The staff at the front desk went *way* above and beyond to make our stay in Jasper the best it could be. They gave tips on best parking, best hikes, best wildlife viewing, best local services. Add to this the quiet room, how well-stocked it was, comfortable, clean, great views of the mountains, good food at the restaurant, convenient to the visitors' center ... everything. When I visited Jasper in 2025, I booked this hotel. And I wasn't disappointed: the hot tub and pool was a great perk during a winter trip to Jasper. The room itself was comfortable and well-situated for a Jasper vacation. While the hotel restaurant was attractive I didn't have the opportunity to eat there due to it being booked for a private booking. That said, the reception staff were quite helpful and the hotel was well-situated. EV parking is just across the street which was really helpful as we took our EV on this trip. Most of Jasper was within convenient walking distance even in the winter weather. I would definitely stay here again. read more

I have stayed there two times so far! The main reason to start going there was our cat! The door doesn't open outside so in case the cat comes out of the room, it's safe. The staff were very friendly, polite and helpful both times! The quality of the room and services are good and I always enjoy the pool area especially after a day skiing or hiking! The distance from stores and restaurants is not long and there is a market right beside the hotel in case you need anything! In general I recommend this hotel and I'm sure I'll go back there again next trip! read more

Nice place on the edge of the main commercial street. Some tips in you are part of a tour package: 1. Ask for a room with a balcony. Most have one, but it is luck of the draw to get one if you don't ask. 2. Skip the breakfast. Though $20 CAN is par for the area, the eggs were dried out, and the fruit was still frozen like it was recently taken out of the freezer. What I liked: The coffee was good and we had a pleasant German chap who served us. I also liked they had a bar in the lobby and you could charge breakfast and drinks to the room. read more

The Crimson is a fantastic hotel located within walking distance of many amenities within the town. We went for the May long weekend and the prices were very reasonable for the quality of hotel and the time of year. The rooms are bright and clean with an appearance that made me think they were recently renovated within the last few years. There is also a pool and a restraunt on site. The staff we did interact with were all pleasant and accommodating. I think its important to note if you want a visit from housekeeping you need to let them know you would like it serviced or they don't do it. I believe it might be a policy left over from Covid but it wasn't a big deal for us. There are quite a few choices for lodging in Jasper but I think the Crimson definitely belongs near the top of the list. read more

A newly renovated gem in Jasper. While looking around for hotels, there's plenty of options. From bnb's to hotels that cost upwards of 1k a night. The Crimson looks unassuming, yet boasts all of the amenities of a 4 star hotel (or... maybe 3.5?). Upon entering the lobby, we were greeted by a fancy glass fireplace, lounge seating, and a beautiful zen waiting area. We booked our hotel on Expedia, and because of this we were put in a room with 2 double beds. I asked if there were any way to switch, and the woman at the front desk was SO friendly and accommodating. Not only did she switch our room, but she was trying to find one further from the elevator, and with a view (which I didn't even ask for!). We were bumped to a third floor room with one bed, and pretty awesome views of the mountains. Thank you for front desk lady for making our day!! The hotel looks very modern from the outside, lots of wrought iron and wood, grays, and straight lines. There's plenty of parking, and an overflow lot on the other side, apparently too. The rooms have been updated in the renovation as well. The room was massive, with plenty of unused floor space (great for long trips with big suitcases), plus the room had closet space, a fridge, tv, and lots of table top surface area too. The bed was unbelievably comfortable, always a plus. The bathroom was nice, one small complaint was the water temperature fluctuated from super hot to ice cold while showering, (and I know what you're thinking, but it was unrelated to toilet flushing). The hotels restaurant was newly changed (June 2018, I believe), and is now a burger joint called Authentic Burger. It's as expected, burgers, wine, fries, shakes, etc. The burgers were semi decent, but due to Canadian food safety laws, all chopped meat had to be cooked through - and I'm someone who likes my burgers medium, so felt a little strange about that. There's an indoor jacuzzi and pool, which sounds really strange - but our sore muscles needed some relief so we went down to check it out. Well, it's as weird as you think. No windows or views, just 4 tiles walls and a couple chairs down there. The pool and jacuzzi were decent, no complaints there - but pretty weird. We stayed down there for about 10 minutes before heading back up. Overall, great hotel in Jasper, slightly further back from the main town, so it's quiet, but only a 7-10 minute walk into the heart of downtown. I'd stay here again! read more

Nice modern rooms. A bit expensive, but that is to be expected in a town with limited supply of lodging. I slept great in my room and was very comfortable with the furnishings, bedding, etc. I appreciated that there were a lot of easily accessible outlets to use. My only complaints are that the view from my room was not great (looked over someone's yard/driveway) and also the door on my refrigerator would sometimes make this annoying buzzing/vibrating noise. I figured out that the vibrating stopped if I just jammed my luggage up against it, so that fixed the noise. The location is great, right next door to a grocery store and gas station and also walking distance to the "main street" of town with restaurants and shops galore. read more

The Crimson was a great place to base our Jasper stay October 18-20-2019. We had a studio room (room 319) for $200/night. Room included keurig (with pods), mini fridge for your leftovers, sink/dish soap, plastic plates/bowls/cutlery. We had two queen beds, if you want a king, request early as they were out of those rooms upon our arrival. The room was clean, fresh and updated, same as hotel. We had a balcony and were off the front of the property, overlooking the train yard (my two year old loved it), mountains and main street. The pool and hot tub in the basement were good. Nothing fancy but good. Gym has dumbbells up to 50, kettle bells, treadmill, elliptical, mats, bench, cables & pulleys. Also has an attached restaurant called Authentic Burger. The spot is a perfect base for exploring downtown Jasper, 5-10 minute walk from centre. read more

We had planned to stay in Jasper just for one night but decided to stay another night last minute. The hotel we were originally at did not have any availability for the next night so we called everywhere hoping we might get lucky with an opening! Most hotels were sold out but then we called the Crimson and they were able to fit us in at an surprisingly low rate and in a pet friendly room! We had to leave our original hotel at noon and although our check in at The Crimson was not until 4 pm, they said our room was ready at noon and that we could come right away! This was a blessing as the weather was extremely cold and we did not want to be cooped up in the car for a few hours. Another plus was that they did not put any additional funds on hold on top of the room rate. The room was extremely modern, it had a microwave, a fridge, a Keurig and a big screen TV! The pool is open until 11pm, which is perfect for a late night swim! We even had the option of a late check-out until 1pm. Their pet policy was great in that we were able to leave our pup if we wanted to go out to eat, as long as we let the front desk know when we left and they could call us if any concerns arose. Overall we were so excited with how well everything worked out and really thankful for the convenience offered at this hotel! read more

Newish Hotel. Room quality wise it is like a 3 star motel, similar to a holiday inn or a Premier Inn. Pros: - both heating and cooling in room - fast wifi - grocery store just a block away - comfy beds - decent showers Cons: - fridge makes loud noises at night - most rooms face the train tracks, so you do hear them, but in the background. However, light sleepers might have issues. - tiny bathroom - on the edge of town, so a bit of a walk to most places in town for food and drink - no pool, hot tub , jacuzzi or sauna Overall I would give 5 stars if this was like CAD150 a night and I was expecting a 3 star motel. But at CAD350+ a night during the peak August month, I expect more. At least it was better than the Best Western I stayed in during my trip as well. read more

This was my first time staying here since its upgrade and re-branding as the Crimson and there is a lot to like about this place. It is still not a full service hotel (no room service etc.) but it the most updated place in town. The décor is modern and yet warm and inviting, beds are still new and firm, linens crisp. We had a two queen bed mini-suite which included a fireplace, and kitchenette (microwave, fridge, coffee maker, dining table). The room was very spacious, but did not actually have any closet space, just a place to hang coats by the door. The bathroom was very bright and clean, but only had a shower, no tub. There was a safe in the credenza. The is a pool and hot tub on the lower level and storage for skis off the lobby. Parking is free and was never a problem. The hotel is right across the from the railway yards and trains pass by and cars are shunting all through the night. For light sleepers this might be a problem. It was not for me. This is pet-friendly hotel and from my son's allergic reaction, I think there had been a recent canine guest in our room even though I asked for a non-pet room. For that reason I will likely not return despite a mostly positive experience. read more

The room itself is decent for what you pay, the cleaning staff are nice if you end up talking to them, the front desk staff are rather smug. C200 restaurant is good however, food is good. A little over priced. The real deal breaker for myself that will make it that I never stay here again is the zero available parking for hotel guests! There are MAYBE 15-20 spots for the entire hotel and vehicles that are parked usually don't ever move. read more

Located in the same property as the old Amethyst Lodge, The Crimson brings new life to an already existing building. The theme of the décor is very Canadiana but not at all tacky. Clever art prints featuring the Queen, moose, and polar bears adorn the walls and wooden skis feature above the fireplace in the lobby. Our room, with two queen beds, was spacious and had plenty of room to move around in. The bathroom was modern and I loved the shower and toiletries provided. I took advantage of the hot tub a couple of times during my stay and it was a welcome relief. There is a small lap pool and gym as well. Front desk staff were always pleasant. There was a good selection of items during breakfast. Staff at the restaurant were generally good but I did have one annoying encounter with someone less than enthusiastic who was really a stickler about the breakfast vouchers - I had it in my hand but she made me walk over to the front desk to get it signed before she would accept it. Stickler for the letter of the law, I guess. Would stay again. read more

It is ok. Don't really see what all the hype is about. The lobby is beautiful and the facilities are nice. The rooms are good, but not fantastic. The building is poorly made.. you can hear everyone walking and closing doors. The bed is super comfy though. THE PARKING IS ABSOLUTELY AWFUL ! There are not nearly enough spots for the amount of people. Jasper is a small town and walking is no big deal in the summer; but if you need to walk from this hotel to downtown in the winter you're going to want to bundle up. It's a decent walk and sucks in -20. The hotel staff doesn't really seem to care when you complain about stuff. Clearly some of their staff doesn't care about their jobs. The restaurant (c200) is amazing ! The staff is so friendly and accommodating . And the food is delicious it's a little pricy but most restaurants in jasper are. Overall I would give it a 3 out of 5. They are asking too much money for what they are offering. I have spent less money and been happier with my stay. read more

My sister and I stayed for one night back in November 2020. Our room was very nice and the amenities were exactly what we needed, but the real highlight of our stay was the nice young man behind the desk who gave us a recommendation for a hiking spot. Dustin? Duncan? I wish I had a better memory for names, but he was SO kind and helpful and gave us such thorough directions to Maligne Lake, where the views were exactly as beautiful as he promised. Contemporary design and very clean, the smell in the room and corridor was fresh like baby powder. Location was perfect as it's walking distance to everything in downtown Jasper. My only negative is that the room is very small and tight, no room to lounge and we were right next to the parking lot so opening the drapes were not an option for us. read more

Jasper was in dire need of hotel modernization and its high time that the Crimson came to town. This is the newest of all the Mountain Park Lodge properties and very comparable in price to the other hotels. Everything is modern, clean and the location is great. Right in the middle as your driving through town. I'm not sure why everyone complains about the parking. Yes, the onsite parking is limited, but there is a HUGE lot literally across the street that is available to guests. It's not a far walk at all, probably even the same distance as if you were at one end of the parking lot. It's a great affordable option for families who are looking to have a relaxing trip to Jasper and the Fairmont or Sawridge are well out of the price range. The Crimson does a great job bridging the gap for the quality and value between the older hotels and the higher end ones. Not to mention they have some kick-ass Canadiana art that is very modern and fun. Great way to show international visitors what Canada is all about! read more

We stayed here 2 nights for a friend's wedding. Everyone was polite and friendly. Room was clean and the staff were very accommodating. I made a request to clean the room early for wedding pics and they came up right away. The best part though was a bartender who left work to go home and get his personal laptop, load my friends 180+ pics into power point and set up a slideshow for her- still can't believe it. Would stay again but would request a balcony suite as our room didn't have one. read more

This place has become our go to place when staying in Jasper. The rooms are more spacious than most which is great when you have all your winter gear and if you have more than 2 people in your room. We also really like the location as its close enough to walk to any of the restaurants in town but far enough down the strip so that its quiet. The only drawback is if you need the elevator for an upper floor room it can be a bit of a round about walk. read more

We are on a 3-month long roadtrip through the US / Canada and this was the worst hotel we've stayed in. Yes, the rooms are modern and new. Yes, the location is very convenient to the town. That's about where it ends. The people working the front desk were the rudest and least helpful we encountered on the trip so far. Stay away from room 101 unless you like road noise, door slamming and people stomping up the stairs at all hours of the night. Stay away from this hotel unless you like front desk people who blink at you blankly when you tell them about the noise and do nothing to try to help. read more
