This was absolutely distasteful, had my brothers wedding Event there we paid tons of money for service that wasn't provided. The food was cold and ran out despite us giving the number of people arriving. More than half our family came back hungry. Would NEVER RECOMMEND !!!! read more

Have been here a few times for different parties/receptions. The decor is a little to very dated and the staff are a little underwhelming but it seems to be a popular venue nonetheless. I'm guessing that's because their catering prices must be very reasonable. Plus. they do have a decent-sized parking lot. As for the food, it's decent (not a resounding endorsement, I know). I wouldn't classify it as high-end or anything but most items are nicely prepared and pretty filling (buffet). Last weekend, we were here a reception and a few of tiles on the floor of the large hall on the main level were loose. One tile at the tail end of the buffet line was so bad that when several guests - including me - stepped on it, it would tilt upward and cause you to lose your balance a little. Someone pointed it out to the staff but I don't think they did or could fix it right then and there. I did also notice that some of the table covers were a little dirty. Not what you want to see when you're attending a semi-formal occasion. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect clean/white linens, especially when it's for a special occasion. At the buffet, the only silverware they had out were forks. I know most of the items are easily edible with just a fork but when you have items such as (very) bony goat curry, a knife would help get some of that meat off. I'm sure some folks - especially those with small kids - could have also used a spoon. I'm not trying to nitpick but I found it odd that you can't at least have the option of multiple utensils. I wouldn't rush here for a meal but wouldn't decline coming for another such gathering in the future. read more

Neat and clean place. We had our child's party there recently in the lower level party hall. The staff and owner were helpful and accommodating. Nice color schemes and backdrops. The food was good with nice portion sizes for an Indian buffet party. The mango salad, fish, and chicken dishes were excellent. Did wish there was an elevator to reach the lower level for those who have issues taking stairs, they do have a chairlift service but not user friendly for everyone. read more

Been here many times.. never reviewed it... was here this past Saturday for a pre - engagement party known as ROKA or THAKA... desi folks will know what I am talkin about...supposedly it has a downstairs hall also but all the time I have come here which maybe thrice has been to the upstairs hall... This is a good venue for party of about 250 ppl max. especially if you gonna have a lot of dancing. We were for a punjabi occasion and rocked the dance floor all night .. the ceiling here is pretty low about 12 feet max which helps a lot with the effect of the music. The catering is a standard affair , pretty consistent and good.... there is ample parking outside , the ambience is good, and the decor is standard ... like most of the Desi party halls around... nothing exceptional... -1star of a not so good mens restroom, but hey when you have an OPEN BAR at a PUNJABI PARTY!!!! what do you expect??? read more

Cute place to have a gathering for any kind of party. The Indian food is good, not the best, but decent considering that it's a reception hall. Staff are nice, plenty of parking, and clean bathrooms. As long as the party is pumping, the place is a decent establishment to host a celebration of any kind. read more

My fiancé and I had our engagement party here with about 220 people in the upstairs hall. The whole event went smoothly, all the guests enjoyed the food (especially the fish fry and chili lamb!) and Tony was helpful through the whole process months before. The upstairs hall is also redone nicely with marble floors and freshly painted walls. Only complaint guests had was that the servers were clearing the tables too quickly before they were done with the meal. Overall everything went well and we're happy we had our event here! read more

Definitely recommend this place if you're in the area!! Over the years I have been to the cotillion many times, but the last few events the food has been outstanding. Having an Indian background I know how chicken tikka and daal should taste, frankly I haven't had better Indian food in New York than at cotillion. Having been to several events at Cotillion, i knew this was an option for a party i wanted to host last week. After inquiring several out of this world rates from a few venues that were quite astronomical for a simple event I was planning, I thought I'd try my luck with Cotillion. From the first phone call, the respect and importance of customer service was out of this world. Hence, the same day I opted to go in person to see if we could make the event happen there. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the manager, Manoj. Now, I have hosted many parties and events across the Island, but I have to make it clear, by far this has been the best and easiest planning I've done in the past 6 years at least. With the number of people i had, we were told we'd be getting the hall downstairs as not enough guests were met for the bigger hall on the main floor. That was fine as both halls are elegant, spacious, as well as seem to give a good atmosphere. As we discussed the pricing options with Manoj, he asked what our budget was and how best he could accommodate us. In the past, I've had people change prices on me during the event, not serve food that was agreed upon, or simply the quality of food/venue preps have been less than pleasant. This is what sets Cotillion apart from most places on LI, their respect and giving importance to the customer. The prices were not only reasonable, but very fair and offered over 14 food items throughout the event. On top of that, we were told that if the bigger hall is available on the day of the event, as a courtesy our event would be shifted upstairs on the main floor, which it was. From the time we put the deposit down to the day of the venue, the manager touched base to make sure everything would be perfect and if any changes or ideas we needed to address. This showed their level of integrity and willingness to make our event of about 100+ people as close to perfection as possible. Even, lighting and a beautiful stage with sofas was provided at no charge. How many times is it that at an event of 100+ people, every single person loved every single food option and went for seconds and thirds without any hesitation. All of the food items from the appetizers to dessert, each item was freshly prepared and tasted extraordinary. The menu was as follows: Appetizers: Pani Poori, Cauliflower Salt & Pepper, Tawa chicken seekh kabob & Tikka, Veg Samosa, Chili Chicken Dry. Entrees: Chicken Shahi Korma, Chili Fried Lamb, Paneer Makhni, Bhindi Masala, Chana Masala, Naan Assortment, Green Pea Pillao Salad/Dessert: Mango Salad, Macaroni Salad, Chocolate Ice Cream, Malai Kulfi, Gulab Jaman Drinks: Sodas, Mango Lassi As you can see, this menu was not a simple menu. Each item was not only delicious but the combination of Asian Fusion and Desi, totally was loved by guests. I have to make one point here, the Pani Puri here has got to be one of the best I've ever had outside of South Asia. Their tamarind water was out of this world and without it, the pani puri can be a deal breaker. Overall, the food was great, the service was top notch and the venue was beautifully prepped on time and each staff member went above and beyond to make sure the event was a hit. I for one will definitely be back for future events, as well as recommend this gem to anyone looking to have a party or occasion on the island. I inquired of The Cotillion if they would take me at the last minute, and they were very accommodating. No problem. The food was very good. It is pleasant. Not frilly, not fussy, but just right for my taste. Nice people there. Good service. Very pleased. Will use them again. read more

Very upset with this place. My sister had her mehndi here, we left all of our stuff in the bridal suite and someone opened the door while everyone was gone and stole all of our money! All the cash from my SISTER ( BRIDE) that she was using towards her stylist bill. $500 GONE. The Mehndi also, was not what we were expecting. Very upset, ruined her whole weekend. hello readers!!!we recently celebrated the 50 th wedding anniversary of one of our brothers and this review is about the small eats ....which was not that great ...the lunch was enjoyable but one item on the menu looked very weird ....GREEN in color !!!....the small eats item called samosa ...looked weird too ...and the pakodas were very oily and "sharp" like spikes ...there was no meat in that!!!...i mean not a gr8 quality presentation ...this is only my personal opinion as "tastes"differ .....and while on this recent review i also need to mention that in 2014 at my daughters wedding reception the hall was given to us about half hour late as the earlier event did not vacate in time ...as a result it was embarrassing for me as some guests were already there and did not like the "wait" and one guest made a comment "that this is NOT acceptable"!!!and the other fact is that as soon as we arrived ...the owner said that he gave us the hall "exactly " at the same time as planned ....which was not true ...then after we settled the bill ...(a discount was given for $268 ) we realized that they had charged us 300 dlrs extra for one table ...so normally we would expect a refund of the 300 paid extra ...but it was not done as they gave us the discount after realizing that we were charged extra 300 $ (there was an interim meeting with the owner by the staff be4 the discount was given) !!!so this is NOT very professional!!!it is NOT always about the money ..there has to be some scruples ...about food quality etc well...tastes differ not not this issue !!!so i strongly recommend that the business should charge clients for not vacating the property in time and that amount should be paid to the client in distress ...just as a token ...but this also cannot mitigate the embarrassment caused as there are different kinds of people !!!i have ALWAYS been genuine in all my activities and call "a spade a spade"...these are facts which cannot be refuted ....and just to mention the owner told his staff that we can eat at their place upto 200 dlrs (excluding drinks) ...this is NOT the way business is done ....i will NEVER recommend anyone to cotillion ....(as if they care!!!!) read more

We had my sister's wedding here and it was terrible. The air conditioner "broke" (they had no backup whatsoever for a WEDDING HALL) and they provided a party of about 150 people with only 5 fans. Such a disappointing experience with this place. The food was okay, not too shabby. I would not recommend this place. read more

Was here recently for a large birthday party in one of the banquet rooms and have only great things to say. The food was excellent - we had a pre-set menu which offered a nice variety of vegetarian and meat dishes. Some of the best spicy paneer I have ever had! Very friendly and courteous staff. Food was offered up very quickly and plates were continuously being cleared. Though there were several parties going on that evening, I felt we received lots of care and attention.
