My partner and I had a meal at the Wortley Arms today. On arrival we were greeted by Gus, the waiter who showed us to our table and looked after us the entire afternoon. We were in the area and decided to grab a bite to eat.
We browsed through the menu including the specials board, which had great seasonal produce with lots of variety. I chose the chicken liver parfait with caramelised red onion and brioche and my partner chose the lobster salad which we both thoroughly enjoyed. The main course was absolutely delicious, I had the sirloin beef dinner with yokshire pudding (nice to find a chef that can make such a great yorkshire pudding too!!), which was served up with the most tasty vegetables and the mash potato was divine, not to mention the gravy which just complimented the entire eating experience.
My partner chose the rib-eye steak which was cooked to perfection, a most tender and juicy steak he'd ever had, served with home made chips and a creamy ranch salad.... very impressed.
We were so in awe of the food that had previously been served, that we decided to order a dessert. I had the sticky toffee pudding, served with butterscotch sauce and vanilla ice cream, it was just the perfect ending to a wonderful meal, and extremely tasty. My partner had trio of chocolate desserts consisting of chocolate chip ice cream, white chocolate and raspberry mousse and a chocolate brownie.... perfect for the chocolate lovers!
I can't recommend this place highly enough, glad we have found a country pub that takes food so seriously and will certainly be back soon.
Compliments to the Chef and also the staff!!!! read more
