The food is good. The ambience is amazing. The service is top-notch! I would go there again and again.

This place is amazing. The guacamole is great. There's a Japanese crispy shrimp. What flavor! 6 pieces per order. I had a wagu sirloin. Made with a puruvian spice rub. So tender and flavorful. My wife wasn't hungry so she just got a cheeseburger. To her surprise she said it was the best cheeseburger she ever had. I tasted it and very much agree. Not only was it moist but the meat had a flavor onto itself, that you normally don't get in a hamburger. If you're in Clearwater I guarantee you will not be disappointed in this place. The Deep End is an absolute nightmare in terms of customer service, management, and their reservation system processes. For the last night of our family vacation, we reserved a table for 5 for dinner just before sunset at what seemed to be a lovely rooftop restaurant. We used opentable for the reservation. We got there a few minutes early and let the hostess station know our names and that we had arrived. She and another hostess checked her list to verify our reservation, then she showed us the table by the window we would be seated at, but said she needed a few minutes to have it cleaned and set it up for us. After a short while, when she called out our name, ANOTHER family (of only 3) claimed to be us and quickly sat at the table to settle in. It was bizarre! We realized what was happening, and explained to the hostess the reservation/table was ours, and the family said they have a name similar to ours, and were a family of 3. At this point the table was clearly set for 5, and clearly not theirs. The hostess confirmed it was ours, but seemed like she didn't know what to do next. Shockingly, this imposter family did not get up from the table, and the hostess told us they felt awkward asking them to move, even though she and another hostess could not find this "similar" name on their list. Basically they took our reservation! Yes, there are shameless and dishonest people out there... but The Deep End, and ultimately Marriott, was to blame. It gets worse. Instead of the restaurant manager helping the hostesses correct the situation, and having the family move, he told us they were unfortunately busy, and they had no choice but to have us wait for a "table somewhere in the back against a wall." When we said this was unacceptable, that this other group who had no reservation should have to wait/move, the manager told us we could either take his offer or he may need to call security. Yes, you read that right. Completely turned off, we said we had no interest in staying, and gave him our parking ticket to validate so we could leave, but then he refused to give it back! He tried to engage us again about a table we could wait for in the back. At this point we didn't trust this man or him handling our food. The whole ordeal was upsetting and surreal, and we just wanted to leave but could not without our parking ticket, which he still had. When the hotel manager arrived, he quietly apologized, and validated our parking ticket, and off we went on a Saturday night to find somewhere else to eat. Unfortunately, decency and customer service were nowhere to be found tonight at The Deep End. It is clear the restaurant manager is out of his league, insecure in his role, ill-equipped to handle issues, and would do well finding another profession. He escalated a situation, instead of diffusing it, and ruined our family's evening, and did damage to the hotel brand. Now... on to Marriott Corporate. read more

The views from the 11th floor of the new JW Marriott are amazing overlooking the bay and the beach. The food was perfect except for a disappointingly overcooked lobster tail that had non flavor. Oysters, crab claws, and shrimp were amazing! We will be back! read more

Great view of the gulf to watch the sunset. Drinks and food are pretty good. A great place to take guests from out of town.

Ambiance = 5/5 service & Staff = 5/5 Menu/Food = 2/5 Please change your menu. This menu does not fit the beach & Pool vibe that this place embodies. The edamame was very good, I would not order the seafood tower for 4, again. We left hungry because nothing else on the menu was appealing in any way. To be clear, we didn't want the usual beach fare of burgers, nachos, grouper sandwich, etc., but some nice fresh fish entrees, unique salads, chicken and beef dishes would have offered a more appetizing menu. read more

This place is incredibly overhyped and over rated. Didn't get a waiter to come to us after being seated until we asked. Didn't finally get food till 50mins after our reservation started. The food is also incredibly subpar - overcooked, tasteless (like not even salt in the mashed potatoes - just straight up potato....). The food was all overcooked. And the price, my god, for the quality, trash prices. Avoid this place, better places around the area. read more

Hey why not eat well and view well! Food and view are worth the price since best roof top restaurant in Clearwater! Most rooftops places are shotty on service but this place is great and will attracted the best servers (who wouldn't want to work with this view)! Just opened so it will become a must do once word is out! read more

Overpriced but the food was tasty and the service was ok. We had the lomo saltado, I would recommend it. It's a bit loud given the proximity to the pool but not unreasonable. read more

First time at the Deep End (11th floor rooftop restaurant bar at the JW Marriott) and the food was delicious. We had the fried chicken bao with yucca fries, Japanese crispy shrimp and kurobuta gyosa appetizers. All were delicious and very fresh tasting. The service was great as well. My husband and I sat at the bar and Mari was our bartender that provided great service and delicious drinks. The view is beautiful, we came for lunch but I'm sure the sunset views would be amazing. On the downside, the bar does not have any A/C or fans, granted it wasn't super hot and humid today, I couldn't imagine being there when it does get the Florida heat and humidity. That seems like a big miss from the build out concept, especially in Florida where it's hot 99% of the year. Also, there is no form of entertainment provided, another big miss from the operations perspective. Being out on the beach, I'd love to come here for a drink and some live music while watching the sunset. The atmosphere is great, but the vibe is missing. Overall, great place to grab some food and drinks when the weather is right. Outside of that, it needs some tlc when it comes to the overall feel of a high end:luxury beach restaurant bar. read more

I went with a party of 5 at night. We were astonished by the excellent view, and the cool inside of the restaurant. Our waitress was very nice, and gave us good advice on food, but mostly drinks. The food was between good and okay. I got the pork sandwich, which was good, but very messy. The desert options were limited, and not the best. The Deep End is a good spot for drinks. read more

Clearwater Beach has been in need of a restaurant with a higher end atmosphere. The open air view is awesome too. I was concerned walking in because it's attached to the hotel pool, but it's a great place for a date night. Food was really great too. read more

I would be remiss if I didn't write a review for this restaurant. It was a birthday celebration that brought us there and let me tell you; the ambiance, server Maria, view and over the top food just was sheer perfection! Previous visit to latitude was excellent but this was above that if at all possible two wonderful chefs in one spot who could ask for anything more. The grouper was perfect! Food is different but lacks a real direction . The biggest issue is they let the kids from the pool run through the place like they own it . When you pay a $400 tab for 6 people I unfortunately don't want kids that are not well behaved playing tag around my table . Hotel is nice , just eat anywhere else but at the hotel . The view is a 5.....maybe ne of the best anywhere. The service is a 5....... Excellent. The interesting drinks (pisco sour and cabrinhas) are a 5. Unfortunately, the food is a 2. Peruvian/ South American is a great concept, but not if it is used to hide good quality and execution. Appetizers were great! Seared edamame were interesting and good,......Gyoza dumplings excellent. Entrees we're all average and the seafood platter, which is says is enough for 4 is basically enough for 2.......all seafood seemed likely to have been frozen and all was over cooked to the point of dry and flavorless.....and the ceviche that is a part of it is maybe a 1.....might be the worst I have had (both tuna and salmon)......not sure what was up with that. Many will forgive poor food because the view, decor and vibe are great...... but this is a JW and should be 4.5-5 star. Everything is new and they are clearly still figuring things out, but one might be disappointed if one appreciates good food quality and prep. read more
