As one would expect for a location with an elementary school, the contents were all children's books. Many of them looked to be retired library books. It was designed by Marvin Penick and the idea was conceived by city councilman Mark Murphy. I think the best way to get here the first time is to GPS. You'll turn off of highway 92 or North Alabama Road onto Wiley Bridge Road. The road is narrow and it's through a residential neighborhood. (I wouldn't recommend coming here at night unless you are familiar with the roads.) You want to stay on Wiley for about 1/2 miles and then turn onto Mountain Park Road. The city hall is a small little cute cabin and the library is right on the porch. There are some comfortable furniture along with a coffee table for you to use. It's a fantastic little place for a family outing. Highly recommend it.

A few years ago apparently a bunch of "got nothing to do but live off the tax payer's dime busybodies" city officials in Leawood, Kansas told a 9 years old boy who had put a Little Free Library in his front lawn that he was breaking the "city code" prohibiting "detached structure" They told the 9 years old that he would face a fine and jail time if he didn't take it down.....because you know we don't have bigger problems out there...Well luckily here in Woodstock, GA we don't have a problem with free books.... so here is how it works.Take a book. Leave a book or read it and return it. The most important thing is it is free and anyone can use it. This one located inside Dupree park. It was created by Girl Scout Troop 10421.
