We went to Cubby Bear before our ballgame. Definitely a locals hot spot. The sports memorabilia on the walls tells the story of all Chicago sports. Really cool stuff. The beer was cold and refreshing on a super hot day. I bought a Cubby Bear tie dye shirt for my kid. $10. She is gonna love it. Great place to stop and get a beer during our bucket list visit to Wrigley Field. read more

The Cubby Bear - Sign in the upper bar area. Really cool stuff - Sports Bars Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Great fun atmosphere for drinks before a Cubs game. Place is multi levels with lots of seating to eat or just have a few drinks. Several bars. I haven't eaten there yet just have enjoyed drinks multiple times when in town for Cubs games. Staff has always been nice and talkative. read more

Christina our waitress was the NICEST, SWEETEST ever!! Thank you for making our first time here in Chicago a memorable one! The pretzel sticks are top Tier, FRIES are so YUMMY, chicken fingers are a great choice! The turkey club was so fresh and delish and the salad was crisp and tasty. Great view of the stadium before the game. Fun place. Must go! Thanks Christina ! read more

Came in for Pickle fest!! I knew it would be packed but we got our drinks from the bar in the back area. It was packed but not as much. There was a live band that was playing 90s- 00s songs. The drinks were so good. We would definitely be back again. read more

The Cubby Bear - Sports Bars Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

If you have ever come to watch the Cubs play at Wrigley Field, you have to at least once, come across the street to Cubby Bear right after. It's a huge bar with a pretty big dance floor. We took a co-worker here after the game. With him being from out of town, we wanted him to experience all the fun and festivities that Wrigleyville offers after a Cubs game. I had not been to Cubby Bear in a long time and I forgot just how fun it was to be here. The music is loud and the people are loud and everyone is having fun and dancing and drinking. My crew and I stood by the bar and had some shots and drinks, swayed to the music and people watched. Service at the bar was surprisingly quick despite the crowd. After a while we moved to a section that just had tables and chairs and tvs, which was in a different section away from the dance floor. Here you could order typical bar food and hear yourself talk. We opted to not order food during our visit and just got another round of drinks instead. Those tots and fries were calling my name but I was outvoted as the crew wanted to hop to another bar. Cubby Bear is a great place to people watch. Lots of tipsy baseball fans all over. You have to come experience it at least once! read more

We just stopped in for a drink before the game. It was busy but bar service didn't take long. They had lots of options including local and national beers/seltzers. It was super loud which made it hard to visit so we just stuck around for one round. We did not order food here. read more

An iconic Chicago Sports Bar located across from Wrigley Field . We went on a Sunday afternoon to watch our granddaughter perform with the School of Rock Glenbrook along with two other School of Rock show teams. Plenty of seating available and the sound is fantastic but it can get loud at times. Typical bar food and drink are available by scanning their QR code.Parking is a challenge in the area. Established in 1953,the Cubby Bear is a must stop when in Wrigleyville. read more

Dam! What a cool place to visit. I'm not a baseball guy but want to go see Wrigley Field. Dam! What a cool view out of this place. A must go to check it out. read more

A big sports bar across from Wrigley Field. Convenient for pre and post game beers. Prices are decent. Did not try any food since we just popped in for a drink before the game. Not sure how many tables they have with seats - most people were standing. Fun and loud atmosphere. read more

I was bar hopping and really dissatisfied on this one. I know it's a staple in the Ville but it's more of a live event venue than a bar. They had a teenager band not many seats. Not my type of bar. Many options and this is not it. read more

Really good food and pretty good vibes in here. The service was good it felt welcoming aswell.

A bar right across the street from the stadium. It was very busy. They have a few different sections. They do serve food as well. The lighting was dim inside, and a lot of people were standing due to a limited number of tables, but once again, they were extremely busy. The staff was very nice. I would go back. read more

Food, ambience, and service are impeccable! Beef is as good as Aks down the street ! Say hi to Carlos, Datme , Weinie, Kelly, Racheal, and the rest of the happy crew!! read more

The world famous Cubby Bear. It's a bigger-than-it-looks bar, caddy corner from the Wrigley Field marqee, that is the perfect place for Cubs fans to gather before, after and even during a baseball game. It's also the perfect place to gather during an off day or the offseason. The staff said the bar books djs and cover bands for late night and weekend entertainment. This is a high volume place. There's a nice beer selection, which includes local options. There's also a good selection of spirits if you're wanting to ride in the fast lane. It's fun - sometimes too much fun. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I am extremely disappointed by my experience with this establishment and feel obligated to warn others. I was explicitly told by staff to have my friend park in a nearby lot off Addison. He was just picking us up and coming in to have one before we left. Within approximately two minutes of walking away, the vehicle was booted. I'm aware this may be a chicago thing, but within a couple of minutes is just predatory. This happened so quickly that it raises serious concerns about whether customers are being intentionally directed into a situation that results in immediate penalties. Being told to park somewhere and then having your vehicle immobilized almost immediately is unacceptable and demonstrates a lack of transparency and professionalism. This experience reflects very poorly on the integrity of the establishment and the way customers are treated. I strongly advise anyone considering visiting to be extremely cautious and to verify parking independently, regardless of what staff may tell you. Based on this experience, I will not be returning or supporting this business in the future. I hope management takes accountability and ensures no other customers are put in this position. FYI: they work in conjunction with Innovative parking solutions LLC. The absolute worst. Preying on people just to get an extra buck. read more

Always a good time here. Love coming here before a cubs game to get some killer food! Get there early it gets filled quick. Or you can after where there's is a good post game show! The live music is always awesome and often. Service is always up to par, have never had an issue which is hard to say! Plus it's a classic, def a must try! read more

It's iconic. Legendary. One of the Sports Bars. You can't visit Wrigley Field without a pregame at Cubby Bear. We stood at the bar just inside the main entrance. It was busy on a Cards Cubs game day, but plenty of space and we were able to order quickly. The beers were reasonably priced and it was a great fun vibe. Bonus points to the bathroom attendant...I've never seen one so well stocked! read more

Service is horrible on game day. They indicated it would take 15 minutes and it took over an hour. They also charged us for a meal we did not order. The waiter indicated that tap water wasn't an option and it is policy for you to buy $5 bottled water on "busy game days"... I later learned this was a scam from our waiter and we were allowed to get tap water. The Cubby Bear historically was a go to spot but it has changed and they need to rethink their customer service commitment. read more

The 2 bartenders were amazing and easy going along with the great service and drinks food was amazing too thank you.

Self seating bar/restaurant. Service was just okay. Waitress was no where to be found once we got our food so we couldn't get refills of our drinks. Food came out quick and pretty big portions. Garlic fries were good! My only complaint is I ordered a grey goose and water and I definitely didn't get grey goose and tasted like some cheap house vodka instead. read more

It was ok.... food was ok... ambiance was ok.... music was ok...everything was just average...It's right across from Wrigley Field so perfect for out of town visitors.... Only thing I did not appreciate was the not-so-friendly staff.... waitress was a blah and not attentive... I am from Los Angeles and on my first trip to Wrigley Field... When I arrived to the bar I was feeling excited...! I wanted to have drinks before the game...but instead of being friendly and pumping us up, the waitress flattened the energy we walked in with... I knew, then, that I did not want to give the bar my business. We just ate our dinner and left! I noticed there was a gal going around handing blue shots of some sort, but she never came to our table to offer... One shot could have ignited an evening of drinking at the bar... Unfortunately, I did not experience the Chicago bar scene before a Cubs game the way I should have... read more

I had an overall good experience here at the Cubby Bear. I came to see an emo/pop punk cover band and I had heard certain things about the Cubby Bear so I honestly wasn't expecting much. The venue is a pretty cool set-up - there are two bars that line both sides of the venue (at the time of the show only one bar was open), there are plenty of table and chairs in the middle, and they do leave room in the front for standing closer to live acts. Service was standard for any bar. I will say their choices for non-alcoholic options are pretty much just sodas so that was disappointing. Location is also super convenient as it is right next to Wrigley Field so hoping on the bus or red line is extremely easy. I'd definitely come back for another show. read more

Came here to watch the Texas football game so we were taken around the corner to go up to the separate third floor. We didn't realize we had to order at the bar so we were sitting awkwardly waiting for a while. The bar food is standard - I would say the chicken tenders were pretty great quality though. The Mac and cheese bites, mozzarella sticks, and corndog nuggets were nothing special though. They also didn't have champagne weirdly- I was craving a mimosa during this early Saturday football game! Opted for a margarita which wasn't too bad. read more

Horrible food. Horrible staff. After 3 visits and 2 being bad experience, we will never go back.

So I've been a long time fan of the Cubby Bear (for over 20 years). My wife and I were in town for a Cub's game and decided to stop by on Friday night (6/13/25). When we walked in, the place was dead and the bouncer told us (while on his phone) that there was a cover charge that night. My wife said, "no thanks," and the bouncer's said to my wife, "well then fuck off". Friday night and you can't fill your shit bar, and your bouncer treats your customers like that? What a disappointment. What a joke this bar has become. I will NEVER walk into the CubbyBear again and will make sure everyone I know hears about this crap. Fuck you! read more

Truthfully the only reason I stepped foot in here is because of the Latin Rhythms Salsa Sunday event. Bartender Johanna was super kind and attentive and had an awesome view of the iconic Wrigleyville Cubs stadium outside the window. Not expecting much from their food, decided to order a classic platter. Totally not worth it unless you're starving and need some calories. They did provide a selection of sauces but nothing special. I'm also going to age myself saying this but it was WAAAAY too loud that we ended up leaving early. read more

One of the classic stops along any Wrigleyville bar hop. A diverse drink menu will get you ready for the game, with friendly, knowledgeable staff from the front door to the bartenders. I was a little hesitant to eat here when I saw a 2.5 star rating on Yelp, but was pleasantly surprised!! The security was very nice and inviting. They were attentive and kindly walked with us to show us where the bathroom was located. Cindy, our waitress was friendly and patient. She checked in on us frequently to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was absolutely FIRE!! We got "The Platter" appetizer and everything was delicious! I also ordered a BYO sandwich and tater tots with chili and cheese. Bomb!! Not to mention the amazing view of Wrigley!! You won't be disappointed!! read more

My boyfriend and I had a Groupon for here that I wanted to use for the season but Covid ruined our plans. Luckily they did carry out which was amazing! We got to pick up curbside. We got the appetizer of Cubby Bear Nachos (I wanted pork but they didn't have any left)- still amazing!!! And very filling. We each got a burger- mine the cubby bear burger with bacon and peppers. Very cheesy! loved it! He got a cubby blue burger. I didn't try it but he enjoyed it. We even had leftovers!! A lot of food for $30. Looking forward to return to see the Cubs play once again! read more

Ahhhh....the Cubby Bear. This is an iconic and crazy fun dive bar to visit, whether a Cubs game or a live concert is your reason. The place is always loud, always crowded, and every inch of the floor is sticky from sloshed drinks. The restrooms aren't super awesome, and there have been many time where they have a restroom attendant working inside, expecting tips. So know before you go. They have a traditional bar food menu, which means pizza, fries, brats, and tots. The food isn't bad, and it's defintely cheaper than paying the jacked-up prices inside Wrigley Field, which is catty-corner across the street. So keep that in mind as you plan your day. The serving staff is typically pretty friendly as they work to get everyone served the drinks they are ordering. Tip your servers, because they work hard here on a busy night! read more

Badass! A Wrigleyville must!!! It's a dive but a blast on Cubs game day!!! Come in, grab a beer or several and some food!!!

The Cubby Bear is a staple for going to Wrigley Field! We went right before a game and the energy is awesome in this venue. The place is packed and everyone is excited for the game. We got a table right on the window facing Wrigley and the staff was swamped. They took a minute getting to us but once they did the service was quick, the food was quick as well and the staff was super friendly. My turkey wrap was pretty good! The food is nothing new and exciting but it is good. The venue really is made by the location and atmosphere. All the memorabilia and the TVs all over the walls make this a sports bar and everyone decked out in all their gear make it home. If you're going to Wrigley this is a must see! read more
