Honestly not sure why this office got poor reviews. They've never had me fill out more paperwork than necessary, the facility is clean, the receptionists and medical staff have always been friendly, and I was never stuck in the waiting room for very long. Went here a few years ago for two issues. Was told that the red spot on my leg was skin pigment and that it is what it is and it's fine. I went to another dermatologist recently to find out that I actually have eczema. I called to make an appointment at this office after searching for a dermatology practice that accepted my insurance. The operator gave me a Saturday appointment and took all of my information including my insurance card member ID and assured me that my insurance is accepted at this office. On the day of my appointment there was a ton of construction near the office so I called to inform them That I was nearby. The answering service informed me that the office was closed and I should keep calling. Keep in mind i had text confirmations. I arrived nonetheless. When I got to the desk, the receptionist gave a dry hello and confirmed my name. Then proceeded to ask for my insurance card, as another patient walks in. She quickly responded "oh no we don't accept this". In disbelief I explained that the operator who took my appointment assured me it was accepted. She told me she would have to make another appointment with a different doctor for another day. WOW! Waste of time. Thought the office was closed. Oh and I forgot to mention, when I came in I asked if the phones were working and she told me yes. I explained that the answering service is answering and she didn't seem too surprised. Too many red flags. She began looking for a date and flustered I asked her to take care of the now 2 patients waiting. She then asked me if I wanted her to call me, I agreed, she confirmed my number and told me her name. Guess what!? No call. Customer service is super important in any industry. And your receptionist is the Frontline. If they can't get it right, what does that say about the doctors. This was my experience. read more

Thanks to Dr Li, I have my life back. It turned out the previous Dermatologist from another office did not diagnose my condition completely. The first Dermatologist treated me for psoriasis when according to the biopsy report I have both psoriasis and eczema. For 2 months I suffered with my condition progressively getting worse with treatments prescribed by the first Dermatologist. This practice has zero respect or compassion for their patients. I was a 5 year patient with this practice, along with my two sons, daughter and elderly mother. I had skin cancer so I am very diligent with scheduling my yearly appointments. On June 20th, I scheduled my appointment for July 26 at 7:00 PM. We went back and forth scheduling because I needed a late appointment because I work in Edison. Several appointments were offered that I could not make so we settled on 07/26 at 7:00 PM. Many texts were sent asking if I wanted to come on an earlier date and time. They were ignored because of my SPECIFIC need for a late date and time. Yesterday I arrived at my appointment. The woman at the desk is SO rude and un-welcoming. Molly was THERE but was "done for the day" and wouldn't see me - THEIR mistake and they did nothing to accommodate. Awful office. I visited the Paramus office, which was big, very sterile and cold looking, and when I arrived I was the only one there. After standing at the desk for a few minutes, the receptionist , obviously annoyed that I interrupted her conversation with the other receptionist about her weekend, handed me this huge, awkward, industrial looking tablet to fill out. It was very time consuming and clumsy to use, and 15 minutes later, I handed it back to her completed. It took another 15 minutes before I was brought to the exam room, then another 10 minutes before Dr Bonney saw me. (mind you I was the only one in the waiting room). The exam was very rushed, to the point that the Dr was actually walking out the room as I was asking a question. So here is the kicker. The Office was in my insurance networks PPO, which I paid the $20 copay at the office . 6 Months later I get a bill from the The Dermatology Group for $240. The bill has listed "registration error" on it and I noticed they have my address and name spelled wrong. Whats the point of wasting time on high tech gadgets if they are manually entering my info incorrectly in the insurance claim? read more

What an operation. I was out of medication 7 days before my appointment. I called on a Thursday to express concern about this, and was told a clinical nurse would call back that day to get me a small extension on my medicine to cover me until my appointment. I called again Friday morning and was told the call was coming. I called Friday afternoon and was told it was impossible to help me because Dr. Bonney does not work every other Friday and they don't know what office his nurse is in. The staff was pleasant enough on the phone, but the lack of communication was beyond unprofessional and showed a lack of care for patients. I'll go next week to get my prescriptions, as Dr. Bonney is pleasant enough. But, not sure I'll be going back after that. Lastly, I was told I missed an appointment in April. Considering I went in October and Dr. Bonney said you're good for a year, I'm not sure what that was all about. They said the 6/month max is a new policy. So, I guess patients are supposed to have osmosis for any new policies they enact? This staff is all over the place. read more

Dr. Notterman is great. However, the office/business side seems severely mismanaged. They lost my original file and all documentation about previous procedures at their office. Also, their online appointment request form goes to Customer Service (as the receptionist told me) and seems to just stay there without any action being taken. My 3 star review is not because of the doctors here but because of the front desk staff/receptionists. My doctor, Dr. Bonney was amazing, quick and thorough. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a good dermatologist. However, my first visit, I came because my underarms sweat more than usual. Dr. Bonney prescribed me a strong deodorant that I put on before bed and a pill I take in the morning. The first time I put it on it burned and stung but nothing unbearable and that is expected for such a strong deodorant. It worked and helped me stop sweating 100% which is the first time in 8 years. So I continued to do so for the next 8 days. Last night when I put on the deodorant the burning and pain was unbearable. I couldn't even lift or move my arms without being in pain. My armpits are red, still stinging and my skin is rough and puffy. I went to bed planning on calling right when they opened (6 am) so I can be seen ASAP for a possible allergic reaction. I called at 6am right when they opened and the lady basically told me to bad and I need an appointment. So I said fine I would get an appointment tomorrow (Friday before 11am because I work) she told me she would see if she could fit me in and I could call back to see if the appointment could be made. I told her to call me when she knows if the appointment can or can't not happen. After not hearing back, I called at 2 and got the run around again for the second time, they told me to come in before 3:30. I got here at 3:15. The receptionist, Joanna had a horrible attitude. She also told me I was late for a 2:45 appointment, which was news to me because I couldn't get an appointment at 6am and I just had gotten off the phone with them at 2:15 which is when they told me just to come in before 3:30. (Probably because I harassed them about seeing me that day) Annoyed and angry is an understatement with the staff here. I understand other people have appointments, but shouldn't you take a possible allergic reaction a little more seriously? I'm sure my less than 5 minute appointment could have been squeezed in somewhere earlier. Hopefully Dr. Bonney works out of another office where I can see him. read more

She is very caring and attentive to her patient's issues, and has helped me through the process of treating burns on my face from an ILP laser that were the result of the negligence of a plastic surgeon in the area. I am still in the process of treatment, but my face is 95% improved. She had also performed botox on me, and I loved the results. read more

Went for pediatric visit for son. Office is nice, office staff is good, but the doctor was rushed every single time. It was that kind of rushed where when they leave you're totally confused about what they said. Doctor was nice but does not take her time explain things. doesn't really have that pediatric touch with the kids - almost cold. As a pediatric specialist I believe you need to have that kid friendly vibe, be very patient, and take your time explaining things to parents because we are scared as hell about what's going on with our child. They might have thought my sons case was mild but they could have explained that or reassured me that everything was fine. Our last visit she did a treatment but she missed so many spots because she was in a rush. I had to point it out to her. If you value bedside manner then maybe you should consider another place. read more

One of the best places that I've ever went to for my skin check up...the doctors and their assistants are very smart, they will explain everything to you and if you have a certain medical condition they will also explain to you what it is. " even I'm covered in rashes and weird things Another time I went to get a small mole removed and they lady told me she was nervous to remove big ones she never did it, but she can remove small ones, so I let her and she missed a few spots and it looks like I have a star on my leg.. While the doctors at this practice are top notch the office procedures and staff follow-up are awful. I have been a patient here for over 15 years. On many occasions when I have called the office for follow up issues or question nobody ever responds. I also had a billing issue that took over a year to get someone on the phone to discuss and correct it. On one occasion I had a problem with a prescription. It took more than a week to get a call back and the problem corrected. I was in severe discomfort during that time while I waited for for the medication that would have given me relief. Unfortunately this is the norm for this office. I have been considering leaving their practice and going elsewhere and was giving them one last chance after speaking to the new office manager. However here I am again with the same problem. I had an unexpected reaction to a medication they prescribed. I called on Friday to discuss it with the clinical staff. They weren't available and I was assured that they would contact me on Monday. I even said to the person on the phone that typically they do not call back. She said she would personally see to it that the right person got the message. Well... it's now Tuesday and no one has called me. I guess it's time to give up and find another office. read more

Disappointed!!!!! I had a visit on June 30, 2020. I was prescribed a medication that i had a question on before taking. I called the office 3 times to have the doctor call me to ask my question and no one called me back. On my 3rd call to ask why no one called me back days later , the person on the phone sounded like she was annoyed with me .... the nerve!!! I'm a patient that had a concern about taking medication i wasn't comfortable taking or that i wanted to get more clarification on , and you showed no interest in helping me instead they act like they are annoyed, and on top of it claimed they never received a message for the patient to call her, well train your staff next time its not my fault that they didn't do their job properly. Without a doubt the rudest staff I have ever encountered. Called 4 times to get a prescription refilled. Was told every time it was being sent right over. After a week the rudest girl put me on hold for over 25 minutes and then said I needed to come into the office. Sorry I don't feel comfortable doing that during a pandemic. This is for a very mild anti biotic by the way. The only staff member that was nice and tried to help was Marlena but unfortunately she cannot make up for the others. Dr Bonnie also never contacted me once- no apology from anyone. They just lost me and my families business which they obviously do not care about. DO NOT give them your business.
