This was the first restaurant my now wife and I went to for meal when we first met. I was, at the time, a residential student at the nearby Northern College.
Our wedding anniversary is 29th February; we were married on this date so that I only had to buy an anniversary card and present once every 4 years.
Joking aside, I decided that I would book a table in the restaurant at the Strafford arms to celebrate our wedding anniversary on March 1st this year. The on-line booking system was user friendly and a confirmation message was sent to me within moments. This was a great feature as I'm a born worrier and wanted this to be the perfect surprise.
The meal was excellent as was the service which was provided by helpful, friendly staff for whom nothing was too much trouble.
I've never felt so empowered to write a review before but in this case, I felt I had to as both my wife, Julie and myself can highly recommend this venue. read more
