I went for a cup of seafood chowder to start, followed by the steak sandwich. The chowder was just okay in my opinion. A bit too salty and not as thick as I like it. However, I may be a chowder snob. The steak sandwich in the other hand was unreal! Chunky chips, thick sliced bread and the most tender cut of steak. Perfect for a sandwich. I engulfed all the food. The chips were a winner. Fureys tends to be a busy spot, so you may have to wait to be seated. The staff are amazing and handle your wait really well. We were seated and taken care of really quickly. Definitely worth a visit if you are passing by.

Warmly greeted by staff and in the Bar were Local's chatting and enjoying pints of Guinness. Out the back was a beer garden and I could not understand why this was not promoted better, I then ordered from there menu and the food was excellent and very keenly priced. Alot of musician's were gathering in the lounge and the music started and I had a fantastic night, so much so I had to get a bed for the night in their B & B, which is newly refurbished and very tastefully decorated. If you happen to be passing I would recommend that you pay this Pub a visit and hope you will have the same enjoyable experience that I had. I would rate my experience very highly.

Was in for Sunday lunch here and ordered the Sirloin Steak (€15 good value) and was looking forward to it but somebody made a mistake with the menu. Not the friendly waitresses fault and I ordered the Turkey and ham instead (I felt it was far enough past Christmas to start enjoying this dish again). Food arrived in good time and I had ordered no veg but half chips/half potatoes. Somebody is on serious portion control here. Not that there wasn't enough but I may be used to a bit more being piled on my plate. One roasty and one scoop of mash and a side plate not over flowing with chip. My only other minor issue was another one or two more fluid oz of gravy wouldn't have gone to waste. Food was very tasty and I polished the lot (portion size was probably spot on). Followed it up with the very tasty chocolate fudge cake with ice cream. Toilets down the stairs. TV's on around the place with sport of the day. All in all no real complaints if I'm being honest. Staff exceptionally friendly and I'll be back.

I cannot believe how large this pub is inside! We stopped by after seeing it on a "Traditional Pubs…read moreof Ireland" poster, and because my grandfather's name was James Griffin. The atmosphere was perfect! It was early Sunday morning, and there were already a few locals inside having their morning beer and reading the newspaper. I did some exploring because it looks so small on the outside, but you get in, and it just keeps going and going. Looks like they get large crowds during the evenings, and even offer lots of live music and DJs. The bartender was friendly.

Step out back and find a covered & climate controlled patio that is huge! They have a large smoking patio area (you can't smoke inside in Ireland either). Thru the patio, you can see a big events room that you can host a reception, party, meeting, whatever. It's been a few months since my last visit, but I've heard they have a new beer garden too! Oh yes, the drinks...the Guinness is perfect. You can get almost any tasty beverage here from a nice bartender. The owner is hands-on and always working to keep this place top notch.

Yes the oldest!!! You'll see official Guinness book of world records material listed on the inside wall. Of course the outside and inside has been revamped, but the bones remain. Parking was not available out front, but if you walk a few blocks away, you'll find a reasonable public parking lot. The bar was large, upon entrance; there's that room, with additional rooms as you continue further towards the back. Plenty of seating, I imagine it gets pretty busy as it gets closer to evening. Clean restrooms were available. Friendly service and reasonable prices. We ordered a Smithwick and hard cider for a little over 9 Euros. Put this spot on your must bar list when in Ireland!

Frank behind the bar made us feel like locals and told us all about the history of the establishment and the best places to see in town. Go to Trim, tour the castle and abbey ruins, walk the Porchfield loop, grab a pint at Marcie Regan's and then go back to Brogan's for the rest of the night.
