The greenhouse also hosts classes on gardening, cooking, nutrition and fitness and provides economic opportunities to the neighbors in the form of business development for food based small businesses. There are many ways to experience GrowHaus first-hand. It serves as the venue for the annual Harvest Week dinners, which I highly recommend. Free public tours are offered every Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. There is also a variety of volunteer opportunities on the business side of things in the way of marketing, communications, event planning, graphic design, and grant writing (most of the plant care and farm work is handled by interns, students and trainees). The GrowHaus is a 501(c) nonprofit organization that accepts cash donations and in-kind donations of tools, gardening supplies and office equipment.
