It made for a good Instagram, however, yesterday we went to Blacker Hall Farm where we ordered afternoon tea - only to be treated to larger sandwiches, a giant scone each, and three unique delicious desserts. This far exceeded my expectations and also was quite a bit more tasty than Betty's. Would definitely visit again soon!

They have a loyalty card which allows a free one after about nine cups - a nice touch, and obviously competing with Nero down the road. The olives in particular seem to be very expensive, and I don't really feel they are any more special than from the right supermarket.

The next occasion was a few hours later when I popped in to see if they had any bakewell tarts left that I could buy and take home for dessert that night. They were just literally shutting the doors but the friendly owner let me in and sold me a few slices - at a discount even due to her saying they would have been better eaten that night (I love independent business') I literally didn't have time to hang around and smell the roses but it's a really cool sandwich shop and deli - plus the sandwich and tarts were pretty damn good!

I had the pleasure of visiting cute little Littleborough a few weeks ago to do a short photography project. fair to say I was blown away by the place and in particular this tiny Deli in the heart of the village. With the city centre littered with franchises and chains, finding independant business' has become a mission of mine. Discovering this little hidden gem therefore gave me a great deal of satisfaction. I've bookmarked it and will be returning to review Hollingworth Lake a small piece of Lake District not far from here.

It sells local produce, with cheeses (though try not to be put off by the tub of Philly in the lit counter-bar), but what's more is that there is a vat of homemade jam behind the counter. They sell all kinds of delicious deli delights, the things you might expect, but nothing you can imagine will compare to actually purchasing a beautiful sandwich of theirs! They sell some lovely cheeses, they are *purveyors* of European bread (yum!), they sell continental meats, speciality home made sandwiches and offer a great sit in experience if you want a delicious tea or coffee. It really is one of those 'must visit' places in Pudsey, which has it's mix of good indie and bad indie haunts. This one is definitely on the plus side, down to earth and delightful.
