I was on a Phillip Island tour excursion out of Melbourne, and the tour bus stopped in Cowes for the dinner break. The tour guide said a few words about there being a lot of different kinds of restaurants in town, but basically left us on our own to find dinner.
My niece and I planned to walk around, compare a few menus, and find a place to eat, but a shop owner stepped out of her clothing store and I asked for suggestions. She suggested The Corner, and we decided to go with that recommendation. It was great.
I had a hot chicken sandwich with avocado and bacon and it was fresh and delicious. My niece had a burger and fries and she thought it was great too. As a quick and filling dinner, it was perfect.
The atmosphere is diner-like, so I'm judging it in that category. One orders at the counter and the food is delivered to the table. read more
