My first ever dinner detective and it definitely fell short. I had a preconceived idea of what I was getting into, yet open to a fun night of solving clues. I chose this event on the Queen Mary as a haunted ship seemed so perfect and could only enhance the experience, right? Starting with check in they were behind but at least it was a smooth easy process. We were told what table we were at and to choose a seat there. Sadly, the next 30 mins we sat there mostly talking among ourselves and eating our salads that had already been served. Salad was good, rolls were super dry, one bite and just couldn't do it. Around 6:30 everyone was seated and the host came out to set the ground rules and introduce the show. I thought we would be entertained the whole evening (thinking 2 of the 3 hour event being the show), slowly enjoying our food in between. Actually it was the opposite. There was a scene played out with clues, then the actors took a break, we were served food, given those same clues they acted out on paper to read through and study, then back to the show. The same thing repeated a few times throughout the night. The rest of the food was better than I expected considering prior reviews I read here. The acting was good and they each fit their character nicely. My biggest issues were two fold. First of all the down time was significantly more compared to the entertainment time of the show. I definitely didn't expect that, esp based on ticket price. Secondly, the Ballroom (as beautiful as it is) was way to big to hear the show. The actors don't wear mics and it was really hard to hear what was going on half the time. We had to pretty much reply of the clues brought to the table to solve the game. Sadly, it didn't live up to my exceptions. However, I am open to trying another one of these at a more intimate venue.

(Pre-Covid Review) Who doesn't want to be part in solving a mystery? I was excited to see a show while eating dinner but I was wrong on how this is carried out. The event takes place in the Queen Mary which is a good setting because of its history and mystery. My show was going to start at 7am and the ticket states to arrive early to check in. However, they leave you standing outside and open the doors at 7am. So not sure why we need to check in early if they aren't going to open the doors early. Once you check-in you create your alias name and can get your picture taken with a few weapons. They serve appetizers at the entrance not at the table so it's sad that you can't get more. The first course is already served when you arrive which is a mixed green salad and there are rolls with butter. Throughout the night the show happens in the room but the actors do not have mics so it can be hard to hear the clues. The acting is okay and there was only one actor that stood out to me. He was really funny and stole the show with his jokes. He played the part of the detective. There is a moment where you must get up to interact with others to ask questions. If you are shy then this is something that you don't want to do. The food is served late and it's mediocre food. You get a small chicken breast with one scoop of mashed potatoes and a few veggies. I didn't like that the food is not served right away and you have sit there waiting for it. Overall, the show is okay, the food is bland, and the experience is not memorable.

For this reason, this was probably the only time in my adult life I was able to go. Not knowing what to expect, we arrived a little bit after 4:30 and was able to go into a special small show which was one of the first shows. Intrigued by all the small and special rooms available around the magic castle we snaked our way around and saw a couple of shows and enjoyed a few beverages throughout the night. No, photos or video are allowed except for the entrance of the castle and a little bit on the outside. I was completely enamored and amazed to the power of illusion and magic at the magic castle. I definitely will be back.

Felt like a VIP movie night (with one tiny wrap flaw!)…read more Let me start with a quick parking tip because it's definitely in the fine print: there's "One Garage" literally right next door that offers complimentary 3-hour parking once you get validation from iPic, the only garage to get validated! Sounds amazing... until you show up and it's already full... which was what happened. Our movie started at 6:00 PM, we arrived around 5:20 PM, and the garage was completely closed off -- they weren't letting anyone else in. Luckily, we found parking about 3 minutes away and paid around $5, which honestly wasn't too bad. We came here for the second part of our Valentine's date night and watched Wuthering Heights because hello... Margot Robbie is my favorite girl. I haven't been here in over 15 years and WOW -- I forgot how absolutely beautiful this theater is inside. The lobby is spacious, classy, and honestly feels kind of luxurious. There are pool tables, a full bar area downstairs, and spaces where you can hang out with drinks and good company before your movie. We headed straight into our theater and ordered food from our seats (also... water is complimentary, love that). We were seated in our own little pod -- super intimate with two seats, cozy setup, and yes... a blanket. It truly felt like rich people movie night. Shoutout to our server Jake, who was outstanding from start to finish. Great service, super attentive, and made the experience even better. Food-wise: The Boss Burger ($20.5) was a solid 8.5/10 -- hubby really enjoyed it. Although, there were no pickles or tomatoes in there even though it was in their menu. I ordered the Chicken Caesar Wrap ($17), and I'll be honest... it was the only downside of the night. It was a bit cold and tough, and the tortilla-to-filling ratio was a little off for me. I'd give it a 6/10. If the tortilla was a bit warmer I'd think it'll be able to hold onto the filling a bit better, but that was meh, for me. BUT the fries? Piping hot, crispy, and delicious. And Jake even brought us ranch, BBQ sauce, and extra ketchup without us having to ask twice. Overall, this was my husband's first time here, and it definitely won't be our last. We had such a great experience -- the ambience, service, and overall vibe were top-tier. Can't wait for our next cozy movie night here!

The seats were way too close together, and the person next to us had belongings spread into the shared space, making it very difficult to get in and out of our seats comfortably. Because of how uncomfortable the situation was, we decided to leave during the previews before the movie even started. We politely explained the issue to the manager and asked if we could either move to different seats -- even less expensive ones -- or receive some type of accommodation such as passes for another movie. Unfortunately, the manager refused to help in any way and would not issue a refund, exchange, or even offer courtesy tickets. For a theater that markets itself as a luxury experience and charges premium prices, I expected much better customer service. Other theaters like AMC are usually much more understanding and willing to work with customers when issues arise. Instead, we left feeling frustrated after paying for a movie we never got to watch. Sadly, this experience completely turned us off from coming back.

I totally didn't realize this was something that wasn't for kids when I heard about it, but it was actually very entertaining and I did not regret the experience!! The plot was cheesy but well executed, and the horses were so cool?? I've never really seen live dressage before and I think this is one of the only places that you can regularly watch it. Pros: - Very easy to get to, especially if you do an uber drop-off to avoid the parking drama - HUGE portions of food- we were served garlic bed, tomato soup, half a chicken, and a pastry for dessert. It's "full-on medieval experience" so you eat with your hands, no utensils. The tomato soup and garlic bread were actually so delicious. Meal also comes with your own choice of soft drink (think lemonade, etc). - There are drinks to purchase, menu is on the QR code at your seat. It was pretty tasty - you get to scream A TON - and it's actually encouraged!! I like spaces like these where you're allowed to be as obnoxious, talk as much trash as loud as you want, against knights that are not the one your section is rooting for. The red knight - staff were welcoming and professional and super helpful - the knights and performers are all super talented! Even though you know the fight scenes are staged, the competition is real and the knights are actually trying to win for real (per our friend who is a knight there lol - it's a real job and they have real martial arts training) - People get super into it, and dress up and groups have so much fun! - They do give you hand wipes, but sometimes it is helpful to bring your own extra Cons: - the drinks are super overpriced because they come with a souvenir cup (which I didn't see explicitly written anywhere when we bought them) that looks kinda tacky lol - the chicken breast and potato was pretty dry, so I would say the food here is very mid and that's not what you should come for - I would wear clothes you're okay getting a little dirty, since it's pretty dark, you can't really see when food splashes onto you - The dessert pastry was also very dry Overall, a super immersive and engaging show with great performers. I felt like the $70 without the extra cake was worth the money.

Upon arrival, guest have literally no idea what to do when they arrive at the restaurant. No one is there to greet anyone, we were just left to wander awkwardly around. While it says the show is 7 to 10 PM we were unable to get out of there until almost 11. This really ruined our after event plans, as we had no way to gracefully leave. The show was running late (there was a big lag between the salad and entrée with no activities or instructions on what to do during that awkward lull), and when finally it was "solved" (about 10:40pm), the performers and host positioned themselves in front of the only room exit, so they could introduce cast members. And after that-then even though it was 10:45PM, while they were still blocking the exit, they opted to single out everyone who had a birthday or anniversary, and sing happy birthday not once but twice in Long form. We really wanted to leave, and it was impossible. I've been to many murder, mystery evenings, and never been to one that there were not props involved. Usually there are evidence Props placed all around the room and included on the evidence table with diagrams, etc. So it was disappointing that no real thought went into creating "evidence". For over $650 for 6 of us (we bought cocktails at the bar), and our after plans completely ruined due to us not being able to get out until almost at 11 o'clock, I probably would have given this a two star rating but the food was very good and the actors at our table were fun to be around.
