I strongly do not recommend taking your kids here for care. My son is 5 years old, and I have been bringing him here since he was born. His primary care doctor is Laura Abeyta at the Golf Course location. We have never had complaints regarding Dr. Abeyta, but after what recently happened to my son, it is not hard not to question the whole practice. On July 10th I took my son to the Holly location around 8:45pm; as he was having symptoms of diarrhea and vomiting. The provider he saw at the time was Rebecca Webb. I had given my son pain medication prior to the appointment so he seemed okay so only a physical exam was given but no further testing was done nor medication prescribed or recommended. The provider stated it could just be a stomach bug as something is going around, so we then proceeded to go home. My son and I were going to be traveling the next day so I was very persistent with letting them know we would be traveling, and I was scared my son would get worse on the way. The following morning my son woke up with a fever and had exploding diarrhea, I then called After Hour Pediatrics back to let them know my son's symptoms had worsened and I asked if they recommend, I take him in to be seen again? They stated he would be okay to just "let him go through it". I listened to them. I trusted them. As my son and I are traveling he is not doing good. We were traveling to Juarez and as soon as we made it in, I took him to a doctor, and they stated he was not well and needed to be taken to the hospital asap... We immediately crossed over to El Paso and took my son to the El Paso Children's Hospital Emergency room where he was immediately checked in and properly checked, come to find out that he had appendicitis (inflammation of the appendix, if ruptured you can die or cause complications). Unfortunately, my son's appendix did rupture which caused him to have more complications during his recovery. During recovery he absorbed an ileus (where your small intestine becomes paralyzed causing bowel obstruction). My son had to have 2 back-to-back surgeries; he was in ICU for 3 days... He was hospitalized for 10 days. Thankfully to God, powerful prayers from family and friends, and the amazing El Paso Children's Hospital Pediatric team my son is healthy and alive. I just wanted to share my story because my son could have died... I do not want any other parent or kid to go through what we went through... Had I not taken the extra step he would not be here. I put trust in After Hour Pediatrics and they let my son and I down. I am very disappointed with the way my son was not properly attended here. We will not be returning to any After Hour Pediatrics, although it may not have been all the providers fault but my son has had complications of constipation since he was a newborn, I never thought anything of it but now with finding out what my son had, could this have been prevented had Dr. Abeyta done more throughout testing during the constipation visits and maybe would have had the surgery done sooner? and the provider he saw that night, seemed like she wanted to go home as she did no testing, no labs, no ultrasounds and no medications were given, nothing was done besides an annual physical exam, if that, then the following morning another provider basically was trying to get me off the phone and did not properly advise me. It seems like the whole practice could learn something from this. Regardless I feel like this could have been prevented by After Hour Pediatrics had they properly diagnosed my son. Please never stop trusting your own gut and always stay fighting for your kid, be their advocate. read more

I took my daughter to get checked for earache six times and all these doctors are incompetent. Bad care. They are reusing​ disposable medical devices. They discriminate against children. Good riddance. read more

I do NOT recommend this place. I brought my 6month old multiple times because she had congestion and they did nothing recommended that I do saline. Second time they said it was the weather. 3rd time said it was daycare. We got tired of all this guessing and started thinking she was allergic to dogs so we took her in for an allergy test did over the phone appointmen, we got there and dr said she doesn't do that kind of testing so we were mad because of the waste of time Since we were there the dr asked what was going on so told her baby has been congestion for over 3 months now and devoloping more symptoms She said that my baby had the cold I said no because a cold doesn't last 3 months, she said it was the weather And that he wasn't going to be able to breathe good till she was bigger which I said no because other kids breathe just right so she said it was daycare I said no because we've removed daycare and congestion still there, then she said it was a virus that Goes away and then she catches a new one right away. I just said ok and left there. One week later I look for another doctor an found out my baby has pneumonia and could been cured from the beginning if these doctors would've done a chest x ray or just do their job, now my baby is at the hospital because she needs longterm treatmen. read more

Unbelievable issues with two aggressive hostile receptionists the front desk who shouted at a parent in front of her children. The parent asked to speak to management and the two continued to shout instead and became more argumentative with the parent. Of course, the employees denied their behavior. One m.a. ordered them to stop arguing with the parent. Management made no apologies and defended the "calm receptionist" This is the worst front desk and as you can see in the other comments, this is not the first incident. Untrained and poor customer service in a place that caters to children- appalling! You will not be treated with respect at this location. Also, know that in NM, medical assistants are not required to be certified, so they can be very uneducated and not the people you want injecting vaccinations to your children. Be informed - ask for certifications and demand respect advocate patient rights! read more

I don't know where these great 5 star experiences are coming from. I have a 6 mo old son, and we have had issues for EVERY single appointment since he was 2 weeks old. Being a first time mom, it is extremely stressful having to bend over backwards and accommodate to AHP just for his regular checkups. I always book his appointments ahead of time. Yet, for every single appointment he's had, something's come up where we either had to relocate to their Holly location and see a different doctor or had to reschedule completely STILL at the Holly location because our provider is literally never available at this location. Again, my son is 6 months old. How has he already seen 4 different doctors?! No parent wants their child to have to see someone new at each appointment and have absolutely no consistency. Also, you can only book appts 3 weeks ahead so you better do it fast or they're gone. If you plan on calling their office, be ready to be on hold for almost an hour trying to reach someone. read more

After Hours is simply the best. We recently came in for a 16 year old Well-Check for my teenager. We had been here several times before over the years. All good experiences, but I just wanted to give a shout out to Dr. Lucianna Trujillo. She is amazing. She's so personable and talks to my child like a young man who can learn to make healthy choices, both mentally and physically. Dr. Trujillo explained to my son that now that he had come into puberty, that this meant that he could theoretically become a father. She very briefly touched on birth control and its importance, then moved on with brain development in teenagers and that teenagers make mistakes. We all do and did. The first time is a mistake, but then after that, mistakes become choices because those mistakes can become excellent lessons. It's up to us to learn from them. Such great advice. Dr. Trujillo is thorough. She listens. She asks for questions, and she answers them with knowledge and incite. Unfortunately, I didn't get to have experience with her when my son was an adolescent because we lived in another state. But I can tell you that as an MD for teenagers, Dr. Trujillo is the bomb! This was our first time at After Hours. I made an appt for my 5 year old, chronic constipation. I was offered a same day appt at a different location that is further away, but my kid wasn't in pain and we had obligations. I felt that it was an important issue, but not acute. We got an appt the next day at Montgomery. My kid saw Jeff McCollum, CNP. My kid typically hides behind me from the doc. He becomes so stressed that he is hard to diagnose. He is typically very articulate and outgoing, but he doesn't respond to docs, becomes very anxious. Doc Jeff walked into the examination room, introduced himself, and my boy immediately started a conversation with him. Jack loves "Doc Jeff". It is wonderful when your kid "is himself" with a doc! Constipation, it's a very sensitive topic and my kid wasn't embarrassed as we discussed the issue... trust. Jeff McCollum's diagnoses was very clear. It is the first time that I have walked away feeling confident with advice about this issue. Follow up in a month. The appt was at 8:30 am. Shortly after opening in the morning. There was no wait, so no anticipation. The staff was very kind and no one talked to my kid in a "patronizing kid voice". My kid wants to go back. We are a military as well as a medical family meaning we have plenty of experience in a variety of clinics. We also have a medically complex child that needs a facility skilled in referrals. This is hands down one of the best facilities we've ever had the pleasure of being patients at. Our primary dr is Dr Devin Bogus. His extensive knowledge is beyond impressive as is his attention during appointments. He doesn't rush my child or discount her. He speaks directly to her and values the response. When we've needed a quick appointment we've always been able to get right in. We've been to 2 of the AHP facilities and it's always been a fantastic experience. Their front office staff as well as the MA and nursing staff are equally as professional and as friendly as the providers. My only complaint is they don't do family medicine, I'd love to have the same confidence in my own providers as I do my child's! read more

We needed to take my 15 month old to an urgent care at around 10:30pm. Even though this urgent care had booked all available appointments for the day (they close at 11pm), they offered to put us on their "overflow list" and stay open late just to see us. We arrived at 10:50 and they saw us right away. The staff was kind and professional and the doctor (Dr. Brook) was knowledgeable and quickly diagnosed our son and then patiently answered all of our follow up questions. I had no sense she was eager to get us out the door so she could go home. Awesome place! read more

I had a horrible experience at this clinic. My son just needed a shot. We waited 1 entire hour before even being seen by the doctor. There was absolutely nothing in the room to help my 15 minth old son pass the time. Finally we were seen, but it was another 30 minutes before someone came to give him the shot we came there for. Horrible. The staff was nice when we did see them, but an hour and a half wait is ridiculous! read more

After Hours Pediatrics is an amazing pediatric practice that provides a wide array of services for your children. I have been taking my daughter and son there since they were newborns and trust them with my children's care. They have three locations, the NE Heights, Westside and on Holly St close to Pan American and I-25. Your child can see the same provider for routine exams or they can fit you in as needed, typically the same day (at one of the three offices depending on the urgency). The thing I appreciate most about After Hours Pediatrics is if your child is sick, they are open until 11pm and will often fit you in after that, so no going to urgent care or the emergency room, your child can go to the place they know and see familiar faces when they need it the most. I love this place, We moved to the state of NM 4/2016 and was unfamiliar with whos is the best DR offices and all that good stuff. We ended up with AHP because my sons early intervention has suggested them. We got the wonderful Dr.Melinda Richie she spends time with each of my children (3) she isn't the type to just dismiss your concerns she actually listens to the parents and reviews your concerns. My son is Autistic and she is so great with him he has major anxiety and fear of the exam rooms and any Dr or nurse in scrubs. one day we had to see a different dr and my so was not feeling good and he was having a fit but the young man that came in the room was so calm and gentle with my DS he got on the floor and sat with him on the floor and just talked and calmed him down while doing his exam I wish I could remember his name he is a African American man and won my heart that day. This clinic on Montgomery is the best one I have found. The front staff the nurses and the DR's all show love and respect to all the families that come in. read more

My son has autism and has been to a lot of different doctors. Usually they just weigh him, check his height, blood pressure, and tell me he has autism and wish me luck. But Dr. Trujillo was so understanding and compassionate. She really listened to my concerns and spent a lot of time with us in the visit. She was kind to my son and got to know him. She ordered a lot of important tests to see if there was anything else we needed to do to help him grow and do his best. She recommended another specialist for us to see. All of the staff were so nice and friendly to use, and we did have to wait a little but it wasn't too bad. Best doctor experience I have ever had for one of my children. read more
