She was on time and color is she was very helpful as I have a hard time walking she helped me out of the chair. She was very kind for young lady they need a handicap out front is the only thing We went to dinner that night when I got home there was dye all over my coat. She didn't rinse it properly. I'm not happy with it for $221. It should've been done differently and I gave her a $40 tip. read more

Jaedyn did a wonderful job, I was looking for someone more permanent to start coming to and I found her! She has such a good attitude too! The place is cute with charm, comfortable atmosphere and friendly faces! read more

The Cutting Edge Salon - This is before my trim... - Hair Extensions Near Me - Waco, Texas

Not sure where to start. First off the employees that answer the phone are super nice and helpful. However, if you decide to complain a little about a rushed haircut or leaving your root touch-up with a ton of dye on your face, then going to another stylist will be awkward. It seems like you're not as welcomed, and they are scared to touch your head as you might complain about them. Brook trimmed my hair and acted liked she was in such a rush! For example, I would leave there with water splashed on my face from the shampoo bowl, and sometimes soap got on my face. She looked at her cell phone a lot during my shampoo, and cut! There were times she would be using a round brush SO fast that I would have scratch marks on my neck, and when she rolled the hair, it would wrap some of it around the handle of her brush and pull hairs out! OUCH! Then I came back for Suzie to do my hair. I just wanted a different experience. My color was not in their system like they said it would be, and Suzie had to leave and talk to Brook about what my color was. It was an awkward feeling appointment, and oddly, the owner kept going into the hutch I was sitting in front of closely about 6 different times to get products or supplies out. Suzie, kept telling me how much she liked Brook!? Then when I called to reschedule my follow-up Saturday appointment, they could not find me in their books! I was missing! I had scheduled another appointment when I left and it was two months in advance. I never complained about her, not once! However, noticed my hair color was fading from my roots! I use filtered water to avoid chlorine, wash my hair twice a week, and use Pureology shampooed! A $96 + tip root touch-up should not have faded. read more

The Cutting Edge Salon has been my go to place for about a year. Very nice atmosphere inside, nice, helpful staff. I went in for a trim and she even offered me a curl( which looked amazing). 10/10 Definitely Recommend! read more

Came here to get my hair color corrected from another place that didn't blend the color so well. My hair looks amazing and I have received compliments on both the color and styling. It's a very cute salon with so many services available in one peace. Thank you Nicole for the beautiful work you did on my hair and for the pampering . I highly recommend this place 100%! read more

Brooke was amazing! Listened to what I was looking for (a trim and face framing) and went to work. I was in and out quickly and she made sure to help me understand my hair type better. Pricing was great and she styled my hair before leaving. I wish I had found her sooner before graduating from Baylor and moving home :( Will refer my friends to her! read more

My wife has had excellent experiences here but I have been twice with two separate stylists for a men's cut and unfortunately I haven't been impressed either time. I asked for a fade up the sides and it was very poorly done, I even asked before I left if she could blend it a little more but there is still a very distinct line in my hair. I wouldn't recommend it for men. read more

Addie did a great job on my hair! She talked me through the process of what she was doing and cut my short hair just the way I like it.

Very nice people over the phone and help over the phone as well. Had a great consultation. I was upset however when I asked if I cut my own hair when I had to go back because I noticed that my length was not the same when I styled it by myself. Other than very nice people! Definitely recommend Audrey and her services very helpful. read more

I went in for a color consultation with Cherie. I had moved to the area a short while ago and was trying to find a good salon. I had tried another fancy one in the area and had a terrible experience, so I was apprehensive. I knew ahead of time I was asking for something difficult, going from a fashion color to a more natural one... and on the opposite ends of the color spectrum at that. Cherie was polite and professional during our consultation and assured me she could handle it. And boy did she ever. The particular red I want is something I had a very hard time getting back in my home state. I would ask for copper and get auburn, or even mahogany. Cherie aced it on the first try. It is -perfect-. I have zero complaints. She made awesome product suggestions, kept me updated on what she was doing to my hair as she did it, and overall gave me a fantastic experience. I am happy to report I have definitely found my new home salon here in Texas. read more

I have been coming to Jordy for over a year now, and she has always done amazing work on my hair. I have really thick hair, which has been hard for stylists i've had in the past to handle, (no one could tell i even had "layers" with the stylists i have seen at other salons) but she has done absolutely beautiful layers, and now I can embrace my curls! she has done exactly what I want every time. her vibe has always been great, and i'm always excited to see her. I honestly couldn't ask for a better cosmetologist. read more

I found this salon using Yelp. I just moved to the Waco area. I made an appointment with Suzie and I have seen her 3 times now for a haircut. She is really good. I like her a lot and she does listen to what I want, and makes suggestions, which I appreciate. Being new to the area, finding services can be very frustrating, but this was easy. They also have a great website where you can check out each stylists' bio and choose your best fit. Also can book online, which makes it very easy, appointments confirmed by text, etc. read more

The customer service here is incredible. The employees were so nice and cared for my every need! However, their hair services are very subpar. I could have done it myself and saved money for what I got. read more

Go get your lashes done by Angie!! I have been getting complements from friends and strangers alike, many of whom even assumed they were my own natural lashes. When I came in for a fill, my lashes were a little messy and clumped together from the last person who did my lashes (at a salon in a different city). Angie was able to separate my clumped lashes and give me a gorgeous set of lashes that looked like I had grown them myself. I couldn't be happier! read more

I'm new to Waco and needed to find a salon. After looking at other reviews and their Instagram, I decided to try out Cutting Edge. I'm picky about my hair normally, but Santana did an amazing job! She was meticulous and very friendly. After blow drying my hair, she made sure I was happy with the length. She even made a couple of adjustments in the layers and added bangs after I decided I would prefer that. I left the salon feeling confident and positive I found my new place. read more

Good for men's haircuts, too! I usually wait until I visit my family in Houston to get my hair cut at my normal place because it seems like my thick hair is difficult to style and cut for most people. However, today I decided to try my luck at this place in Waco and there were no problems. I showed a picture to Kasi (who specializes in men's haircuts), got my hair cut and was out in no time. The online appointment scheduling system was easy and I was really happy with my new hair. read more

The first time i came to this salon my experience was not great. But, Nicole, the owner, listened to all of my concerns and assured me she could help me out. The next time i went in with Nicole, i left with the best haircut/color i've ever had in waco. For the first time in a long time I love my hair. I recommend this salon!! read more

I recently moved to Waco and had a cut and gloss in March that went really well. I tried to get in with the same stylist in May for a cut, but she wasn't available. The receptionist ensured me I'd be able to get a great cut with another stylist, so I came in for the cut in early May. When I got home, I realized after washing my hair that she hadn't done a very good job around my ears, as I have very short hair that requires precision cutting around the ears, which I'd asked her to do. I emailed the salon the next day and left a review on the text I'd received both asking that I be contacted to come in and have it fixed. Sadly, no one has responded to either message. I wouldn't have made any comments, and just lived with the cut, but when you pay over $60 plus tip for a 30 minute cut, you hope they'll respond to concerns from clients. read more

I had appointment forcor and cut and drove 14 Miles and I get there and she doesn't have time to do my hair. So I left. I made app online and bleach was involved and I just said colot so that's where problem was she said on not enough time, I had appointment though but anyways I won't go back. read more

Super easy to make an appointment through the app, got a confirmation fast. The salon itself is very a welcoming and calming environment, all the staff I interacted with were so nice. I had the pleasure of having Nayeli for my stylist and she is wonderful! I haven't had a professional cut and style since moving back to this area and my hair was in dire need of some TLC. Not only did Nayeli know just what my poor mop needed she explained every step and all the products she used as well. I love what she did with my hair, the softness and body are back and she recommended some great products to keep it feeling great. I highly recommend this place and urge you check out their extensive services. read more

Me and my boyfriend went for haircuts at the same time. My hair was shorter than my boyfriend's and in a similar style. The style that we each wanted our hair to be in was similar as well. So it surprised me when my haircut costed sixteen dollars more than his. Both of us received the same service even though his was labeled a "Men's Cut" and mine a "Women's Cut and Style" yet my hair cut was more expensive. I couldn't seem to get a clear answer on their reasons for pricing it this way. It seems completely unfair for the pricing to be dependent on gender. That being said, the haircut I did receive was exactly what I wanted. All the employees were lovely. My only qualm with this salon is their pricing based on gender rather than other objective qualities. read more

I went here for a trim last week and I am so impressed! Presley gave me exactly what I wanted. All the people were so sweet and I was shocked by how affordable it was! If I wasn't moving out of Waco when I graduate in two months, I would definitely make this my go to hair place!! read more

I had Brooke for my first visit and she was very good. She gave me helpful hair care advice and followed my specific instructions about how I wanted my hair cut and styled well. read more

A cute building, but services are sub-par. I would compare them to mall salon. stylist was super kind but skills were less than expected for a salon. I could do the same at home. I also asked for specific services. She either never checked in with me to see if I liked what she was doing or didnt do what I asked... Also, if you aren't Christian, you might feel out-of-place. They play Christian music which I found a bit off-putting and exclusive. If a client doesn't share in this faith, she/he'd feel out-of-place in this salon. read more

Having recently established myself in Waco, I'm still looking for my standard places - Dry cleaning, salon, etc. I planned on trying a few different hair places and this was at the top of my list, but I'll definitely be staying! For things like this I prefer to go local rather than chain. Cutting edge had a great atmosphere and when I needed a quick trim the online scheduling system made it easy to find a time that worked without the hassle of over the phone "Well, does this work?" etc. The stylists were very professional and so sweet! I loved the professional salon with a Texas hometown feel. My stylist, Cherie, listened and gave me exactly what I was looking for! I've found this is actually a rare trait in a stylist, and one that I very much appreciate. My hair can easily be curly or straight, and this cut looks perfect for both! More often than not after getting it cut it only looks good one way or the other, and as a result it would stay pinned up in a ponytail. I also found the prices incredibly reasonable. Coming from Dallas I'm used to $60-80 minimum for a cut, wash, and style, but my total here was only $40. Looking forward to next time, ladies! :) read more

I love this salon! Everyone is always so nice here. And my stylist, Santana, is amazing!! From day one she has listened to me and exceeded my expectations every visit. If I ever leave Waco she may get snatched to come with me, lol!!! My haircut is amazing. She has taught me more on a lot products and tools as well. Love my new hair tools that I picked up on my last visit. See you next visit girlfriend! read more

I came in to see Candice for a haircut and she did a wonderful job! I paid $50, which is alittle more than I usually would pay for a haircut but I do have thick hair and the cut probably took an hour or so. I'll be going back later on for another haircut and most likely a color touch up. Candice was very precise in her cuts, she checked her work and made sure it was spot on. She took her time which I definitely appreciated! There was a small wait, maybe 20 minutes but I didn't mind as I was 15 min late anyway. The staff is friendly, I brought my 8 week old son and Mom to watch him while I got the haircut and it went smoothly, luckily! There's a cute waiting area upstairs where my family sat. I also saw another Mom with her kids come in for a treatment so I felt a little better about the environment. Overall, good experience and I am very happy with my haircut! read more

Shelby is the go-to-stylist for hair cuts and coloring! She pays sharp attention to the small details that many hair stylists overlook or fail to realize. I will definitely continue going to her during my time in Waco and will absolutely recommend her to everyone I know in the area. Keep up the good work. read more

Can't say enough good stuff about this place. Lots of parking, beautiful interior, obviously great stylists. Mine was Tad. He's awesome. And they have wine! And they gave me chocolate! Beauty, alcohol and sweets. I don't know what more I could ask for. And the price is pretty reasonable. Hair wash, cut, dry and style for 38. Great experience. I'll be back. read more

I spent around $450 on Full Balayage and hair products. I liked the color but not the fact that it was not done till almost my roots. When I tied my hair, no color showed on the crown of my head. I went back in expecting a free service but paid $40 for very tiny pieces of hair around my face with a new hairdresser (not her fault). The new hairdresser did not take the bleach up to the roots as I desired. What a waste of money I feel. I am never going back to The Cutting Edge Salon. They just lost a very loyal hair customer. :( read more

Found this cute salon on Facebook and they had 4-5 Star reviews so I had to come by! Came in for a haircut and was completely pleased with the results. She cut it exactly how my stylist in Hawaii did so I was really happy. My stylist was Tonya and she was great! She was friendly and was just pleasant to be around. I will definitely be stopping by again during my next visit to Waco. :-) read more

The owner of this salon brings all of her problems into the workplace (she's heard talking about them constantly and lets it affect her attitude) and is unprofessional. If you say or do one thing she doesn't like, she immediately aquires an adolescent attitude and becomes very immature. Most of the girls have similar high school-like drama filled mindsets and can be heard speaking negatively about their clients and the clients of others. I had the misfortune of going there a little over a year ago with a group of friends and the "stylist" completely messed up my haircut and eyebrow wax. When I said something, she proceeded to look at me like I was crazy and that it was only because I was moving too much . What??! She refused to refund my money or offer anything to make up for it. A friend tried it again very recently and she said the service was HORRENDOUS! Being the nice person that she is, she did'nt say anything about the haircut they messed up again. She had to go to another salon to get it fixed. No more chances for this place and will be letting all friends and family know to never set foot here! read more

Love Cutting Edge Salon and especially Kayla! The atmosphere is very warming and inviting in an old house converted into a salon. All the employees were very friendly and stayed busy working. I've been to some salons where the employees are just sitting around gossiping. My hair dresser, Kayla did an awesome job on my hair and I can't wait to see her again! read more

I've been to Tad several times now and cannot say enough good things about this salon! The receptionist is always super sweet and quick to offer water or soda while I wait to get my hair done. I'm really picky about my layers and Tad is great at getting the exact look I want. I love that I can walk in, ask for a trim and ONLY get a trim instead of walking away with 2 or 3 inches of hair chopped off. He's super easy to talk to and just a great stylist overall. So glad I happened to find this place through recommendations! read more

unprofessional management/staff. wont be returning there. take your business to 202 beauty lounge:)

My first haircut here was amazing! Katie J. cut my hair to a beautiful long bob (for $38, which is pretty decent considering I have very thick hair & it was long) and she made sure to ask what my preference was every step of the way to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the staff here as they were all really professional & skilled, but I HIGHLY recommend Katie! :) I'll definitely be coming back! read more
