We stayed here for two nights for a getaway to wine country in the Summer Kitchen Cottage. The Cottage has two stories, with a living room and a little kitchenette on the first floor and the bedroom and bathroom on the second. It's a historic inn from the 1700's with lots of history - Jim, the owner, is great and will tell you all about the history of the property and the surrounding area. Max, the resident dog is also very friendly and will be happy to spend time with any dog lovers! Jim keeps the historic feel of the property, but the bathrooms and kitchenette were recently renovated. There's no tv, though so don't expect to lounge around in front of the tube all day! The inn is adjacent to Pippin Hill winery and a good location for visiting several wineries in the area. Breakfast is served daily in the main house, or given COVID concerns, they'll also bring breakfast to you. We had a lovely stay and enjoyed our morning chats with Jim and the other guests at breakfast. I'd definitely stay there again.

There's nothing like waking up to a delicious fresh breakfast. The innkeepers at this B&B know how to treat their guests' stomachs right. Located about fifteen minutes from downtown Charlottesville, you can't go wrong. Staying three nights here we were graced with three mornings of some of the best breakfast I've eaten. Every morning we were served a different pastry, a fruit dish of some sort and a main course. Some of the fruit was picked that morning, and the eggs come from chickens that live on site at the inn. The innkeeper is very knowledgeable about Charlottesville and the surrounding area. If you are curious about a particular restaurant or shop chances are he can tell you about it and give you directions. We stayed in the 'summer kitchen' suite, it's a separate building from the main inn. It has two floors with a living area a small kitchenette downstairs. The upstairs would be considered a master suite, it gives a nice separation from the living space downstairs. The building has a nice working wood burning stove that adds a real nice ambiance. This a a great place to stay if you're planning on visiting Charlottesville. It's close to the city, close to snowboarding and close to the wineries and breweries.

Our cottage on the property... Was the "summer kitchen" at one time.

We loved staying here. The Inn magically stops just short of luxury to maintains its period authenticity. So comfortable and beautiful. The hosts are wonderful; charming, knowledgable, entertaining and accommodating beyond words. The Inn and its property are rich in its own history. I will let the hosts tell you the stories and not spoil the fun. Just a few minutes from Charlottesville but far enough for stargazing. Next to a winery, apple orchards, and hiking. I just got home and I want to turn right around. I will be back soon just like all of the other guests who were there when we were.

This delightful little place just became my favorite bed and breakfast in the Commonwealth if Virginia. We stayed Saturday through Monday in the winter and had a wonderfully comfortable visit. The inn has modern conveniences yet still manages to capture a genuine 200-year-old emotion. The Pippin Hill Farm Vineyard and the Albemarle Cider Works are both within walking distance, and so is Dr. Ho's Pizza. The wonderful owners of the Inn at the Crossroads seems to have a lot of good hospitable traits in common with the owners of these other establishments, and they talk to each other about what they are doing to keep their small community happy. At the inn we were treated to great home-cooked local foods (egg soufflé with apples and cinnamon!), good wine (and cider!), wonderful hospitality and conversation, and a very comfortable bed in the cottage (and an awesome spa!). I recommend the Inn at the Crossroads to all my friends.

What an amazing place! My husband and I were in Charlottesville for the day picking apples and visiting local vineyards. The Inn was the perfect place to stay after a busy day. We stayed in the Americana Suite...the room was spacious and comfortable. Jim, the Innkeeper, explained the history of the Inn, our room and the area. The next morning coffee was available bright and early, we sat on the porch while the sun rose then had a delicious breakfast Jim prepared and served. It was accompanied with great conversation and laughter. After breakfast we took a long walk around the grounds with beautiful scernery. If you are in the area, even if it's just for the night, this is the perfect place to stay.

if youre thinking about staying here you should. Call to make your reservation. Jim the owner is such a great guy. extremely helpful and accommodating. If youre looking for something modern with tvs and good wifi then you should pass. this place has great history and great surroundings. it was very quiet and peaceful during my stay. The room was comfy and clean. I couldnt make it to the breakfast because of a race i had to head to but Jim was more than willing to set it up for me at 12 when i got back. Breakfast was great. the had some kind of crouton french toast, delicious, banana bread yumm, canadian bacon, yogurt and berries. everything was fresh and awesome. Jim also didnt rush me out. the room wasnt booked after me so he let me stay a few extra hours. Such a cool guy he left a great impression. If im ever in the area again this is where i would stay. HIghly recommend!! you wont be dissapointed. Military gets a discount :)

The location was great - it was close to all of the main wineries, but not far at all from the University-area. The room itself was fantastic. There's a nice patio to hang out outside, and the breakfast were fresh eggs (straight from the roosters!) and home cooked bread which made for great french toast. The B&B owner was friendly and helpful with suggestions. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it.

The views from the upstairs windows were breathtaking! Looking forward to going back and hiking the trails again. There is a great swimming hole up the road, just ask the innkeepers for directions. This would be an excellent place to hold a family reunion as they have two locations on the same property.
