I've been told she plays when the group of dogs gets smaller, but that's usually at the end of the day when I'm driving, so I never see it on camera. She's more of a one on one friend anyway. She has separation anxiety when she doesn't have a human with her, so she mainly goes there for the human interaction anyway. About the facility: I have not seen the inside of the facility except for what is on camera and I'm not sure if that's policy or due to COVID but you just call when you get there and they will come out to give or take your pup which is nice. The only downfall is if there is a line, you need to wait outside in line or you lose your place, but I think I prefer that over waiting in a cramped lobby with a bunch of excited dogs. Luckily, I enjoy the rain lol. They do have an outdoor area, which Inanna loves, but it's only used weather permitting. Dogs go potty inside, and it gets cleaned up pretty quickly. As for the staff: Everyone's pretty nice. The ones that have stuck out to me are Hannah (super sweet and caring, also fun to joke around with when there is time), Charles [kinda seems like a hard ass who doesn't like to waste time/energy. Not great at customer service (no offense Charles!), but he has warmed up to us, and he will crack an occasional smile], Bob (one of the owners is a super sweet guy. He always waits until Inanna and I are both in the car with the doors closed to make sure we're safe when I pick her up after dark before he goes back inside, very loyal to regulars and will take care of you if he can) and Aaron (always a friendly smile and Inanna is really comfortable around him. He talks to her the same way I do, which I love.) There are a few other faces I've met, and they are friendly, but I don't see them as often. PSA : if you take your dog to a boarding/daycare facility, you should just expect them to come home and smell like other dogs and yes, even urine. It comes with the territory. Get some waterless shampoo/dog spray to put on them when they get home in between baths. read more

So far so good! I haven't been able to be inside yet but my dog is always in great spirits when I pick him up. I really like that all you have to do is pull up at the front door and they come outside to get your dog or puppy from you. I suppose it's like a dog concierge service. I really enjoy Mike,the young man that works here. Mike has recorded a video to show me if my dog enjoying his time. I was a little worried about him the first day or so of Osiris going to doggy day care but now I am totally confident that he loves it. I also talked to a few of the other doggy parents and they all agree that this is a great place. A lot of them have been bringing their dogs here for years. Osiris is always super happy when I pick him up he's also happy when he sees Mike in the morning when he comes out to get him. I've spent about $30 for Osiris to be here for 8 to 10 hours, Which isnt Bad considering he's still a puppy and it's like watching a newborn baby . I would totally recommend this place. The owner is extremely rude and cold hearted, he seems like he is miserable and hates his life. Hopefully you never have the pleasure of meeting or talking to him. That carries over to how to treats the dogs. The girls who work their are sweet and seem to enjoy themselves and the dogs there but as for the owner...he's not someone I ever care to see again. My dog is a German Shorthair Pointer and is very hyper and active. I bought him here several times and the last time I tried to call in to see if there was room the owner said, "there's no room today and we don't have openings for about 3 weeks." Come to find out they did have openings the owner just didn't want my dog there because he doesn't just lay down and sleep all day. I called in again to reserve a few nights in advance so they couldn't tell me "we're full". At this time the girls told me that My dog and another dog don't get along and they need to make sure that dog isn't there those nights. They booked my days that I wanted and then called back a week later and left a message saying my dog isn't allowed back until he is neutered. My dog has no aggressions issues at all and is a sweet cuddle bug, they told us this because they know we don't plan on neutering him. It was never communicated to me that my dog had any sort of issues...ever. Every time we picked Duke up they said he was great... it irritates me that the face to face communication was nonexistent and they hide behind the phone to tell me this. I love this place and it appears that my wary recently rescued shihtzu does too! She's happy going in and coming out every time. It's such a relief to know that your dog is in good hands while you work rather than home alone in a pen, which is where she would otherwise be, all day. Two stars for physically answering the phone. My husband just got off the phone to inquire about weekend availabilty and the gentleman who answered was so rude, so surly, and extremely unhelpful. Didnt even try to feign interest at having us come in! Hard enough handing my dogs over to strangers; but now the likelihood of me coming here is zero. I have nothing but good things to say about this place, I took my dog Niko there for over two years 2-3 days per week and was very happy with his care. All the staff was very caring and helpful and avid dog lovers. Niko was always excited to go and would practically jump out of my arms to get to Bob or Charles the owners when I dropped him off. Kristy, Micheal and Hannah were also great and chatted with me pointing out who Niko's play buddies were. When I boarded him, Hannah sent me pictures of Niko cuddling up with her and it made me feel good to know he wouldn't be crated but would just sleep on the couch with a human there all night to make sure he's OK: I think some of these people who have given bad reviews gave bad reviews have dogs that are difficult and Bob likes to give every dog a chance and some don't work out. For example, large breed males that haven't been neutered! And as for smelling, well my dog Niko is a 10lb Chihuahua and it wasn't usually a problem. However, dogs in a pack will come home stinky sometimes. They're animals! For my money this a good place with good hard working people who know dogs and how to care for them. read more

I was looking around for prices of daytime and to board my two dogs overnight. I live right by The Doggie Den so I call them and it is answered by a very unprofessional sounding man. I ask what their hours were on Saturdays for doggie daycare. He tells me they aren't open for doggie daycare on Saturdays then asks in a very rude tone, "Who is this??" And I respond with, "Uhh my names Danielle... I'm calling to get prices for daycare...?" And he rudely states again that they aren't open Saturdays. So I say thank you and hang up. I look back online and see their Saturday hours and was blown away by the unprofessional way that employee handled my questions. I call back and ask to speak to a manager, it is the sane gentleman I just spoke with and I come to find out he's the owner! I start by saying that I felt very offended by the last conversation and I didn't appreciate being questioned like I was a hooligan prank calling him or something. He apologizes and says he thought I was one of his current customers... wtf? So you would speak to your current customers like that too? From what I've read on here, other people have come across the rudeness of staff. Maybe it is different in person rather than over the phone but I still didn't appreciate it. We've taken our dog to about 8 different day cares or boarding locations, and we really just chose Doggie Den because it was a better price than the places close to us, and I could board her when I go to the airport. What we happened upon was seemingly the best doggie day care ever. If we do move away soon, one of our biggest fears is that we'll never find a place quite like this one. Seriously. The best possible vote of confidence: When we go to pick up our dog, she doesn't want to leave. She is excited to see me, but then runs back to the couch and sits on it, as if to say "dad, why don't you come hang out here with me instead of taking me to our boring house?" I often actually feel bad taking her out of there, cause she is so happy. She plays rough and often came home scratched and bloody at other boarding places (which was a huge red flag), but we knew she's a sweet dog. At doggie den they really treat her well but also are able to keep her from getting too crazy. They take extremely good care of the pets and seem to care for her as much as I do. They know a lot about each dog and it's personality, and you can just tell they love these pets. Special bonus points for letting the pets roam free. They seem so happy. I'd have to address the comments that the staff isn't friendly--I really like the staff here. Maybe one could say they are better with dogs than with people, but they are very nice to me and even better to my dog. Bob, Charles and Hannah talk to me regularly and they genuinely seem to love having my dog come by (and seem really sad when she leaves). They are really good people and I trust them with her...and you should too. read more

I only brought my dog here once and that was for the assessment. As soon as I opened the door, the place smelled like urine and I was reluctant even leaving my dog here after talking to the staff member and seeing how the other dogs were separated and interacting. She was only there for about three hrs and when I picked her up she smelled like urine, they gave no feedback, and didn't even which dog was mine when I gave them her name. When I picked her up she seemed scared as well. I was not impressed. I currently use another doggy day care in Kent only a few miles away and at least they know my dogs name and she never stinks when I go pick her up. read more

The Doggie Den is a wonderful place. We have been to a few dog day-cares now and although they all had their good points, Doggie Den is great. Here's how I know for sure : My dog, Yoda, understands the words " Doggie Den " and is excited to hop in the car and GO on daycare days. Bob, Charles & Wendy treat him like I imagine they treat their own dogs. Yoda gets attention, affection and exercise ( when he isn't playing with other dogs, he follows Bob or Charles all over the place ) They are strict with their rules, diligent about enforcing them and the cleanest place in town. Yoda comes home tired , hungry and happy. There is a lot of room for the dogs to run around and play and plenty of cozy couches for the ones who prefer to watch or just need a break. They get fresh air without being exposed to the elements. The water is constantly monitored and was the first thing Yoda checked out in the dog park. He gives kisses when he gets there and kisses when he leaves. We have left Yoda overnight and aside from being tired when we pick him up, I know he was in the best of hands. I watch him occasionally on one of four cameras I can access online. That's a big peace of mind when I'm on vacation or just wanting to check in during the day. Overall, A+ . You'll understand once you stop by for a visit. Just make sure you have all the proper paperwork. There are no exceptions. And as much as that was a pain the first time we dropped in, now that Yoda is a regular, I wouldn't want it any other way ;) read more

Recently my work schedule changed, requiring me to find doggie daycare for Dixie, my 12-1/2-year-old Hound Dog. She has never wanted to play with other dogs, instead preferring to lounge and sleep all day on a soft surface. Since most doggie daycares are a hard surface, I checked out Doggie Den's free-roaming daycare with rubber floors and sofas at the suggestion of my vet, McMonigle Veterinary Hospital. Dogs can play - or not - which was perfect. Hannah and Bob were great and were diligent about helping give extra meds (and treats!) as Dixie's congestive heart failure progressed. I was even able to leave Dixie overnight knowing that she had one of her "people" nearby and could sleep on a sofa, just as she did at home. I took Dixie to daycare every day M-F until her recent death. The staff at Doggie Den's patience with my incontinent yet sweet dog and their compassion at the end was very special. Now I know why I've run into so many of my neighbors (and my vet!) dropping their dogs off at The Doggie Den for daycare and overnight stays! I highly recommend, whether your dog is active or a lounge lizard. read more

It has been a year now and I wanted to update my review! Snickers continues to love the den as well as myself and fiancé. I cannot stress enough how much of a life saver this place is. I can't count on my hands how many times I have referred this place. My biggest reason I take Snicks to the den is for the social interaction with both dogs and people. She is very fearful and shy to humans...but loves all of the DD workers. She does so much better now with dogs at the park too. Once she got very sick and Hanna brought her to our vet until I could arrive from work. THAT is the kind of care you want for your fur babies! We just moved into a home with a backyard. Even though snickers has room to play, we will continue to take the her in on our long work days. We have a new dog now Moose. We will definitely take him in as well. The DD is a great place to train and teach dogs and puppies how to behave and coexist with other dogs. A year later, we will continue to bring our dogs in without having to stress or worry about how they are being treated. We know everyone at the DD loves dogs and loves our Snicks and Moose! read more

The facility is nice. I like having access to their indoor park on Sundays, and my dog does always come home nice and tired. It's clear she plays a lot, and even though she often comes home with scratches, I'm not overly concerned because she can be a tough player, and gets as much as she gives. I'm not as much a fan of the employees there. We did have one gal who worked there who knew our dog, and anytime we picked her up, if this particular person was working, she'd let us know how our dog was. She left a few weeks ago, though, and none of the other employees there really know us or our dog - even though we've taken her weekly for over a year. A few weeks ago when I picked up my dog, one of the employees began talking with me. She said she really liked our dog - yay - and that she'd done well that day - another yay. But then this woman continued on, saying, "I know a lot of people here don't like it when your dog comes in. But I really like her. I think she's nice." Backhanded compliments are always awkward, but this was a bit more frustrating because clearly, my dog cannot fully articulate herself or her needs - which is why we take her in and hope that professionals will care for her. Last November, our dog was attacked, and since then has been more skittish around high-energy dogs. The employee who knew about this and made sure to take note of the dogs who came up to her when she first arrived is the same gal who left weeks ago. When I told this employee about the attack (which was at a park, not Doggie Den), she'd had no idea. There have been other times when my dog has had some intestinal issues, and when I've gone to pick her up and double-check to see if she's been pooping normally that day, they'll have absolutely no idea. The last day care we took my dog to is slightly out of our way, which was why we looked into Doggie Den in the first place. However, we've decided we're going to take our dog back to her old day care. If we're going to be paying over $500 for multi-day care, we want to make sure that our dog is being watched and cared for, not simply tolerated. read more

This was absolutely the worst place I have ever put my dogs. We did a one day daycare just to try it out. Both my dogs came home sick and sad I've never seen them this sad they smelt of urine and one of my dogs couldn't stop drinking because he had no water all day. We just started taking our dog here after losing her sister a month ago. I am overly concerned about the welfare of my dogs I just was not sure I could let her go like this for the day. However, after some research we settled on Doggie Den and even though our experience is short, we absolutely love them. I read one review that said the staff could be short or standoffish...I have never seen that. In fact, we first dropped in unexpected on a Saturday and we were provided with a full tour and explanation on how they introduce and manage the dogs. The doggie web cams are awesome too! I sit around work and check in on her all throughout the day. In the evenings you can see they thoroughly clean the rooms too which is nice! Highly recommend to anyone with a nice and social dog! read more

It's been a few years since my first review of The Doggie Den so I thought I'd update. We now have 2 Boston Terriers and they both love going to the Den! I appreciate that the staff communicates any updates or concerns and is as accommodating as they can be. I once got stuck in bad traffic on my commute from Downtown Seattle and was running much later than the normal pickup deadline of 6pm and let them know my ETA as soon as I knew I was going to be late and they were understanding. I know many places could charge a hefty late pickup fee but the fact that they didn't is indicative of the type of business they are and relationships they have with their clients. Our GSP puppy loves it here. The staff is absolutely fantastic with the animals. They are constantly interacting with the dogs throughout the day. We love hearing the little stories that they occasionally tell us about what she did. The staff always ensure that the play does not get too rough, which makes us feel better. We also really appreciate the safe approach they have with multiple door entry and exit, so no one can slip out! Would absolutely recommend to anyone with dogs. Husband and I have crazy schedules that change on a minutes notice, and the crew here is so kind in dealing with our last minute changes. Hannah, Charles, and Bob are the best! Our dog, Savvy, loves to visit them. I can tell her in the morning that she's going to daycare and she literally runs for her leash to go. I can't believe someone had a bad experience with the staff here. They are kind and thoughtful, and genuinely care for and love your dog. If you are looking for daycare, seriously, go in and see the place. Meet the staff. You can watch them interact with the dogs and just know that your fur baby is in good hands. Hi, my name is Bear. I've been coming to the doggie den for what seems like for ever! I first came here so i could play in the doggie park without getting wet. It's always fun because there is always other dogs to play with and the people there are nice and keep an eye on me. My dad dropped me off at doggie daycare because he had stuff to do. That is great too, Uncle Bob who owns the Doggie Den and Wendy make sure we have fun and are good and tired when I leave. They don't even get mad when I have an accident because I'm playing so hard. They just clean it up and let us have fun. Once I spent 4 nights here when my dad went out of town and Uncle Charles stayed with me so I wouldn't be lonesome. Dad says that the reason the Doggie Den is so great is because the employees really love dogs. So glad we found them!!! read more

We love the Doggie Den!! It's a great facility with three separate sections for different sized dogs. This allows dogs of all sizes to have fun with and be comfortable around other dogs their size. The facility is also very clean! They clean up after the dogs right away and use animal safe sanitary spray. They also have a cleaning crew that comes in at night to clean. The staff are very friendly and you can tell they love their dogs! After coming only once to the facility, Hannah and Bob already knew my name, my fiances name and our puppy's name! That's wonderful service. The other day cares in the area kennel the dogs for part of the day and this daycare never kennels your dog! The dogs are free to play with the other dogs in an open space all day. They also have access to water whenever they need it. I would recommend this daycare to anyone in town! read more

I have a totally different dog when I get home after Levi has been at The Doggie Den. He's calm and enjoyable. Better than a two hour walk for an 11 month old Golden/Lab. He loves to go visit with his friends and they take great care in the treatment of all the dogs there. As well as they know each dog's name which I find amazing. They are true dog lovers and I'm glad I was able to find a place to take Levi where I know they have his best interest in taking care of him while I'm at work. read more

They are great, they love what they do. This group is not in it for the money. My dogs have not liked some of the other daycares I have sent them. I was referred by a coworker who is a Doggie Den customer. I'm so glad we found this place! Our dog has been going there since he was 8 months old and LOVES it. Being able to watch him on the cameras during the day is a plus. He's played so hard by the time I pick him up that he just eats his dinner and naps the rest of the night. The folks at Doggie Den are great with the dogs. You can tell the dogs are kept happy. My dog gets super excited every time I take him there. I love this place, but more importantly my blond lab mix puppy named Kenya couldn't be more excited to visit her friends here. Daycare or boarding, she perks up as soon as we get near. No crates in sight, mat floors and a few sofas are the standard decor absent of any dirty dog or potty smells. There are two large enclosed areas separated to group dogs of similar temperament with access to an outdoor area with a small patch of grass. Not only does she love visiting Bob, Hannah and the other puppies, but we feel good knowing that she is safe, well taken care of, and loved by the people here (as cheesy as that may sound). I also want to say that we have researched and actually tried taking her to 4 doggie daycares in the Seattle area, and out pup has come home with her face practically chewed off (from the most high end webcam streaming daycare) and has shown signs of reluctance to go back to others. Thus, we have been making the drive (over 45 minutes south of our house) to bring Kenya somewhere that will give us peace of mind. read more

Doggie Den is the best daycare my dog Sophie has a blast there. I have to carry her out to the car at the end of the day, she's that tired. Staff is wonderful and treats all the dogs like their own.Thanks Doggie Den you are great. read more
