My experience was wonderful! The food was delicious and the service was great. Our server Alex was AWESOME!

Simply put the management was enable to resolve a simple mistake that the wait staff made. Charged $11.99 twice for 18 wings however only received 30 wings. When this was brought to the wait staff and management's attention they explained that they actually charged $12.99 for 12 wings times 2 and $5.99 for 6 wings to make the 30 wings. As the customer all that was requested was to take $4.00 off the bill which would of been correct. The management refused to make it right and told two people in our party to "shut up" and other unprofessional comments when they were told of their terrible customer service. Additionally, the price gauging was actually not the most concerning part of the dinning experience. The food was average at best! The hamburger meat was of very poor quality, the broccoli was bland and cold, and the flounder must of been recently thawed as it was mushy. I will complement them on their baked potato. I have frequented virtually every resturant in Griffin Georgia and the Corner Cafe is by far the poorest. I was back in Griffin tonight coming from the Georgia national fair. The food was great and the service was wonderful. I still highly recommend this very much wonderful place will be back. 7/12/17 Here again with my grand daughter for her birthday. She wanted to go there for her birthday for supper. She had eaten there for lunch liked it so much she wanted to go for supper. It was wonderful. All of us had another great dinner. If I lived in Griffin I would be there weekly. Although I know The Corner Cafe is a staple in the local food arena I cant say that I love it. Parking is iffy. Located on the main thoroughfare downtown griffin there is a lot of parking but you cant ever find any during normal business hours. The service was average as we had to ask our server for tea refills several times as she passed by us going to other tables. The food was average. Not a lot of taste. Kind of bland. Admittedly, we did not try the desert which seems to be a hot commodity at the corner cafe. The pies and cakes did look delicious. We decided that we would give the spot an extra visit and update our review if so warranted. We will give it a few weeks and come back to try again. read more

What a simply delightful downtown gem. This place has the feel of a 1950s dive or diner but has an eclectic enough menu to match wits with any upscale restaurant featuring specialty Americana. I stopped in here today for a late lunch after leaving an appointment and was improved with the immediate wealth of hospital I witness and felt--not just for me but for all of the guests. I ordered the Louisiana Chicken, which, give the name, I was afraid was going to be too spicy, but the beautiful waitress informed me that it is not an overpowering spiciness to it--it is just well-seasoned, and my God was she right. The portion was large and full of delicious flavor. The food was hot and came out quickly. I started with the Garden Salad which was scrumptious and a great way to start the meal. They also have an assortments of cakes and various in-house desserts, and I tried the Red Velvet Cake, which was not a traditionally Southern-prepared Red Velvet. It was a delicious, but the cream cheese icing seemed to almost be a mixture with buttercream and lacked pecans. It didn't taste homemade but more along the lines of a store bought preparation. I used to live in Griffin for 3 years. Left town March '21. The only thing I miss is Corner Cafe. Service always was great, food was always wonderful. Lots of different ethnicities not just American food. Lots of very yummy deserts. I really miss this place. Only 2 problems. Only 1 unisex restroom. Kind a strange. Also this place is in middle of downtown so can be a little difficult to find parking. May have to go a block or 2 away. Those 2 reasons are why 4 not 5 stars. read more

We got cheese dip, the grilled tilapia with side salad and ranch, a cheese burger with fries, and veggie fried rice. All were very good! Hot crispy tortilla chips, fish was cooked and seasoned perfectly, the ranch was so good I ate the fries with it, hamburger was juicy and cooked just right, and the rice had an array of veggies and the sauce was spot on! This is a good local spot to go for comfort food. Most is made fresh (the soup is outstanding) but some things are obviously fresh/frozen (chicken fingers). The portions are really large and the prices are great for what you get. My husband loves the chicken fried steak dinner ($9.25) and my son loves the GINORMOUS cake called Cookie Monster. We just ate here for lunch and were very impressed! We were a little worried at first because the place was packed - we got the last open table - but the service was quick and friendly. The atmosphere was nice and cozy, although it was a little loud. I had the corned beef reuben and my husband had the chicken parmesan sandwich. We saw this place on the way to Slices, a cardboard sign on the window said "Slaw Dogs". Yum, slaw dogs!, we all said. Lets go there next week! Outside looks a bit cafe-like, I expected linoleum and tile and a bit of rough, but inside is a big surprise. Its very nicely done out, all wood, with a big inviting bar. Large beer list. The menu is all sandwiches and salads. You order at the counter and they bring it to you, which is fine except the counter guy is surly, humorless and not helpful. He actually makes the place a 2 star, but the renovation was so surprising and warm that I am popping it up a star. The food, well it was slaw dogs. My brother and I had two cause one is really not enough for lunch. They were okay but not a reason to return. The sides of potato or macaroni salad were pretty bad. Well first of all we sat down at the table and the roof started leaking on my dad's half bald head. After moving tables we finally got our food, and quickly realize that our sweet potato fries were more raw and a bit crunchy, easy to confuse with carrots. Next, my dad's chicken fajita burrito had FISH in it. FISH. In a burrito. After pulling out a yummy piece of long hair, my mom and I agreed that our hamburgers tasted like they had just been unfrozen and deployed for action for the fist time since the cold war like Captain America. It's impressive that the kitchen puts out such a variety and never fails to please me with whatever I choose. Can't help but love a nice wait staff and good prices for large portions!
