The lounge has a lovely calm feel about it and the bar is proper cozy. Winter is the best time to visit when the log fires are burning. A good range of beer, wines and spirit and bar snacks. The food is really good. The menu and daily specials board has a good choice and at the time of writing, the current chef puts a lot of effort into turning out quality food with a touch of flair. This is one of those places that reminds you how small we used to be - I'm only 5ft 7 and I stoop through the worn wooden doors. I havn't eaten here, but there is also a well respected restaurant upstairs offering a good selection of seafood dishes. It's really well decked out inside. It's been refurbished but it has still kept that traditional, village pub feel which is so important in these types of places. Last time I checked that was £6.99 but that may well have changed. Really friendly bar staff here, and there's always good banter to be had with them and the regulars. It's one of those increasingly rare places these days where there's never any trouble, everyone seems to know each and get along, and there's an all round, homely relaxed vibe here. There's a pool table, dart board and a large seating area here too and although still cosy, there's always plenty of space here. This is where I'd normally write my main gripes and faults but I genuinely can't think of any! Full marks.

"So fresh" she sad. I avoided the fish as I'm not a massive lover of it and mainly just stuck to my delightful cider. The setting for this place really is beautiful and as the sun shined down upon us I couldn't think of too many places I'd rather of been (Probably the beach if my thoughts weren't hindered by the cider)

I wasn't so keen on the whole queueing up to order the food but thats just a little niggle. Food wasn't outstanding but it was better than average pub food and I loved that we could eat our meal and then go and enjoy a drink in the back garden while we digested the meal. The fish choice is great and not to be missed. I also really like the farmers market they run next door where we went to get some bits and pieces to try and recreate another masterpiece at home.
