My 17-year-old daughter, a UCR freshman, applied to work here as a dance instructor/assistant. She spoke with the owner on the phone, who seemed nice at that time and invited her for an in-person interview. Today, right after her morning class, my daughter took a 23-minute Uber ride there. She was scolded for being 3 minutes late and told never to return. In shock, she sobbed for half an hour outside before taking an Uber back to campus. The Uber cost a total of $33.90, the sadness was immeasurable. She loves working with kids, and her first job as a surf camp counselor this summer was wonderful. Having danced since she was a child, she was excited and looking forward to this position. What a heartbreaking, soul-crushing experience. read more

My children danced here for a very short time. I really liked the idea of taking them somewhere close to home. Being a former dancer myself, I noticed right away the level of instruction was weak. Another issue I have with this studio is you have to pay to RE- REGISTER your child every year ! That is a total racket! If my child is already a student and in your system what exactly am I paying for? Also, the owner got pissy and rude with me because I didn't see why I needed to buy dance shoes from her store. As long as they are the right color and style, what's the problem exactly? It's been worth the 30 min drive to a studio where they receive lessons from former NYC ballerinas and other pros, no re-register fees AND they can wear the shoes they want if they're the right color. read more

My 3 year old has taken the Creative Movement class for a few months, and she LOVES it, and so do we! Her teacher, Miss Gabby, is top-notch. The class is perfectly designed for my daughter's age group and just what we were hoping for in a young kids "ballet" class. It starts on time and lasts the full posted class-length, which I appreciate (feels like we get our money's worth!) The studio has a nice viewing area for parents. From what I've observed of the other classes for older students, they look good too. I appreciate the studio's generous make-up options (if we have to miss a Saturday class, there are two other options during the week for my daughter to attend). The price seems competitive to other ballet schools in the Riverside area. We make a 15+ minute drive from La Sierra to Woodcrest each week because there are no suitable dance schools in our area - so glad we found the Dance Company! My daughter has been coming here for a couple years, and I can't say enough good things about it. Business is family-run and the owners have always been polite and cordial to us and everyone I've seen walk through the door. Cost is very reasonable..... and participation in the shows is optional, so its not a problem if you don't want to pay extra for costumes and show rehearsals. However, I definitely recommend doing the shows, they put alot of work into them and appear to run so smoothly. The show venues are very nice and are held locally. We checked into different studios before choosing this one; but the others didn't appear to have the family atmosphere found here at the Dance Company. Miss Gabrielle is an outstanding instructor and has a knack for teaching youngsters. I'll keep bringing my daughter here as long as she keeps wanting to dance! read more

They are too cheap to provide chairs for the parents to sit in while they watch their children during dance class. Each class has a few, but if you don't arrive way early, you have to stand outside. The smaller classrooms only have 2 chairs, when there is room for several more! I feel like going and buying a few $10 chairs and putting them in classes since they don't really care about their clients. And the owners are ALWAYS late! If you have a morning class and try to get there early do you can get a chair, good luck! The morning classes start at 9am, they arrive around 9:02. Very unprofessional! They should be there bright and early if they were running a professional business. The teachers they have are pretty good, but you don't always get to stay in the class to observe them. read more

The Dance Company advertised that they needed instructors, and a friend of mine applied. First, it took many attempts to even contact someone at The Dance Company. Several appointments were made to interview; yet when she showed up for the interview, the door was locked and no one answered the phone. This experience questions their punctuality, which directly reflects professionalism. Needless to say, they gave up on the Dance Company before the process of wasting her time and money continued any further. My daughters have both been coming here since they were 4 years old , my oldest daughter has loved all her instructors and so has my other daughter . We are always pleased with all of the productions they have been in. This is a great studio and they will continue coming here !
