Menu- each course inspired by a different artist

Went to one of the interactive dinner shows at 7 Paintings last week and had such a good time. Our side of the room really lucked out with a great group of people, and honestly there's something so fun about being allowed to play with your food like a kid again lol. The drinks were strong (thank god) and our server was super attentive all night without hovering. Some of the projection art actually reminded me of the tea service at teamLab Borderless in Tokyo, which was a nice surprise. Dessert wasn't really my favorite part but it didn't ruin the night at all. Honestly I went in with zero expectations and ended up laughing the whole time. Cute little experience, worth checking out if you're up for something different!

Stale bread and a sticky plastic hand.

We came for their classic movie nights that they do every other Wednesday…read more I was blown away from the moment they opened the door, the space is intimate and has an amazing vintage feel. We were sat and quickly helped by our server. Every thing we ordered was top tier, the drink was strong and the food was delish, my Hubs especially liked his Japanese Chicken. We watched Wizard of Oz, and it was beautiful on a big screen. The show comes with a short chat with a film critic, his words were very insightful and added to our appreciation of the film. I've already planned my trip for the next movie.

Now in 2023 performing La Cage, Drag Show, very loosely referring to the movie La Cage aux Folles. Announce yourself to the reception. Pass through a bookcase disguised door like at the Magic Castle and enter a crimson velvet tinged world of Cabaret.  Comfortable sofas for the big ballers while the rest of us are relegated to tall bar stools with no back. Don't get too toasted & sloshed or you could fall back backwards.  3 man band starts playing stalwarts of the American Song Book about 15 minutes before show time at 7pm. The doors open at 6pm. The 2nd show starts at 9pm.  You can order a short list of bar food, and there is a full bar, but obviously no loud blender to disrupt the show which runs around 90 minutes. So it is possible to dine before or after at French influenced Shirley where you get a 15% discount showing your La Cage tickets.  Then doing a post prandial libation at the Lounge or an alcohol based Milk Shake at 25° to make it a full evening at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. Drag is a venerable art form. In Shakespeare's time, the Globe Theatre had only male actors so Drag was de rigueur as well as the ancient Japanese Kabuki Theatre which is still all male to this day.  Host Tommi Rose, 47 year Drag veteran originally from the La Cage aux Folles Night Club in the 1980's as well as at famous Finocchio's in San Francisco during the 1970's, does a flurry of 13 costume changes ending with a silver beaded dress weighing 28 lbs.  A Marilyn Monroe, who is a dead ringer to the original, performs flawlessly channeling her inner Monroe. Lady Gaga makes an appearance lip synching to songs when she sang with Tony Bennett. The in between acts had a "Cabaret" Berlinesque feel that Liza Minelli would have been pleased.  The Torch Song finale was a rousing, feel good rendition of "I Am What I Am" from the song originally introduced in the Broadway musical La Cage aux Folles.  It was a poignant song that makes no apology nor excuse for who we are. And that is the way it should be.  Enjoy the Drag!!!  PS Get rid of the annoying two pillars blocking the view of the stage.

Summary: Our dinner on a Thursday night was $149 per person plus $50 wine pairing. Excellent…read moreservice, unique experience with Tablemation, and great food! We ate very last crumb on our plates and left feeling full and content. Details... Made a reservation on Open Table for a Thursday night for our anniversary. Prices may differ depending on the day you book. I appreciated the whole menu displayed on the website so we could anticipate the 4 courses. We planned to arrive 30 minutes in advance as they suggest, especially in case there was traffic! We pulled into the SLS Beverly Hills and it's valet only. The cost of valet was $20 for 3 hours with restaurant validation. We entered the hotel lobby which had beautiful florals for a photo which the staff kindly took for us. Staff all around the hotel seemed especially friendly and attentive which we really appreciated as we had to ask for directions a few times to the restaurant. The "Wasp in the Wig" speakeasy is where we entered past the elevators and "through the looking glass" aka the mirrored room and entryway. We were told that although our reservation was at 6, they would seat us at 6:20p and to find somewhere comfortable in the speakeasy and order a drink if we'd like. We found a nice booth and we enjoyed trying the Gin Garden cocktail, closed our tab, then around 6:20p we asked if we should now be seated and they promptly led us to the actual Le Monde restaurant. On the way through the back of the speakeasy we're the restrooms which were huge! We were the only table for that seating time so it was cool to have the whole space to ourselves! Felt very special. The staff here was also so friendly and congenial. Everything was served promptly on very nice plates and every dish tasted really good! I was surprised by the tuna tartare and the dessert the most because I really enjoyed them! For the dessert there are floral notes like rose water sprayed over the dessert and lavender, and I usually don't like floral flavors, but this wasn't overwhelming at all and it was so good I ate every last bit! The macaron was so yummy too! I had the wine pairing for an extra $50 and the pours were generous! So worth it! After my cocktail and 4 more drinks at dinner I was feeling great! The Tablemation was cute and entertaining since it was something new for us. It filled in the time between the courses and made for some fun Instagram/TikTok content. Kids would probably find the jokes funny. If there was a new menu and Tablemation I would return with friends! Parking validation was done back at the speakeasy host stand and we also were able to get change for tip at the bar. Our car was brought around very quickly and we could pay the $20 charge on our credit card.

I do not recommend this restaurant. The service and food were awful…read more We were there 2 1/2 hours. Two of us had the Ultimate Tasting and 2 of us had the Tomahawk steak. The steak was the first item served. The steak was raw and was ordered medium rare and we had to send it back. It took another 30 minutes to get the salads and appetizers. Two of us had the Ultimate Drinks but that took very long to get. I didn't get my main dishes until 2 1/2 hours later and by then I didn't want to eat because I was exhausted from waiting so long. All of the food was cold. I complained about the poor service and was told that the kitten was short by 4 people. The bathroom was filthy. No toilet paper and paper towels. The waiters kept dropping and breaking plates all around us. You could tell the employees were pissed off. No one smiled or seemed pleasant to the customers. We were there to celebrate my son's 33rd birthday. All they served him was a stale chocolate cake that look like it was bought at the 99 cent store. We sat outside and there was poor lighting. We had to turn on phone flashlight to check the food because it was poorly lite. This only items that were good were the mushrooms, creamed spinach, and sangria. It was not worth the $400 we paid. I will never go back to this restaurant.

When I was little, my dad's favorite place to take me was the movie theatre. I'm not sure I told him but I hated it. The seats were way too close together, and the person next to us had belongings spread into the shared space, making it very difficult to get in and out of our seats comfortably. Because of how uncomfortable the situation was, we decided to leave during the previews before the movie even started. We politely explained the issue to the manager and asked if we could either move to different seats -- even less expensive ones -- or receive some type of accommodation such as passes for another movie. Unfortunately, the manager refused to help in any way and would not issue a refund, exchange, or even offer courtesy tickets. For a theater that markets itself as a luxury experience and charges premium prices, I expected much better customer service. Other theaters like AMC are usually much more understanding and willing to work with customers when issues arise. Instead, we left feeling frustrated after paying for a movie we never got to watch. Sadly, this experience completely turned us off from coming back.

I can't remember the last time that I laughed so much. The cast was fantastic and kept the energy in the room fun and engaging. 2 and 1/2 hours flew by. Even though we weren't close to solving the murder, it was one of the best nights out we've had in a while. We are so excited to go to another one whenever they're back in town! As always, food and waitstaff at Maggiano's was top tier. Don't hesitate to book this experience!

Pros: *The food was very good…read more *The room and seating were comfortable *Some of the performers were very good *Nice atmosphere/interesting restaurant Cons: *A bit disorganized *A real need to have more direction for guests. *More thought on character and story depth needed *"Props" consisted of just scribbled notes on paper. Upon arrival, guest have literally no idea what to do when they arrive at the restaurant. No one is there to greet anyone, we were just left to wander awkwardly around. While it says the show is 7 to 10 PM we were unable to get out of there until almost 11. This really ruined our after event plans, as we had no way to gracefully leave. The show was running late (there was a big lag between the salad and entrée with no activities or instructions on what to do during that awkward lull), and when finally it was "solved" (about 10:40pm), the performers and host positioned themselves in front of the only room exit, so they could introduce cast members. And after that-then even though it was 10:45PM, while they were still blocking the exit, they opted to single out everyone who had a birthday or anniversary, and sing happy birthday not once but twice in Long form. We really wanted to leave, and it was impossible. I've been to many murder, mystery evenings, and never been to one that there were not props involved. Usually there are evidence Props placed all around the room and included on the evidence table with diagrams, etc. So it was disappointing that no real thought went into creating "evidence". For over $650 for 6 of us (we bought cocktails at the bar), and our after plans completely ruined due to us not being able to get out until almost at 11 o'clock, I probably would have given this a two star rating but the food was very good and the actors at our table were fun to be around.

A neat experience but somewhat pricy considering all the extra fees/add ons and also tips and drinks were not included- the $200 food package does come with drinks (not even soft drinks). In addition, there was a service fee for each package that you purchase as well. Parking is a block away and no valet - plan ahead. We thought the food was just OK. Every dish was cold which we thought was odd. We had a birthday in our party and I even emailed them asking to see if they could put a candle on the dessert - they said no but they will be doing something special. I also noticed others who celebrated birthdays had happy birthday written next to their name - that was not the case in our party. On top of that, at the end of the night they gave us a bill for a meal that we prepaid in full. Overall, I was disappointed in the food - it felt like a dry/ practice run on opening day except the price did not reflect that. The staff was very nice and friendly.

Also they should work on involving more people, not just picking the same person I always say would I go again? Because wow it just keeps going up price wise. Also their ordering system has glitches that need fixing. It was stressful Its wild to think I paid $45.00 back in 2012. Now it was around $150.00 each for a Saturday not including parking . Damn
