I've been going to the Dentists at Northgate for over 5 years. I moved from the north end to Spruce Grove but I continue to make the drive because I don't want to move clinics. There are just lots of sweet little perks that make the experience better. Massage chairs while the dentist works on you, plus a tv in the roof with headphones to listen, not just subtitles. If you have kids, there are xboxs in the waiting room for them to play and tvs to watch. Their office is open evenings and Saturdays which is clutch because I have to schedule around work. They will direct bill your insurance, but even more, they will look into it for you, to make sure that your plan will pay for your visit. It's nice to have that security and it's yet another way they take care of you. I have a friend that has to pay up front at her office and she doesn't always get reimbursed if she wasn't eligible for what they did. In terms of price, they're reasonable. Let's be honest, a dental visit is not the cheapest thing you'll pay for all year. Really it comes down to how good your insurance is and that's not something they can help. The way I see it, I pay for quality high-end service, so at least it's worth it. The clinic is clean, polished and professional. The receptionists are helpful and light-hearted - it actually seems like they're having fun at work. The assistants are really nice and equally helpful. Also, they have something like 6 or 7 dentists that work there, so it's easier to find one that best suits you, since you certainly have options. I used to see Dr. Jamison before she moved to Calgary, which was disappointing because she was really cool. Now I've started seeing Dr. Amirie and what can I say, going to see the dentist never looked so good. More so, he's attentive, confident and knowledgeable, all of which make me feel better about my treatment. Shawn has been a hygienist there since forever and I typically get my cleanings done with him. He knows his stuff, not to mention he's very personable. I've also had my teeth cleaned by Mohammed and he was great too. I like this clinic so much that I even dragged my boyfriend here. Man, was that like pulling teeth (pun intended). He had a flipper before but Dr. Maier did a bridge on him and now it looks so good. I would highly recommend this dental office to anyone. I've never had a bad experience here but I have been a witness to someone who thinks they did. You'll come across difficult people everywhere you go and the north end is certainly no exception. I think most people simply hate going to the dentist so they come in with a chip on their shoulder. This individual showed up too late to his appointment to still be seen and got so mad he swore at the poor lady at the front desk. I can't comment on Lilly's experience but I can comment on the staff and they're definitely not abusive. Yes, they took my photo to put on my file, but Universal Studios took my fingerprint, I wonder which one I'm more concerned about (like you don't have your photo on Facebook). Sounds to me like this lady is using Yelp as her own personal weapon, which isn't fair to the good people at the Dentists at Northgate. read more

Going to the dentist is not anyone's favorite thing to do but they make it easy. The staff is so helpful and take away the stress of a dental visit. The receptionist are very friendly and knowledgable, they explain what to expect in my visit and with my insurance, they even submitted the insurance claim for me. They have booked me in on the same day for an emergency, if my regular dentist is not available, they still get me in with another dentist there so I am not waiting in pain. The office hours are convient with being open late and on Saturdays. I have now seen a few dentists there and they have all been wonderful, patient and so gentle. The dentist distracted me while I was get the needle so I did not even really notice it. The staff is great at explaining what they are doing and why certain treatment needs to be done. They are very helpful explaining what my insurance will cover and what I will have to pay. The office itself is up to date and well taken care of, very organized, and bonus they have the TV's in the ceiling and even have massaging chairs!! There is a kids area that my boys love, it has video games and a tv, table & chairs. They give the kids a special token after their visits to get a prize from the machine. I came to the Dentists @ Northgate after I lost my four front teeth in a hockey accident. Not only did they do a really great job on the bridge that replaced my missing teeth, but they also put a lot of extra work into estimating the cost, verifying my insurance, and trying to get my dental work covered under accidental benefits. I was really impressed with how much effort they put into working with my insurance and it ended up being covered at 100%, which I never would have expected. The staff took measures to ensure I understood my insurance, the procedures, everything that was happening. The dentist and assistant were professional and skilled and the receptionists were friendly and helpful. The office itself is very nice. The massage chairs were unexpected but a wonderful bonus! Definitely made the long appointments more comfortable. Also, with the longer open hours and Saturday appointments it was much easier to be seen on a day that worked around my schedule. I am an ACTUAL Edmonton client. My 5 star rating is based on: Hours of operation: The business is open evenings and weekends, and getting an appointment is easy. I originally came here because I needed some emergency work, and couldn't find another dentists on short notice. Quality of Service: Good quality of service. Any corrective work is done promptly. The dentist I usually get is experienced, and procedures (including freezing) are done with as little pain as possible. Reception staff are friendly. Costs: Costs are reasonable, and much cheaper than my previous dentist, who had a newer office in South Edmonton. Usually my insurance plan is able to cover 90% of the costs here instead of 80%. I don't have the feeling that procedures and decisions are based on using all my insurance plan's funds, like my previous dentist. The cost for a procedure here is stated beforehand. In summary, I am willing to drive across town to this dental clinic, instead of to dentists who are much closer. read more

I had a fantastic first appointment here. I haven't been to the Dentist for nearly 15 years and can't really think of a worse place to be. As you can imagine my teeth are in pretty bad shape and not only was I afraid of the experience I would have, but the cost as well. I am was completely surprised to be leaving the clinic feeling great! The entire experience and service was warm and calming, which I needed for my anxiety! They are quick at getting you into your appointment, seeing the Dentist and on your way to billing. Izabella did a fantastic job at making me feel comfortable while I was there. I saw Dr. Hussan who was very gentle, quick, knowledgable about my anxieties, quick assessment with a clear and direct communication to help me get back on track. I highly recommend The Dentists At Northgate. Not only are they conveniently located and are open at convenient hours, they have the most modern equipment as well. This is an office that cares enough to invest in being a successful dental practice with several dentists and highly competent staff. My children tell me they like the fact that there is a video game station they can play at while they wait. The other amazing thing about The Dentists at Northgate is their office is very socially responsible and gives back to the community in many different ways. I recently went to this office and I find it unique that these people will take my photo and my family to make sure that my benefits are exclusive to me and my family. NOWADAYS, there are so many people who have the same names even birthdays. I WANT to make sure that my face is there just in case I misplaced my card or get robbed and someone wants to pretend they are me. I am very greatful that they have taken an extra step to prevent rampant identity theft. I am also impressed with the staff and dentist at this place. I like their evening hours because I don' t have to miss work. THEY also direct bill so I don't have to pay upfront. Overall, my experience is great. First time attending this dentist - I chose this place mainly because of their hours and the location - and after going I'm very glad I did! All of the staff are very kind and welcoming, they help you work with your benefits so you can reduce costs. The dental hygienist, Jay, was so nice, did a thorough cleaning and made me feel very at ease. I can't remember the name of my dentist but he was also very kind and helpful in telling me what work needed to be done first and what would work with my benefits. The setting is nice, they have massage chairs and TV's to make things a little more comfortable - as comfortable as they can be when you're at the dentist! I was in about a month ago asking about prices since I do not have dental coverage. Then I got a phone call a couple weeks ago saying they were having a complimentary day for a free cleaning and X-rays. I booked an appointment and just finished up in there. They were fast (to make sure everyone got done on time) but the quality of care and compassion that came from every person in the office be it receptionist, dental assistant or the dentists themselves was very professional and thorough including exceptional cleanliness from all staff. I would highly recommend this office to anybody! I've heard good things about it in the past and to experience it for myself was a treat. read more

Excellent clinic. Staff was friendly and helpful with all questions I had answering with a smile. They took me straight in to my appointment exactly on time without delay. Both the Dentist and Hygienist were good at there jobs, next to no pain and always holding a conversation while being totally professional. The clinic was spotlessly clean and well maintained with the best equipment. Even tv's on the ceiling for your enjoyment! Overall an excellent experience and paying upon leaving was quick and affordable for the work being done compared to other offices I've tried. First off i would like to say...I never write reviews,...but after my experience with Dr. Sandhu & Maryium, I felt it was the only way of expressing my gratitude! I had a regular exam and cleaning (with my hygienist Azin who is gentle and amazing as well) and during the exam we discovered that I had cracked a tooth from grinding my teeth. I was worried and Dr Sandhu put me at ease, saved my tooth well making me comfortable the entire time. They are simply the BEST,and not just for those VERY fearful of the dentist like myself, but because they are caring and great at what they do. read more

Great service, friendly people, overall a great experience for me. It's been a long time since I visited a dentist and I can honestly say in a manner of speaking that they welcome their patients with "open arms". You don't feel embarrassed knowing you don't take care of your teeth as often as you should because they show a deep level of understanding for each patient. Great clinic!!! I came in for a cleaning and exam and Shawn my hygienist is very good and thorough. Dr. Appoo has been my dentist for a long time and I wouldn't go anywhere else. They get me in quickly if I have an emergency and they direct bill my Insurance. My friend goes to a clinic where she pays for everything up front and has to wait for reimbursement. I've never had any issues with this clinic -they have always been very sweet and professional. Always a great experience at the Dentists @ Northgate! I'm a very nervous patient and Dr. Appoo is always very patient, kind, and gentle. The girls that work at the front desk and in the back are always very helpful and informative, and also very supportive as they know how nervous I am. I had a great experience here. I originally went in due to a dental emergency and ended up getting a lot of work done by Dr.Amiri. He did a great job at explaining everything he was doing and was very patient with me. The staff were generally friendly and professional and the office is very nice and clean. They were great about giving me estimates before each appointment and ensuring I didn't go over my insurance coverage. Definitely recommend!!! Dr. Dhaliwal & assist Maryam are an amazing team that deserves mentioning. Well organized, very detailed and informative about the procedures and what to expect. Patient care and comfort are #1 and genuine. Direct billing is convenient and administered by the wonderful staff up front. Just moved to the Northside found this dentist and what I found was hard to believe. Dr Rustom Appoo is nothing but a common criminal, he tries to get you full X-rays and sign off on all sorts of unnecessary dental work knowing that insurance will pay.
