I was working in Marshfield one day this past fall and was early for my appointment and had a long day ahead of my. I decided to get breakfast and stopped here. What a find! The service was so good, friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was upbeat and everyone in there seemed happy and vibrant. I love this place! We went here on a Sunday morning. I checked google and looked at the estimates on time and it said it was busiest at 9 so we ended up getting there about 845... so many people came after. Our wait was about 15 minutes, but it was a beautiful day and there is a big cemetery right there that we explored. Service was good, not great, but they were packed inside and out, and we were in no rush. My food was so bomb. Everyone liked it. Their menu is huge. I tried someone's banana pancakes and they were the fluffiest softest pancakes I have ever had I got the crab cakes Benedict the crab cakes were not frozen and were great I love it and will be going back! read more

My daughter and I went on a whim after a day of sledding. She ordered hot chocolate and it came with a mountain of whipped cream, which made us both happy. She enjoyed her grilled cheese and I also liked the burrito. Looks like they're renovating - it'll be nice to see once it's complete. She wants to go again for the snowman pancakes. Don't get it!!! Been there 4 times..it's a good way to kill three hours but I'd rather drive a bit further and avoid the pain...limited parking, wait is always 10 minutes longer than the say... limited GF options, and staff seems miserable... food is decent otherwise 1 star. read more

I went here recently with my aunt and cousin. I wish I lived closer. My cousin recommended the SMORES iced coffee. It was delicious! I then got one of their breakfast bowls, the french bowl, it was amazing. Home fires, sausage, scrambled eggs, french toast strips, with maple syrup...OH MY! Owner was rude and short after an incident where a person I was with got hurt walking into the restaurant. The food was good but dealing with a person like that (the owner) makes me never want to go back. it could have been handled much more professionally and politely. Was always my favorite. Every time i go back the prices have gone up - which i understand. But I've noticed 3 increases since covid. And today my 7 layer bowl is now served with guacamole instead of avo slices, and it no longer comes with the flatbread. Probably would have chosen something else, had i known. Found this spot on Yelp while I was in Kingston. Small place. Food was delicious. The menu is quite big. They have a lot of special items on the menu. I think there's something on there for everyone. What a hidden gem! Great service, excellent food and reasonably priced. It's not a huge spot so there can be a wait. Give your cell number and you can wander outside until table is available. Even when packed staff is great! I recommend blueberry pancakes or sausage gravy and biscuits. Both possibly the BEST I've ever had. Try the signature Au Gratin potatoes. read more

They have an app that shows you how long the wait is, which I learned while waiting the "30 minutes" the hostess said it would take. Turned out the wait was more like an hour. I could have gotten errands done had she told me the actual wait time. I feel like its a bait and switch to get you to stay. They have an app where you can see the actual time. Captain Crunch French Toast. End of review. No really though, this place was phenomenal. It's super tiny so be prepared to wait, but don't give up on your dreams of eating here. If you're not dreaming of eating here, you should be. As an avid breakfast lover, this menu speaks to my soul on an intimate level. If i could have picked one of everything, I absolutely would have. Reining in my voracious appetite, I went with the nacho eggs and Captain Crunch French Toast. The Reuben bowl and standard 3 eggs with toast and sausage were also sampled. I think those were good, idk, I was distracted by the happy amazingness in front of me. The nacho eggs are a dozen tortilla bites stuffed with scrambled eggs, salsa and cheese. Not only were they super fun to eat, way easier than a breakfast burrito, they were also delicious. The Captain Crunch French Toast was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, drizzled with cereal, chocolate syrup and regular syrup. I would eat this every day. Last meal on earth kind of situation. I also got a junior mint iced coffee and I will say, next time I'd leave that to Mary Lou's. Nice, friendly waitstaff and a cheerful atmosphere. Excellent food and service. I got the Portuguese omelet with spicy home fries. Amazing. I usually skip breakfast because I'm not really a fan of breakfast food. But this was great. Spicy enough that I did not add any hot sauce. My teenage sons each got a full stack (3 cakes) of pancakes and didnt come close to finishing it. Neither used syrup on their pancakes (1-Oreos and 1-Reese's peanut butter cups) that came with whip cream around the edge. My wife got the caprese prosciutto omelet with the cheesy home fries. She says very flavorful and large portions. Was every bit as good as she hoped. Our waitress was very helpful and attentive. Trying to figure out how to make another stop during our stay. read more

Wow---what a great find!!! First time in Mass, driving south from Boston to The Cape and got hungry. Yelped it and sounded good. The menu is many pages and it all sounds pretty amazing (captain crunch French toast?!? Portuguese sweet bread French toast!) I had the blueberry pancake---SO tall and fluffy! Hubby had the Reuben sandwich---mmmm! So flavorful with the sauerkraut and dressing sauce! Son had the Portuguese scramble with cheesy potatoes au gratin and a Portuguese muffin--like a mix between an English muffin and a crumpet. All were delicious, great portions (nothing left on our plates!) and the wait staff were friendly and helpful. Side note---beautiful cemetery from the 1600s right next door for a little stroll to settle before heading back on the road. Definitely recommend! read more

It's a clean, well-lit, attractive interior with friendly servers (who seem genuinely happy to be there) and very good food, cooked with skill and not over-portioned greasy stuff you usually get at a small town breakfast spot. I knew a friend who worked here. The owners are the worst people my friend has ever met. Everyone is disposable, they fired multiple people for crying. They don't give their workers breaks even though it's a seven hour shift which is ILLEGAL. Bill has anger issues and threatens his workers and Tammy has been called out multiple times by customers for yelling at her employees. Also the workers never see the total amount of tips made which is alarming. Do not eat here if you care about an employee's well being :) read more

Odd way of being seated....If its your first visit make sure you go to the counter and put your name on the "to be seated" list or you will never be waited on and you'll stand there waiting like a newbie. On to the food. Very good. Had the Big Boy egg scramble (eggs, bacon, sausage, and ham) a la carte. Not enormous but very filling. If nothing else I am now hooked on Cholula hot sauce which was available at every table. Delicious addition to my scramble. read more

They have a big menu which usually makes me worry and I go with the spicy smoked salmon egg sandwich. Perhaps I should get a discount for remembering than mouthful. It was fantastic. Yes, I will try to eat here as many times as I can while I'm here. That's my goal at least. I'm always nervous when I try small diners because I'm not sure how I'll be received as a solo eater. You know because you don't necessary have to pay attention to me and I'm a single female. Anyway, both waitresses were so friendly and helpful. The right amount of attentiveness and I didn't have to wait forever for my check after. As for the food, I was pleased by both the crab eggs Benedict and the conquistador. Food is creative, tastes great, and titled with fun names. This place is small though. I mean, if you're aiming for a party larger than 4, you may want to see if they'll cater instead because they don't have the space. Not a turn off for me because, again, I tend to eat alone. So, I was definitely serious about maybe/probably/definitely trying to eat at this place as often as I'm able to while I'm in town. It's 2 miles up the road so there's no reason not to. read more

My mother likes sandwiches but they have to be exactly to her very specific liking or they're simply not good, not good at all. One simple chicken salad with tomato on ciabatta from The Corner Cafe and she was hooked! Thank god. We had take out sandwiches this weekend - a Turkey Gobbler on ciabatta was stuffed with turkey with cranberry sauce and a nice enough stuffing, though a bit bland. The aforementioned chicken salad was once again a hit. A big Reuben filled up the bottomless pit that is a 12 year old to satisfaction- you can substitute coleslaw for sauerkraut if you like. A sophisticated teen-aged palate liked the Brooklyn, a spoof on a Reuben: roast beef, caramelized onion, coleslaw, thousand island on toasted rye. Juicy hot dogs were grilled, on crispy rolls and condiment-ed to order. We liked everything, it was good and priced reasonably. My only quibble is that sure, the food was good but there wasn't a wow to be heard. Nice sandwiches, nice people running the Corner Cafe and nice prices so I guess it's win all around, Personally, I just like to see or taste something different from what I can make at home. On the other hand, the food is solid, dependable and reasonably priced so you can go and get a good meal, breakfast or lunch (never had breakfast, so can't comment). The bread choices are good and a bit different from the run of the mill white or wheat. There are grilled paninis, salads, wraps and subs as well as individual flat bread pizzas and I'm hoping that while working through the menu I'll find the "wow's" in there. Oh and there are dinner trays for take out, small or large feeding four or more: standard selections like chicken parm with ziti, spinach pie, chicken cordon bleu, etc. Good stuff. read more
