Pediatric... my teens still see pediatricians and will probably do so until they are 18. After Hours Pediatrics (AHP) has at least 3 locations, and is your same day (95% of the time) place to be seen. The offices sometimes fill up fast, so there are no appointments left. They are open until 10 p.m. so your child can be seen after standard "banking hours" or urgent cares are closed. Their Holly office has a bit contemporary in design- they use cement benches for parents' seating in their treatment & waiting rooms, as they are easier to sanitize. But they are not necessarily as 'welcoming' to some. Personally, I appreciate knowing they clean & sanitize often. In their treatment rooms they do have standard treatment tables for the sick child. Rooms are very basic in decor. Which can get boring to look at, but bring a book to read or toy to play with. Or if you have kids like mine they will entertain you with their humor... My teens have seen multiple doctors and Nurse Practitioners in the Holly Office. Each one is very attentive, listens to you & the patient. Asks questions to get to the reason of the visit. Helps where needed and sends you on your way. The only thing that would make AHP better is if they had their own X-ray dept. If they see you for broken bones they will have to "refer you" to your choice of hospital or ER X-Ray Departments, not to sit in the ER itself. Depending on the time you are seen by them. I brought my child to After Hours Pediatrics because they were clearly ill. During the visit, my concerns were dismissed and I was told they were "fine," without what felt like a thorough or careful evaluation. Within a very short time, they was seen by another provider and diagnosed with a bilateral ear infection and pneumonia. What was most concerning was the response after I filed a complaint. Instead of acknowledging that something may have been missed, I was told they could have developed both conditions within hours. That explanation did not feel medically reasonable and came across as dismissive and defensive rather than focused on patient safety. This experience was not only frightening as a parent, but also eroded my trust in this clinic's clinical judgment and accountability. Based on this and prior concerns I've had here, I would strongly urge other parents to seek care elsewhere if they want a careful and thorough assessment of their child. read more

Would give Dr Web zero stars if possible. Took my son in who had a sore throat, fever, and chills for 3 days with a known strep exposure and a red irritated throat. She decided he had a cold and refused to do a strep test when we politely asked for one--she was patronizing stating "I've been doing this for 30 years and I'm not going to do it--it's not strep." She had terrible bedside manner and made me feel very small and insignificant which is not how a parent should be made to feel. We took my son in to rule out strep to ensure that if he has it, he isn't spreading it in the community--only to feel ignored and that our concerns were insignificant. I used to love After Hours Pediatrics and have been taking my sons there for years. However, over the course of the last two years their quality of care has declined. When you cannot even get blood test results without hounding them, it's very sad. No parent should be put in limbo worrying about their child's platelets, let alone if they have or could be carrying a serious illness. There's no heart or warmth in this place anymore. What ended up being mono was dismissed as a cold, a flu, a sinus infection and the like in which I was told to have one of my boys tough out. Not right. Not ethical. It's embarrassing. read more

The Doctors here are incompetent. I took my daughter to check for earaches six times and they dismissed my concerns every single time the minute we get a new doctor she diagnosed my daughter with earache. They definitely discriminate against certain children. They reuse disposable medical devices for example the oxygen pulse monitor for children. They can easily spread diseases and viruses using the same disposable device on all their patients. They burned my baby's foot with the oxygen pulse monitor because they claimed to have"cleaned" it with alcohol. read more

We have been going to this Pediatric office for over 5 years, tried to get an appointment for my son who has pink eye and without any previous notice- suddenly he's not considered a "primary patient", even though we literally just had a visit in July. He was previously a primary patient with a doctor who retired- we were never notified of his retirement and never reassigned a new PCP, yet were still able to be seen up until today. When I called to get my child care, they refused because of a policy change that me and his mother were never notified of and they claimed he wasn't a primary patient, and the reasoning was because After Hours never reassigned our son a PCP after his primary had retired. Their failure to communicate with us and refusal to do anything to make it right and correct their mistakes has now left my child without the care we have been paying for for over 5 years. Do not send your children here unless you plan on being scammed, lied to, and given the runaround about how they can't see their patients. read more

i absolutely LOVE dr. sara rady! i've never had such consistently positive experiences with a pediatrician. i recommend her to everyone i know! if you're feeling skeptical after reading some of the negative yelp reviews, just go see dr. rady for yourself!!! she's truly exceptional, informative, kind, and incredibly thorough, even when my baby is fussy or things get chaotic. i always feel heard, supported, and validated in her care. i genuinely look forward to my child growing up with her as their doctor and i wouldn't want to see anyone else! read more

I been going to this location for years!!! Since my oldest was an infant! I still question why? Well first off, it's convenient and they do same day appointments for my kiddos. I do have a backup primary she's awesome! Unfortunately, she gets booked throughout the week quickly! This place gets under my skin of the fact that they dismiss you quickly , very rude, and don't care. If you mention you don't vaccinate your kids. Automatic judging, I'm not ignorant I do my thorough research! I can see if I choose not to and never do my research behind these vaccines! Then yes! So please keep your judgements to yourself. So far I've had nothing but good experiences here with Dr. Blumer, he's very nice, thorough and reassuring when you ask him questions. He's very gentle when handling infant babies and is a very knowledgeable pediatrician. Definitely would recommend him if you plan on going here. The people at the front desk are pretty nice as well from what I've encountered. The environment is clean and warm but a little plain (to be expected at a doctor's office though). This place use to be great but it went down hill fast. Care workers that give no attention to their patients they would rather be in the back fooling around and playing grabass while patients are waiting on hold through the phone or in the lobby. The sole reason I take my son to After-Hours Pediatrics is because they offer same-day appointments, and appointments that go later into the evening when needed. I made an appointment last night at the Holly location for my two-year-old to be seen by the on-call Nurse Practitioner. I am extremely disappointed with the visit, and will not be returning to this facility in the future. It was made apparent that the on-call NP did not want to meet with us. She was short, did not introduce herself to me or my husband, and even became argumentative when we had questions about his lack of treatment, and when we asked about a referral to a specialist. As a medical professional, she is supposed to be an advocate for my sick toddler. Yet, when I left this appointment, I felt that I had to advocate for my son against her. I waited for my son's prescription to be ordered well into the night by the NP. I am sure it wouldn't have been ordered until after the holiday weekend, had my husband not called the office manager to ask about it. It doesn't make sense to choose an office for your children, that specializes in late visits, to be treated like an inconvenience. read more

We have gotten good care here, but their billing practices are abusive. Because I am self-pay I pay attention. They consistently bill for a more complicated visit than we received. I changed providers after trying to get a bill adjusted for a 4 minute tele-health phone call to report if there were any side effects to a prescription dose change. I was billed $120 for a 21-30 minute consultation. I was told the provider would review it and got a new bill for $142. I called the billing office and they couldn't understand that the self-pay adjustment was to be deducted not added to the bill. The provider would not bill for the appropriate level of tele-health. This is the second tele-health bill they have overcharged for and not been willing to change to reflect the actual care given. I didn't need to call the doctor for my child's benefit. It is for their records. I just paid $248 for two short phone calls to report that everything was fine. read more

We followed our pediatrician from abq pediatrics when they closed a zillion years ago. My children now 12 and 16 have only ever seen her. However, now it's impossible to get an appointment with her. I live in a dead cell atea and do not have a computer so I call week after week to be told she has no availability and to call next week because they only schedule up to two weeks in advance. I finally got one for an 8am saturday morning. The only appt. they had for her. I work nights and and we have an hour's drive, and things did not work out. I tried to call to let them know, but there is no place to leave messages and no one to answer phones until urgent care opens at 1pm. So i sent them a fax after i got to my second job. I am hoping she can schedule me an appt. This is not the first time i have had issues scheduling well child checkups. It's easier to get into an urgent care visit with anyone else than to see our pediatrician who knows our children. I guess if i can't schedule an appt. For my days off, monday and tuesdays, then it's time to go looking for a new pediatrician. What a shame as she is the only doctor they have ever known, and now, for the few years left in their childhood, we have to find someone else. I am also fighting an urgent care visit because despite handing them two cards and telling them which is primary and which is secondary, they look at them, tell me they already have them and hand me back my cards and then a year later im getting a bill and i find out they didn't have the primary card, so of course seconday didn't pay and we owe the full bill. I just dont know what to say anymore. This is not billings' fault, this is the front desks fault, and i am beyond frustrated at this point. I hope they actually read the reviews and make changes for a better system, but then our health care is so bad here, im not surprised if they don't. read more

I hate that all the after hours appointments in this place are provided by incompetent egotistical midlevels rather than actual doctors. These midlevels are preoccupied with spending their every dime on Botox, fillers and skin tight athleisure scrubs than on educational courses to actually learn about kids. I took my baby here for an allergic reaction and the nurse providing the care (Rachel Marquez) didn't even know that anaphylaxis in kids is different than in adults. She had an attitude from the beginning, didn't do a thorough exam of our baby, provided false information to us, and got defensive when we questioned her. She also didn't know about the fatal delayed reactions that can happen in cases of anaphylaxis or allergic reactions. She told us to give our baby Benadryl but didn't provide the dose, duration, prescription. After some convincing from us, she finally agreed to prescribe an epi pen but didn't do it until 2 hours after our visit. I will never use this place and I caution other parents to avoid this place, especially when your kid is sick. It's ok for well child exams just to get the kids weight and height but otherwise, steer clear of them! Doctors are ok but i have 2 bad experiences with the management system: 1st time we tried the walk in because baby is sick and we was asked to wait for 40 mins but it took 1 hour. Then we were taken into the room and wait 30m more. The baby was crying out and very hungry so we decided to leave after 1h30m wait. Then someone ran after us saying doctor is coming so we stayed. 2nd time on 06/24/2022 we arrive 20m late (normally we wait up to 30m after check in), so the receptionist asked us to leave and come back at 4pm tmr. Tmr we came back and they said they don't take walk in at weekend, my appointment is on Monday not Saturday (which is tomorrow as they said yesterday). As if both me and my husband were deaf so both of us misheard them. And because we have seen this case before when someone else came and had to leave with frustration so we decided not to give this pediatric any more chance! Bye! read more

We had a wonderful experience recently with my son he needed help for the respiratory virus that he contracted and they did a great job. They also provided oxygen for when he went home as a precautionary not even 100% necessary but just in case and I really appreciated that because as a mother you just do you want that kind of thing you want to know that your kids gonna be OK 100% so you can get some rest so that you can take that care of them you need to be 100% you know? So I really appreciate this place we go to the one on Holly Dr. Burger is excellent he's been my son's doctor since he was born and we've had nothing but good experiences there they're very thorough and there's always a nurse that you can call and talk to you if you're not sure if you need to bring your child in or not they're very good about that as well and protecting people from the recent Covid outbreak, so I definitely recommend this location. Good experience! We are from out of town and needed to have my daughter checked out for an infected scratch. We were in and out in 20 minutes. Everyone was very kind and respectful. They treated my daughter well and engaged with her which is always nice and comforting. It was $72 for the visit, which seems like a lot but I called Nextcare and they were obsurdly priced at $300. I've had two very bad experiences with my daughter. Last year she was given the wrong dosage of medicine. They gave her a prophylaxis dose and not a treatment dose. When I questioned this, because both the pharmacist and another physician said it was wrong, I was shot down. They said they weren't wrong and would not change the dosage, even though the skin condition was not going away. I found another pediatrician that corrected the dosage and it was gone. This past time, they were the only office that would see her as a urgent care same day for a UTI. They told me she did not have one and sent us away. I went back again after the symptoms persisted. Her at home leukocyte test came back positive. They AGAIN said it wasn't a clear result. They refused to give her anything to treat it. They did not refer her to anyone for further testing. They did not send the urine out for a culture since the at home results were positive. They did nothing to help her. I will never return. In Albuquerque your only options are be seen quickly and receive sub par care or wait and see a practitioner that is knowledgeable. Please please please beware of this practice ! read more

Normally I don't do this. But this is ridiculous! I took my daughter here, the PA we saw tested her for COVID. Rapid 15 min test. Test came back Positive! Freaked out! Called everyone we've been in close contact with. They got tested. Got a hotel room because we live with her grandparents!! She wasn't running a fever for the rest of the day and the rest of the week. She just had a bad cough and runny nose! I got her tested again paid $100!! Test came back negative!! So now I'm confused! So now I'm thinking I spent well over $600 for food medicine and hotel rooms! I took her to Presnow, the Dr. evaluated her. Gave her a second covid test! Got the test back a few days later and she's NEGATIVE!!!!! Do not go here!!! They're rude they do not know how to have compassion when I called about the tests! It was 6 weeks out. One week later he got Covid. When I called for a sick visit, I learned that appointments are same-day only, released daily at 8am, and if you can't get through due to a busy signal or waiting on hold, too bad for you and your sick kid. I tried 3 days in a row, calling back multiple times due to busy signals and then waiting on hold for at least 20 minutes each time to be told appointments were all gone. After finding care at other random urgent care centers, After Hours called to let me know that my initial visit was canceled due to the provider being unavailable, so I needed to callback and wait another 20m on hold to reschedule. Reader, I canceled. But not before waiting the 20m on hold. Maybe the care would've been great. If you could only get in. read more

We've had nothing but good experiences here, both with regularly scheduled appointments and with the more urgent same-day appointments. They treat the child and the symptoms - not angling to pad insurance bills or anything. The doctors and nursing staff are current and well-informed, always willing to learn new things or go more in depth on things they already know. We just had our kiddo's annual exam - hearing, eyesight, physical exam, balance, muscle development, etc.. not rushed or anything, just thoughtful and considerate. Nurse was great with giving him his vaccinations - didn't make a big deal of it, just very matter of fact and kind. Just right! Scheduling is kind of weird (they have a rolling open window of a couple weeks, they don't book way far out for routine exams). Same day appointments are either booked online or over the phone. My son got sick while we were in NM visiting family, and after a rather bad visit at Presbyterian's urgent care, I brought him here for a visit at 10:30pm. The front desk lady was nice, helpful, and polite. We were seem rather quickly by a very nice doctor (I can't remember her name), who took the time to answer all my questions and comfort my baby, who had a dual ear infection and bronchitis! I was wholly impressed with my experience here, and I highly recommend this practice as a solid alternative to emergency rooms and urgent care! read more

We were seen today by Dr. D (her first name is Mary), and she came off very cold to me. I was in total shock. When she entered the room I asked if it would be possible to move the latex gloves out of the room because I am highly allergic to it, and carry an EPI pen because I am so allergic to it. She made a comment that I wasn't even touching them and when I said that my allergy was bad she just put it in the cabinet with the other gloves. When I got home I had to take a benedryl because I was so itchy. I had to bring my son to my daughter's appointment because my husband couldn't get off work (and well it's what parents do, right?), and she literally spent FIVE minutes with us. My son had a cough that I was just curious (since we Were there already)if she could listen to him to see if his lungs were clear, and she refused because HE DIDN'T have the appointment, HIS sister did. She also stated that other people were waiting. There were no other patients in the waiting room, and as I stated earlier she spent a whole whopping five minutes with us. A minute or two more wouldn't have made her late for anything as we were there early. If I do decide to go back I will make sure we are NOT seen by her because she acts as if she hates her job. I was having a rough enough day, and I didn't need her to add on to it. I will add that the front desk staff and the nurses all get FIVE stars from us as they were all so welcoming and pleasant. They were helpful and very warm to me and my children. So kudos to them as they were the only thing to save this visit from being a disaster. read more

A nice option if you just need a quick appointment for some antibiotics or a shot update, but these are not primary care family doctors. I took 3 kids here for 5 years and every visit they had no idea who I was or anything about the family. They brushed off my long term medical questions (seemed like they had no answers) had minimal concern for anything beyond vaccines and sports physicals and reciting a script. I had questions about my son's weight, they advised cutting back on soda, which he doesn't drink, and didn't check any labs or ask any questions. The last straw came when my kids got covid and I called for advice. They suggested frequent hand washing and wearing a mask. I clarified that the whole family had covid, and we were quarantined, and should I really make kids with asthma and covid wear a mask all day? What should I do, or watch for? They had no idea. Rest and go to the ER if worried. That was the last straw and we found a different practice. We also discovered that it's better to go straight to NM orthopedics clinic than to bother stopping at the pediatrician anyway. I'm still floored months later that my kids doctor was too scared to give medical advice. read more

This clinic used to be good. For the past two years they have been focused on expanding causing the quality to go down. We used to love our doctors Toya, Hermanez . These days they never let you see a doc, only PAs. We had bad experiences 3 times in a row. My kid had so much chest congestion and the doc called it a allergy even without using the Steth once. The nurse practitioner that we saw told us that our baby's wheezing was nothing to worry about and that it was from airborne irritants. Do not go to Pediatrics After Hours if you want to check to see if your child has flu. They do not offer or have the ability to perform a rapid flu test!! Where do we live! This is a simply procedure offered anywhere else in the USA, especially at a pediatric office. This is absolutely ridiculous. You should be able to tell me if my child has flu A or B. It doesn't help that you can't get an appointment at a reasonable time when you have a sick child. Don't expect to call at 8am and get a morning appointment for a sick child. They give those appointments to the well visits and will offer you a 7pm appointment!! Yes, PM. Went in asked doctor Cathy Fresquez for authorization form for children to treat symptoms of Bloating. Pain or cramps. Gurgling or rumbling sounds in your belly. Gas. Loose stools or diarrhea. Throwing up, symptoms that my children sometimes have with dairy products. She would not consider signing such forms. I asked for maybe gas X, Children's Imodium OVER THE COUNTER medicines by the way that would would be of help and on hand for the nurse at school to give in case. . She does not think a kid with severe gas, or loose stool should have medicine to help these symptoms while at school. I do agree with trying to solve the solution at the root which we have asked school for dairy free lunches, however, if there should be a hidden ingredient this prevents my kids from taking a medicine that is OVER THE COUNTER from getting relief, and being able to get back to class instead of going home. Disappointed that this Doctor would suggest that I allow my children to be in pain from gas and bloating and all the while EXPERIENCE this while sitting in class..... Cathy Fresquez is a poor choice for your kid if they are having this sort of problem and need this sort of form for school. We take our two kids here. Awesome staff, very friendly, great hours (thus the name). We see Dr. Crocetti who is very patient and understanding. He takes his time with the kids and makes them laugh. If you have questions or need clarification he will go into detail and help teach you versus making you feel stupid. The nurses are all very knowledgeable. The only con I can think of is you don't always know who you will see to treat your child if your appointment is after normal business hours. read more
