Their free WiFi is on and off like my previous toxic relationship ever since I logged on. The best parts were the beautiful, clean swimming pool with a fire pit patio and all the female concierges were welcoming and greet us every time we walked in and out of the hotel. It's conveniently located next to an Asian plaza and across the park, but the walk to the nearest bus stop is 15 minutes away, which felt like 30 minutes for me. A huge water feature on the atrium's ground floor relaxes guests during their phenomenal complimentary breakfast. And our small balcony provided views of the Puente Hills as a backdrop behind Brea's Birch Street. Despite being a 36-year-old hotel, it's been modernized and updated quite nicely. The pool is surrounded by trees and very private. The rooms are incredibly quiet. Maybe the only downside is that guests have to pay a daily rate for parking a car in the garage beneath the hotel. You'd think this would be included in the rather steep price we paid for a corner suite, or at least for us Hilton Honors loyalty members for nearly 20 years now! But all the other aspects about this facility are nice.

But let's be fair and start with the good stuff: my queen room was pretty damn spacious with comfy bedding and a nice lay out, especially for the rate I paid (we'll get to the caveats that go with that later). Secondly, check in was easy, prompt and friendly, and the lobby --- although it looks like it's straight out of 1985 --- was fairly large and inviting. Three, is the free breakfast that comes with. Value added right there for sure. There's also a pool, which again, is nothing to sneeze at for the price. Parking is fairly plentiful and there's a bunch of eateries and big box stores nearby. Now the bad-- I entered my room, turn on the light switch and... nothing. The other lights worked fine - except for inside the shower, which was pretty dim. Also the shower head height is sized for a small child. I mean come on. As for the elevator lighting? Yup, half of those were also burned out. Fitness room: Yes there is one, but it's fairly useless; the machines are either super basic or they don't work at all. Plus no cups at the water station. Room decor? Again, serviceable, but straight outta 1985, which is probably the last time it saw any updates. Also, at the time of my check in there was cleaning crew vacuuming out the empty rooms and hallway carpet, I guess it was maintenance. But the whole place stank with that ammonia cleaner smell and they had fans going for hours. Not a good first impression. If you just want a basic place to lay your head and good value for the money, you should be fine. Borderline 2 stars in my book but I'll give them 3 for the comfy bedding. In short, Days Inn, I'd like for you to stop living down to my expectations. Look up!

She was using vulgar language and drugged out talking to herself, next to the entrance, in front of my children. When we asked Martha (front desk) about her, her response was "we can't do anything about her, but we have private security. But they can't do anything about it... like wtf really!? Then we headed to the pool to find out it's closed for maintenance. Ok!? When asked how long, the employee said "I don't know" repeatedly. When asked if there was someone who would know, he said "nope, they don't know either." I asked if you could give us a manager's name who would know, and James responded with "no." Like what kind of dumb butt customer service is this... crap employees just love to be no help. Management needs to fire people that represent your business like that! When questioned about his responses, he said "you can just leave..." This place used to be a great place, but their employees and customer service are absolute trash. Truly reevaluate who represents your front desk, not to mention their sloppy half-ass attire. Now in the room, mold is growing on the wall in our room, and there is hair in the bathroom. I've seen worse, but with their customer service, we will never come back here. You can thank your employees for that! Hotels.com moved us to the Embassy Suites about 7 mins away. We loved the unique location on the "walk Street" (located on a sidewalk, not a street) within Venice, and enjoyed not having to get in our car all weekend as we went to various shops and restaurants within walking distance. We also biked to Santa Monica easily from the house on Metro Bikes and all in all just had a fantastic time catching up with friends in the comfortable living room.

The shower is only hot, no in between. The peep whole to our room was scratched from the inside looking outwards. The door lever lock did not work properly and our room number was crossed out with writing above it. Seemed sketchy. Especially after the 200 dollar deposit. At checkout I made sure to get a receipt reflecting the refund of the deposit as well as waited for them to also check the room and make sure nothing was " damaged or showed drug use ". Place just needs some touch ups. Overall would stay again for a quick stay due to it being near the cemetery I went to visit my aunts site after 4 years.

Most recently when I was working with an Internet company required to be in the field, I got extremely busy with phone calls, and had a huge deposit along with my booking for my room. When it was due to be rebooked, I wound rush downstairs since they would not take payment over the phone. One day, Ivonne, I believe, had called and informed me they had to re run my card, I was on the other line with my manager from work. She got extremely hostile with me and I hung up the phone on her. I had around $1500 deposit on hold for several days, I told her I would come re extend downstairs. She raised her voice and tone and I hung up the call, she called back and asked: "Did you just hang up on me? ", knowing I had a $1500 deposit on my room I was looking for my card to rebook. When I hung up the call, she called back and stated I could not rebook due to hanging up the call on her (very weird and personal I know), then I told her I would come down with the card to rebook, and she proceeds to say: "No you are not rebooking", and I asked to speak to higher management, and she stated she was higher management, and to leave the property. She got on a power trip and I had been staying there for a few weeks already, and wanted to speak to higher management about telling me to leave. She then jumps straight to saying: "And now you're getting abrasive, so if you do not leave the property, I will calling the police department". So at that point, not only was I being rudely told to leave with a large deposit on file (around $1500) she also threatened me with the police when I simply responded to her questions over the phone, she accused me of doing something I was not doing . I didn't actually have time to even argue with her since my boss kept calling me on the other line. I used to love staying here because they provide breakfast and meals. There are sketchy workers in the parking lot when you come and go at late hours of the night if you are alone. IVONNE HAS A TERRIBLE ATTITUDE, I NOTICED THIS THE FIRST WEEK OF MY CHECK IN WHEN I COMPLIMENTED HER HAIRCUT, AND SHE BATTED HER EYES AND SAID "THANK YOU" AND PROCEEDED TO CUT ME OFF SO SHE CAN REVERT BACK TO THE RESERVATION DISCUSSION, LOL she is super rude (I WAS JUST BEING FRIENDLY SINCE I HAD BEEN DRIVING ALL DAY AND WAS GLAD TO REST UP). I WILL BE POSTING THIS REVIEW ON SEVERAL PLATFORMS AS YOU DO NOT THREATEN PEOPLE WITH POLICE WHEN THEY HAVE NOT THREATENED YOU IN ANYWAY.
