This form of cooking enhances the natural flavours and gives a wonderfully tender result, adding another dimension to our restaurant menu. Our produce is sourced locally from throughout New Zealand. Every supplier we work with is carefully chosen for their dedication to their craft and the produce they supply, our suppliers are a community of like-minded people who support our commitment to quality and the very best of seasonal produce. Catering for dietary requirements is important to us, with vegan, vegetarian, gluten & dairy free options available.
Our restaurant wine list has been carefully selected to include some of New Zealand's top wines and our talented mixologists will create any cocktail you desire, or you can select from the list of Dishery cocktails on our menu.Reserve your table now for bistro style dining in an intimate restaurant setting from 8am to 3pm.
History
Established in 2020.
Arrowtown has a Winery and a Cheesery. Now, a Dishery. The Dishery Restaurant Arrowtown.... is a place of many dishes - serving good food to be enjoyed with loved ones in stunning surroundings with beautiful wine and cocktails.
Owned and operated by locals Scott and Emily Stevens, The Dishery is bistro dining at its best.
Since the 1860s, the Dudley's Cottage Precinct located next to the Historic Chinese Settlement, where The Dishery is situated, has been a hive of social activity. Hungry and thirsty gold miners came down from the Arrow Gorge goldfields to the edge of Arrowtown to trade their gold finds for basic human comforts. Food, drink, shelter, warmth, companionship. Back in those days, the pan you worked the goldfields with was also the dish you ate from. In fact a gold pan was simply called a dish. The most valued of possessions.
The Dishery Arrowtown just might be the utopia those early adventurers were seeking.....
Meet the Business Owner: Scott and Emily S.
Scott and Emily live locally in Arrowtown, with two girls under 5 attending the local preschool. They love the amazing tight knit community, the entrepreneurial spirit of its inhabitants and of course the stunning natural surroundings, being keen snowboarders in the winter and caravanning in the summer. Their daughters are discerning fluffy consumers and can attest to the high quality of the ones at The Dishery!
Scott & Emily have operated a hospitality business at the Dudley's Cottage Precinct since 2010 with the aim of preserving this stunning piece of historic Arrowtown, opening it up for more people to enjoy and to build a lasting legacy for their daughters and their descendents. They are now are excited to bring you The Dishery Bistro - created from their experience of what they love about restaurants they have visited in New Zealand, New York, Dubai and London.
