I am usually unimpressed with haircuts I get, but this place just 'got me' and listened to exactly what I asked! It was also fun trying to avoid the scary parts of a horror movie that was on while I was trying to keep my head straight. When I first moved to Camarillo I went to Sport Clips to get my hair did because it was close to my house and it was easy to book a chair. However, after multiple haircuts where I thought I looked good when I left the place but then two days later you see your hair growing out all funky and uneven, I decided it was time to grow up and go to an actual barber. A quick Yelp search led me to The Craft Studios where I was lucky enough to meet Charlie. Let me just say that Charlie is a man of a beast when it comes to cutting hair. He actually took the time to look me over and give me advice on what might look best based on the way my hair grows instead of just giving me the ol' cookie-cutter routine. On top of always leaving me looking fly as hell, he's also just a good dude and a great conversationalist. He takes his time and doesn't let you leave until you are 100% stoked about the way you look. The Studio is a really cool place as well, always feels like your just hanging out with your homies and it has a really relaxing vibe. Do not go to JOE. He rushed the hair cut saying hes cut hair forever and knows how to cut fast. Ask me if i want to cut the sides off the top to have it stick up (i have longer curly hair on top) as im saying no leave it i like the curls he just cuts them and says youll like it. Now i have short hair all around my head and some long hair in the front. Also after seeing how bad the cut was he asked if i wanted a line up and i said no to keep him from pushing it back and i say clean it up only. First of all this is a barber shop. I'm an out-of-towner and I needed a haircut. I normally pay $50 for a haircut at home. I came here 3-4 weeks and got a haircut from Charlie and at the time the haircut was $20, so I was pleased with my haircut and tipped the kid $20 so it was $40 total. I came back 3-week later and got a haircut from Charlie again. When he finished, which he only took 10-minutes to cut my hair while leaving a few times to get something out of his car, just unprofessional!! I kindly asked, how much is the haircut? He answers $30, I still tipped him $10. This is not so much a review of Craft Studios but more of a review of the barber Charlie. Hey kid?! why couldn't you just be honest? $30 for a 10-minute haircut and the price goes up $10 from 3-weeks when I tipped you $20. It's not about the money as I normally pay $50 for the cut, it's about the principle. I get that you have a wife and kid you need to feed, but maybe you didn't pay attention to the life lessons on honesty and integrity. Remember kid, good news travels fast and bad news travels faster! Charles you are a dishonest kid! Before coming here, I would call and recommend asking how much a haircut is before coming to this place! Just my 2-cents.
