It's really well decked out inside. It's been refurbished but it has still kept that traditional, village pub feel which is so important in these types of places. It's also apparently haunted and many locals claim to have seen some spooky goings on here. They do one of the best Sunday lunches here aswell, with your standard choice of meats. Last time I checked that was £6.99 but that may well have changed. Really friendly bar staff here, and there's always good banter to be had with them and the regulars. It's one of those increasingly rare places these days where there's never any trouble, everyone seems to know each and get along, and there's an all round, homely relaxed vibe here. There's a pool table, dart board and a large seating area here too and although still cosy, there's always plenty of space here. This is where I'd normally write my main gripes and faults but I genuinely can't think of any! Full marks.

It's a properly traditional pub, with low ceilings, old ornaments on the walls and a great tradiitonal menu. On summers days they also open up an outside area which serves burgers, bacon rolls and the like. The food here is always exemplary and well-priced and the staff are always super friendly. There's a lovely outdoor seating area which is a spacious, chilled out place to enjoy a sunny day. It's close proximity to Monknash beach also make it an ideal pit stop after a day by the seaside. I went in about two hours ago for a pint of Butty Bach, which is brewed in the Wye Valley. It's a fantastic, strong bitter and one I always have when visiting here. The odd celebrity has been spotted within these walls and it's not at all difficult to see why. In the local area, the Plough and Harrow is truly one of the finest traditional pubs.

Apparently, The Plough and Harrow was awarded the honour of being one of the ten best seaside pubs by The Guardian. It's not too hard to understand why. This is a traditional pub through and through. There's no loud music or slot machines to be found here. Instead there are open fires, delicious meaty aromas and that summery smell of spilt cider from the bar. The staff are exceptionally friendly and show a great amount of attention to detail. The food in The Plough and Harrow is delectable. Really. You know how everyone's favourite roast dinner is their own Mum's? Not anymore; the Plough wins out. So, in short, I agree with Gareth.

Unless you're going back to Bridgend Town. Anyways, you pick your own seats then order from the bar and pay. They'll bring your food. The people are nice enough. I'm guessing plenty of tourists come here after a day at the beach. I did get a few weird stares here and there but I'll chalk it up to be on a tan colour in nature. I ordered the chunky chips and a crab sandwich dish. I'm sure the crab isn't 100% crab. Possibly tuna inside.

Situated just at the final turnoff that takes you down that fantastic road to the beach, this is an ideal place to go for a drink or a warming meal after you've been wind or water-swept until your cheek are pink and full of healthy glows. The Three Golden Cups is frequented by locals and visitors to the area alike. This is a traditional pub which has been refurbished in the last couple of years, while keeping its warm and cosy atmosphere. Their food is tasty and they have good portion sizes. They also have a good deal of live music events which are always popular, so it's worth a look at their website to go to/avoid the live music; depending upon your tastes. This pub is warm and inviting as any pub can be. But its main appeal has to be the spectacular location. Go and enjoy. I urge you.

This has got to be one of the oldest pubs in South Wales, it's medieval and dates from 1380. This is one of those places that reminds you how small we used to be - I'm only 5ft 7 and I stoop through the worn wooden doors. I havn't eaten here, but there is also a well respected restaurant upstairs offering a good selection of seafood dishes. Dishes include: Brixham Crab Cake with baby leaves and lemon butter sauce (£5.25); Plaice Goujons with paprika and a sweet red pepper tartar sauce (£4.95); Roasted Fillet of Hake with a chorizo and roasted red pepper risotto ith tomato, garlic and orange sauce for £13.95 For the vegetarians on the day I visited there was: Tomato Fondue, Wild Mushroom and Aubergine Bake, finished with garlic crumb and poached egg (£4.95) and Rosemary and Truffle Arancini Risotto with a tomato, red onion and spring onion salsa ( £4.95). The restaurant opening times are Monday to Saturday from 7pm to 9.30pm. They also offer bar meals between 12 and 2 pm Mondays to Saturdays and evening meals Monday to Friday from 6 to 8 pm.
