Parking was not available out front, but if you walk a few blocks away, you'll find a reasonable public parking lot. The bar was large, upon entrance; there's that room, with additional rooms as you continue further towards the back. Plenty of seating, I imagine it gets pretty busy as it gets closer to evening. Clean restrooms were available. Friendly service and reasonable prices. We ordered a Smithwick and hard cider for a little over 9 Euros. Put this spot on your must bar list when in Ireland!

As we had a toddler , so they seated us in a private dining area outside the bar to comply with the regulation that kids aren't allowed in bars after 9 pm. Our server was very friendly. The staff was really good! He took our orders, got us to try a few beers and whiskeys before we finalized our orders to ensure that we really enjoy what we order. At this point we were just blown away by the hospitality despite being extremely crowded. We ordered two pints of beer, a shot of whiskey, fish and chips and a vegetarian curry dish. Everything tasted fantastic. The place itself was huge and the ambiance was of the traditional Irish pub. Brick walls, good music, fantastic pours, great food and warm smiles all around.

We went to Birr to see if we could possibly track them down. The first place we stopped at was Kelly's pub. We had the best service and ate the best food. The soup was served with fresh homemade brown bread & Irish butter and the cottage pie was served piping hot with a rich flavour that felt not only delicious but nutritious too, The vegetables we were served tasted like they had just been picked. We asked the waitress if she could direct my American friend regarding sources of possible information on her long lost Irish relatives. Before I knew what was happening the owner John drove us to meet her family. He made phone calls, got their address and brought us there himself. I was so proud that my friend got to see the magic of Irish hospitality and selfless acts of kindness towards a stranger. They are all very knowledgeable about the area and have some amazing stories to tell! The walls of the pub itself also tell a story, with lots of personal photos and trinkets collected over the years by the family. They also serve the best pint of Guinness in the land! It's a great spot to come with a big group of friends, there's loads of space and also a room with a pool table! The pub itself doesn't serve food, but they very kindly allow you to bring food in from the neighbouring takeaway while you enjoy your drinks which is brilliant!
