They've started a revolution of a dance company inspiring Eugene's finest to have a taste of the performing arts. Without a doubt they are the class of the city, with a variety of dances that spanning a multitude of genres ranging from hip hop to swing to jazz. No local area dance troupe compares to Zapp, as they have a unique distinction of being in a class to themselves. Aside from performing locally in Eugene, they're also world famous touring cities across the United States and Europe. I've had the pleasure of attending a few of their shows in Eugene and came away impressed practically every time. The WOW factor is almost immediate and they continue to inspire audiences everywhere. OBA is listed as being on Willamette but has since moved to W11th Ave across from Freddie's. This studio has the feel of a family Mom and Pop studio but it just so happens that Ma and Pa danced professionally for many years. Megan and John bring talent, knowledge, and a wealth of experience to OBA along with warmth. Serious dance. Serious fun. The students are taught technically correct ballet but the environment remains welcoming. There are expectations but they're realistic. Dress appropriately. Be on time. Respect your classmates. Try your best. OBA's fall performance is always held Thanksgiving weekend at LCC. The first one I went to I was blown away. For a period of time I was so engrossed I actually forgot I was watching children! Such a professional and polished performance. Yet youthful and light.
