I explained everything in detail to the intake staff -- including the fact that I had experienced sudden, sharp back and pelvic pain while flying, followed by bleeding and ovary pain. However, the provider (Dr. Okun) ignored all of this. The first thing she said to me was, "I heard you admitted you don't exercise," which had nothing to do with why I was there. The pelvic exam was so painful it left me in tears. No imaging was ordered. She quickly concluded that the pain was "muscular" and told me to follow up with my primary care provider. I left feeling completely dismissed and unheard. Years ago, I had sought care at this same clinic (with Dr. Eunice Baca) for similar symptoms and was repeatedly tested for STIs -- despite negative results -- while my actual condition was ignored. It was only after leaving this clinic and seeking care elsewhere that I was finally diagnosed with PCOS and endometriosis through exploratory surgery. If you are dealing with chronic pelvic pain or gynecological symptoms, I strongly urge you to find a provider who listens, investigates thoroughly, and treats you with compassion. I do not recommend this clinic based on repeated negative experiences.

I have been using their services since moving to ABQ and have found staff to be very compassionate. They listen to you, any concerns that you may have and advise the different options/things that they can do to help you. Although my visits had been with different staff, I found them all to be very personable and have great bedside manner. There was no uncomfortable, awkward moments, despite some types of checkups that are needed for women's care at all. The only thing is...I think they are pretty short staffed. You arrive and check in...but you may have to wait a bit to actually get your name/check in done (because the front desk runs a bit late) or the staff may still be with their prior appointments. But otherwise, the quality of their staff, their services and the cleanliness of this facility made me feel pretty content with the services I receive there.

She wrote in my chart that I am an opioid addict and that she prescribed narcan (both of which are lies, and I am currently in contact with my PCP as well as waiting for calls back from every single board in New Mexico about Lauren. Not only have I ever taken an opioid pill (not even for my wisdom tooth removal), I told her straight out that I didn't want pills. She offered me ganglion shots or nothing, and then openly bold face lied about my drug usage. She also wrote that I have "treatment resistant anxiety" which is not true, I see multiple therapists weekly for my C/PTSD and anxiety, and if she were to actually read my chart then she would see that I have and always have had (since I've been going to my regular PCP at 9) a high heart rate with slightly elevated I would avoid Lauren at all costs, and that goes doubly for anyone who is immunocompromised; she refuses to mask and thinks she knows disabilities better than the people who have them. I would give her zero stars if I could. Absolutely the worst care I have ever received in my life. Before covid-19 killed my Mom and disabled me, she told me to never go to Lovelace because it was the worst hospital she'd ever been to. I should've listened, because not only was this a waste of time, but Lauren will be vindictive and lie openly about you in your chart. I will be taking drug tests to prove to my doctor that I take my gabapentin (for shingles post-herpetic neuropathy) as prescribed and the same with my Flexeril, both of which he was happy to prescribe me because this has been an ongoing issue since my first two covid infects in 2020. (Jan 2020 and then Oct. 2020). Lauren will make sure you don't get any care and she will do so gleefully.

On 6/14/24 I had an appointment with the technician listed above. I did not ask for this person, I was assigned to her after a difficult and dangerous stay I had at Rust Medical Center. You can read a review of that stay in another posting here on Yelp, and on Google reviews. Customers should be able to pick their providers after the medical group provides at least three possible candidates including a Bio, and a CV on each one. At that appointment I was complaining of UTI like symptoms and discoloration on the skin of my penis. She asked for a urine test for bacteria to rule out a UTI. The result was negative. In spite of this she prescribed Bactrim for me to take. She did not physically examine me. When I told her about the rash on my skin she referred me to dermatology. Presbyterian has no dermatology department, they contract with other businesses. In this case it was Southwest Dermatology. I left the appointment feeling confused and frustrated as though nothing had been resolved because there was no diagnosis on her part. The following Monday I contacted the Southwest Dermatology and they cheerfully gave me an appointment of OCTOBER 3, 2024! So now I am taking an antibiotic and waiting for a dermatology appointment three months away. By this time my symptoms had worsened. By 4 AM Tuesday I my skin was red blistered and swollen. I could not stand the pain any longer. I began driving from one Urgent Care to another. They were all closed. I returned home and tried to collect myself. After looking for urgent care centers on my phone, I found New Mexico Urgent Care and went to the location on Juan Tabo near Comanche. I talked with a male NP there. He asked if I was taking any medication, and I told him about the Bactrim. He said that it was not a good choice because taking antibiotics can induce a yeast infection and/or prolong it. He said, "I think you have balanitis". He then looked at my skin and prescribed two antifungal tablets one to be taken that evening, and if symptoms did not improve, take the other in 72 hours. I did not improve. I texted Sylejmani and asked her if I should take the other tablet. She said yes. As you can imagine, I was feeling conflicted, confused and angry. I was also in pain. Another two days passed and was not improving. On 6/20/24 I went to the new PresNow facility on Menaul near Pennsylvania. I got there at about 11 AM. There was only one person sitting in the waiting room. I was quickly admitted. I was taken to the back and placed in a chair surrounded by ill fitting curtains. I could easily see the woman to my left and she could see me. I could also hear almost everything being discussed around me. In all I was seen by three different people not including lab technicians. I was there a total of 2 hours and 35 minutes. The time I spent with various technicians could not have been more than 15 minutes. I left there feeling exhausted and frustrated. They told me that test results would be sent to Sylejmani. Another day passed and there was not improvement. I did not know what to do or who to turn to. I began searching online for answers as well as going to various health food stores looking for remedies. I was lost and upset. I then texted Sylejmani again telling here that I was having a lot of pain and I was not improving. She suggested going to an urgent care center or making another appoint with her or someone else at the San Mateo clinic. All of those appointment were out at least 3 weeks. Out of desperation I returned to New Mexico Urgent Care and another provider prescribed an antifungal ointment. The ointment seemed ineffective. I was at the end of my patience and feeling angry because the situation continued. Out of desperation I contacted an old dermatologist I had used in the past and begged for an appointment. I got one in a few days due to a cancellation. He looked at me and the various things I had been prescribed and just shook his head. He said, "That isn't going to work". He prescribed a tablet and two different ointments. It took about eight days, but at last I was beginning to improve. I am very disappointed in Presbyterian and in Gresa Sylejmani. I texted her to tell her so. She only said in her defense that I was mentioning new symptoms and that she was not able to evaluate me without another appointment. Well, we know what getting another appointment with her requires. And it is not as though I did not try to access her or one of her co-workers, or another facility. It is unconscionable for Presbyterian and its employees to prescribe without proper evaluation and examination. Also the wait times at all of these places is unacceptable if you are in pain.
