We have been here several times over the last couple years. Another place I thought I already reviewed. Heard about this place from our son's classmate. When we finally made it here, we were not disappointed. We ordered sandwiches from the kitchen inside while we shopped for sourdough bread and other baked goods. The bread is good. They also make several other baked goods. We like the cinnamon loaf. Very good! The process for ordering sandwiches is pretty simple. There's pencils to fill how the sandwich ordering form. Once you choose what you want on the sandwich you hand it to one of the employees or they have a box you place it in. They call your name when it's ready. This place does get busy at times. While you're waiting you can grab some chips and a drink from the cooler. The store has a lot to look through. There's all kinds of spices, seasonings, and other bakery needs. The store is relatively cramped inside when it's busy, but manageable to move around. It's been there a while so it does have a slight rustic look and feel to it. There's a covered porch in the front with tables and chairs to enjoy your sandwich. We have enjoyed our many visits here and will continue to stop in. Recommend giving this place a try. read more

The staff was so sweet and inviting. The shelves where well stocked and pricing was right there. I enjoyed the home baked goods. The sticky buns to the local honey butter. Can't go wrong trying this place. It's close enough to Jacksonville to be enjoyed be everyone. read more

If you're ever in this area, you must go out of your way to check out this cute little Amish bakery and goods shop!!! The BREAD - I could eat an entire loaf in one sitting. You can't go wrong with any of the breads. The regular sourdough and jalapeño cheddar are my favorite. It's the softest and most delicious thing you'll eat, and best thing in this area for a hundred miles. The sweet bread like apple nut, butter nut, cinnamon anything is to die for as well. Just pay the kind ladies the $4 and enjoy it! The grocery GOODS - this is a place where they get things in bulk, and divy it up into smaller containers in store, so your cost is significantly cheaper. They have great dried spices, BLUE POPCORN KERNELS, flour on flour on flour (incl bread flour), flax seed, oats, rice, CANDY, CHOCOLATE COVERED EVERYTHING, MORE CANDY. There is also a vast assortment of pickled everything, jams/jellies, local honey. I also picked up half a pound of Amish butter for under 4$ to eat with my hot freshly baked bread! Closer Sun and Mon, opens at 9 and bread is made throughout the day, but when they sell out- they sell out. Anyway. You really should go. It's only 35 min away from Jacksonville NC. there's nothing else to do in this area so go get some bread! I suppose if you needed some furniture or a wood barn, you could order from there too! Now that we're back home, they're going to be our go to. The barns and furniture are very high quality as well. A great place to go to for cookbooks, devotionals as well. read more

This is a really small and quaint Amish store on the side of a country road. They sell all kinds of fresh baked breads, pies and other delicious treats. They also sell local honey and other spices and baking needs for anything you can think of to make. For the kids they have an awesome candy selection. We stopped here on the way home from Emerald Isle. Their deli sandwiches are wonderful, the bread was delicious and all the toppings were great, especially the tomatoes that tasted like they had just come straight from the garden! We ate at a table just outside the front door and every time a new customer went inside the aroma that escaped was Heavenly! The fresh baked breads and cakes sitting out cooling in the bakery area were a sight to behold. I bought a small walnut pound cake that was still warm and when I got home and tasted it, I wished I had bought at least 2 more. Absolutely the best I've ever tasted!
