As soon as they get your insurance payout, they toss you aside like garbage. But the second you're paying out of pocket, suddenly they're all smiles and fake kindness. The front desk staff act like they're high-powered executives when in reality, they're just rude, condescending, and completely unprofessional. The daughter is unhinged -- screaming at patients for no reason like some kind of lunatic. These people are toxic, unstable, and dangerous to deal with. They even REFUSE to give you your own records and documents when you request them, which tells you exactly how shady they really are. My crown literally fell out, and they couldn't care less because they had already pocketed the insurance money.

Special thanks to Dental Assistant Vincent for always being so thorough and personable to calm my nerves. We have been coming here for years, and there has not been anything but great service and care. The facility feels like a spa. The team is always friendly and customer service oriented. The ambiance is filled with positivity from the team there. It makes me uncomfortable when I have to get dental and medical work done amongst a team that speaks badly of eachother. You don't get that here. They always work with you to see if insurance will cover as much as you need. They don't try to upsell you. They sincerely call to check on you. If there is an emergency or urgency, they work really hard to get you in. Even on their day off! Example, my temp crown broke this morning. They squeezed me in. I was blessed that Ashley assisted me. She was so sweet and knowledgeable. She was even helping a teammate learn the process, because my case was not normal. Loved her! She got the work done, and it feels so much better! To wrap it up... Facility absolutely amazing! All specialists in one place. The place is more like a spa. Service: Consistently great. Professional, personable and very detailed. I also recieved follow ups from the Dr for my pain levels. Their communication style and genuine curiosity in each patient's concern is what makes them a fantastic team. I was quoted a price of more than $4,000 which is ridiculous because my insurance covers root canals for around $120 co-pay. I requested my x-rays before leaving and was told that they would be emailed to me. I contacted my insurance and the agent called the office to get the procedure codes for the work that I needed in order to verify what I needed to pay. They kept the agent on hold for more than 20 minutes and never gave her the codes. The agent then asked me if I wanted to file a grievance in which I said no. I wanted to give them another chance because they may have been busy. Well, here we are on September 22 with no return call nor email of my requested x-rays. I have called the office everyday except Saturday and Sunday, and somedays twice a day to get the procedure codes and to request x-rays. One day I was told that someone would call me in 10 minutes. That was last week, so I guess they can't tell time. Today, I called again and gave one woman my name and number once again. Guess what, no return call nor email. I'm done contacting them because clearly professionalism is lacking in this dental office. Even though it is a far drive, I'm going to go back to my dentist in L.A.

I am extremely disappointed with the care I received at Barosum Dental in Upland. My experience…read moreleft me feeling unheard, misdiagnosed, and ultimately traumatized. While I was out of town on July 12, 2026, I developed severe pain on the lower right side of my mouth. As soon as I returned, I scheduled an emergency appointment for July 15. I also had a previously scheduled deep cleaning appointment for July 16. During my emergency visit, the female dentist appeared to minimize my concerns. Instead of focusing on the area where I was experiencing pain, she asked whether I had seen an endodontist for a referral from a year earlier and questioned a shadow in my gums that had existed for over 30 years on the opposite side of my mouth. I requested X-rays, and a 360-degree scan was performed. After reviewing the images, she told me everything looked fine, that I had no cavities, gave me Sensodyne toothpaste for tooth sensitivity, and said I was cleared to proceed with my deep cleaning the following day. Later that same day, the office coordinator called and told me they wanted me to see the endodontist before my cleaning. I went to the appointment, and within five minutes the endodontist identified a cavity. My primary dentist confirmed the finding and recommended that my wisdom tooth be extracted. I was extremely upset that my condition had been missed during my emergency visit. I asked to speak with the female dentist who had evaluated me, but she was unavailable. I scheduled the extraction for July 17, 2026. Because I had previously had a successful experience using nitrous oxide during another tooth extraction, I requested it again to help manage my anxiety. I was numbed for the procedure and was told I was receiving nitrous oxide, but I never felt its effects. I noticed the dental assistant was on the phone for much of the procedure, and it appeared that no one ensured the nasal cannula was properly positioned. I informed both the oral surgeon and the assistant that I did not feel like I was receiving the nitrous oxide, but my concerns were dismissed. I remained anxious throughout the procedure, and the extraction was ultimately unsuccessful. I left the office emotional, traumatized, and deeply disappointed. This was the worst dental experience I have ever had. As healthcare providers, listening to patients is essential. I repeatedly expressed my concerns and felt they were ignored every step of the way. I will not be returning to this office. I also plan to verify that my insurance was not billed for procedures that were not completed, including the deep cleaning and the unsuccessful tooth extraction. I hope this review encourages the office to improve communication, patient care, and attention to patient concerns so that others do not have a similar experience.
