This review is for the physical therapy department of The Core. The physical therapy wing is on the 2nd floor of the Banner medical center building. There is a ton of parking and finding your way around is very easy and straightforward. I came here a few days a week for about 6 weeks and have had a really great experience. The people working here are very friendly and do a good job of finding exercises to target problem areas. They also have an app that can be used to do your exercises at home. The waiting area is small, but there usually isn't much of a wait. Mollie and Zack are awesome! I can't recommend this place enough. read more

Very disappointed with aftercare. Once released from surgery. Will not be using their pt people. Find more compassionate pt. Or do it myself! Dr Rais has no bedside manners ! Came in to get stitches out. After a week. He tore through each layer of half cast. Could of use scissors. Held hand down, removed the stitches. Than proceeded to grab thumb and show me no more scraping bone to bone. I was in absolute tears from pain. Told me to take Ibuprofen. Would've been great if it hadn't been major surgery where they took a bone out and replace tendons.I felt physically assaulted by this doctor the way he treated me just big smile on his face like look I fixed it goodbye read more

Wow! This place is incredibly unprofessional! This is my third time being here. First time was with my grandmother and it was a pretty pleasant visit, but then once it was my turn things turned for the worst. I came in thinking I was getting an MRI done, but apparently it was for an XRAY, miscommunication I suppose, that's fine. But what pissed me off was when the doctor called me back to go over the imaging results, she basically told me there's nothing wrong with my injury and that it healed itself within 6 months time. WELL HELLO?! If it healed itself and I'm A OK, then why am I back and my physical therapist and primary doctor requesting for an MRI? This doctor completely dismissed what I had to say and basically told me it would be a waste of time for me to go get an MRI and didn't recommend it.. A week later, I went against what she recommended and got an MRI anyways, and my PCP called me telling me I had 5 different diagnosis from my injury, so of course naturally I request to come back here to throw it in this doctors face. So now I'm back, sitting in the waiting room after I came in and went to the check in counter, only to be ignored for 5 minutes. I was literally standing there, just so some chick in glasses, a side braid and a black lady could talk about labor and how women after giving birth get checked out of the hospitals super quick nowadays. Of course they finished their conversation before even acknowledging me, and when side braid asked me what I was in for, it was like I was an A HOLE for coming in to check in. read more

After seeing Dr. Hess, I was assigned to a pain management doctor--Dr. Wallace. We discussed many things and came up with the right treatment! I am so relieved to have both Dr. Hess and Dr. Wallace on my "team!" Dr. Wallace's MA Kristina was wonderful as she retrieved my medical records from my primary physician so Dr. Wallace could review. Dr. Mark Allen and his assistant, Megan are worthy of kudos, hats off, high fives and more. After having had a not so great experience with another physician in this organization, I presented in pain and teary-eyed. Megan provided me with encouragement and reassurance right away. Update: Received a call on October 14 from SM Imaging. They received a referral from The CORE Institute for the left knee referral! When I told her that I called The CORE Institute a week ago to cancel the appointment, she was surprised. So, I guess no one made a note on my account about cancelling the MRI. I chose The CORE Instititute because I believed it was one stop shopping. If I had known they didn't even do in-house imaging, I would never have chosen this business! read more

I had a great experience from check-in, to surgery, to my post-op appointment, to my final check-out.. The administrative staff, the x-ray tech and medical assistants are sharp and friendly. Dr. Raia listens to my questions and feedback and speaks clearly and confidently on his practice. I was told all my options and the possible effects of them. I wanted a PT location close to my house but one that was highly recommended. I found both at CORE Mesa. My first visit was to 'check it out' and I made my initial appointment at that time. My surgery was postponed so I had to reschedule and Kathy and Lindi in the front office were more than accommodating. After my first appointment with Garret Bruno I knew I'd found the right place to have my physical therapy. Brandon Jones and Nataly were also beneficial in my quick rehab. I always found everyone knowledgeable, professional and caring. I would most definitely recommend CORE and give them five stars. read more

Went here or a minor fracture because my insurance was accepted. Front office was polite and helpful saw a PA (Melissa Barrett) and she was also very nice and knowledgeable. I was informed about the kind of fracture I had and why it wouldn't require treatment. This was great news. Healed up jut as she said it would. First off good luck on finding a place because the location that they had had three different core offices listed on the door no signage no nothing just walk around until you find it great move. Terrible place to go to the doctor more like a meat packing facility then a doctors office. My Wife women had a surgery that went great the after care though was in adequate at best. The doctor actually ripped off the cast off my wife's arm causing her to be left in tears, and no apology then yanked her surgically repaired hand to show that is moved well saying looks no problem. Then without any anesthesia just clip the stitches and left a few! Dr acted with no compassion or that he had time to actually come in and do his job and talk to us about the after care it was Wham! Bam thank you ma'am out the door in less than five minutes. read more

I went here after I had a serious fall and direct blow to my elbow. The emergency room referred me to the Core Institute with a possible fracture. When I went in for my appointment, the X-ray tech was very rude and unwilling to help me by explaining how he wanted me to twist my arm for the scans. When I asked if I had it correct, he seemed very aggravated. While in the exam room, a very nice nurse cut my splint off and offered me a pillow to prop up my arm. That was about the greatest ounce of courtesy I received. When the doctor came in, she seemed very confused as to why I was there. She said she saw no fracture and to make a follow up appointment for 2 weeks, but my elbow would probably be fine by then and I would probably end up canceling it. Rude! She also had her PA look at the X-ray and he made a comment about how he could zoom into the X-ray as much as he could and maybe find a little scuff on the bone that probably wasn't from the fall. They offered me more pain killers but warned me of how addictive they are and to only take them if I was in pain. Really I felt totally blown off and like my pain wasn't real. Fast forward to two weeks later, I kept my appointment I had made but I went to see a different doctor at the Core. I was in the exam room for maybe 2 minutes. The doctor glanced at my elbow X-ray and told me to start physical therapy. He didn't look at my elbow, feel it, or even ask anything about it. At least with this visit I felt like I got somewhere: physical therapy. I didn't do my physical therapy with the Core, but was planning on going back for another reevaluation due to my continuing elbow pain and issues (silly to go back, I know). I ended up going to see a different doctor not at the Core and I didn't have my X-rays from the Core with me so they had to take new ones....guess what! A fracture! Plain as day! Right where the emergency room said it was! I feel like I have totally wasted my time and money at the Core. I also feel that it has really put me back in where I should be in the healing process because I was made to feel like what I was feeling was no big deal or "normal." And this is 3 months later! Never would I recommend going to the Core! read more

StarI truly appreciate Cathy's professionalism and willingness to squeeze me in at a moment's notice. 5 stars to PT Tech Branden for helping me to inch my way through tears and pain, while being aware of me as a person instead of just a client. 5 stars for the PT, Dr. Michael, for making sure that my treatment is going well and yet another 5 for the PT to-be, Annie, and Tech Chelsea Ann, for caring enough to check on me and offer me waters (when I wasn't even working with them). With an Allstar team like this, the only reason why I had to deduct a star was because of their ineffective phone/ email system. For having so many facilities (throughout AZ and MI) it's not convenient or efficient to have a single 877 number transfer calls to a specific location. After giving up on unanswered calls and being sent back and forth for over 25 minutes, my email with contact number was sent through the website at noon and I never received a response. There are far less sophisticated businesses with better means of communicating with their clients/patients. read more

MY NAME IS RENEE NOYES This place dragged me along for over two years. I went to Dr. Ughwannagho who said that I had a collapsed disk and the pain would go away. Sat there and argued with me that I always had scoliosis. I have prooff. Come to find out it is a cyst that has now broken a bone, I have a frature and the nerve pain extends down to my buttucks in the sacral canal region. They write stuff to cover their own butt and dr. Daftari is the worse. He refused to help me with pain. My BP was extreme at times I was so sick at one point that he said he couldnt help with that, he refurerred to dr ughwanngho who is a waanabe doctor. To young and then he sat there and told me I should start dating again. Unbelievable. I cannot walk or stand with out pain still to this day. I cannot sit because of my tailbone pain. I cannot look down because something is wrong with my neck. I DO NOT RECOMMEND GOING TO THEM. I DO NOT TRUST THEM. I finally have pain doctor that is helping with pain. ALthough wven this guy judges, when I tell him ist hurts to sit down like the bone feels broken (started may 2015) he wrote that it doesnt appear that it hurts me WHAT why would anyone document that?? I am sick of these doctors they dont write things down correctly and the core institute was always doing that. NOT RIGHT! I just want to get better or get the right documention the right diagnoses so I can get on disability. That is somehting you cannot tell them or they will treat you like crap. DUMB JERKS I tell them that because I am home bound and hurt. I cannot work and just cause you say i can it doesnt make it true. read more

The Crap Institute should be their name. Every doctor is behind schedule. I think they overbook or something. After filling out 10 pages of mostly redundant info I'm told there is someone ahead of me and it could be an hour wait. I look at the clock and it's my appt time. I wonder how many new patients would walk out the door if they were told they might have to wait an hour BEFORE they filled out the paperwork. I had a similar problem with the Gilbert location several years ago. I had to wait so long that I needed to get back to work so I asked for a refund of my copay and my paperwork. read more

What a wonderful office this is! When I called to schedule an appointment they were extremely helpful and very well organized. My only complaint was the office itself was a little hard to find so we were late but they were great about it and we were called back within 5 minutes of arrival and seen within minutes sitting in the room. It is actually rare I go to any office and am seen that quickly. We were in and out quickly and all concerns addressed. I would highly recommend them! read more

Great Staff Great Doctors took me 5 minutes to see my doctor my first visit. I got a young doctor that knows what he is doing. I sat with and talked with him for a while. Oh by the way Y T. have some respect if it took two hours it was me. With a 3 inch needle going in my spine. . anyway we set up 3 injections. first injection staff very friendly thought it might take a bit. I opted not to have sedation. Took 20 minutes and whalla. I actually got to sit thru a movie and dinner no pain. I didn't feel the shot. Very good experience at gilbert spine center read more

My boyfriend recently had corrective knee replacement surgery with Dr. De Comas and he is beyond happy with her and the staff at The Core Institute. He had been waiting for 6 months to receive surgery through the Phoenix VA and spoke with multiple doctors there who seemed perplexed by his complicated medical history. When he was finally referred to the Core in the beginning of September, we didn't know what a blessing it would be. After 1 appointment with Dr. De Comas she diagnosed the problem, told him exactly what she needed from him as far as testing and promptly scheduled the surgery. She explained it to us in a way we could understand and was with us every step of the way. This was his 8th surgery on his knee, after 5 at UCLA and 2 in Atlanta, he feels this was the best treatment he has received in regards to appointment wait times, post-op & pre-op experiences, availability and helpfulness of all nurses and the knowledge and professionalism of Dr. De Comas. We are so grateful he was referred to the Core and appreciate everything this facility has done for us. read more

I love the Core Institute. I was referred to this location from urgent care after a fall which resulted in a broken leg. I saw Dr. Scoggin - awesome doctor! He put me in a splint for a week then after a second evaluation, recommended surgery. I went forward with the recommendation and am very happy with the results. The entire staff has been helpful, courteous, and above all, focused on bringing me to a healthy state. I am so grateful for their support and help. Thank you! read more

The core institute in mesa is by far the worst clinic I have ever gone to. One their bathrooms there is piss all over the floor every time we go in! It smells. The staff is beyond rude, and have no personality when it comes to greeting clients. During my apt I could hear one of the MAs were talking bad about one of the patients... which I heard both first and last name and got the women's number as she left to inform her. She was in tears because she had heard it too. Dr Zakas is by far one of the worst Drs I have met. It's sad when people who go in there with real injuries and we are the ones who get the worst care. They care only about themselves and not for the patient in pain. This clinic cares for money... especially Zakas. I won't call him Dr Zakas... because he has no empathy.... he cares about one thing. Pay check. Getting home. But never mind the ones who can't even go to work because their Dr won't hear them out... he just rather not deal with them! Not sure what the issue is here, but I just seems impossible to get a hold of someone . I finally did right before I googled their name and writing this, I use the portal because they kept sending me emails to sign up and on their phone while I waited on hold for it seemed forever . it seems they have no phone communication with follow up patients. I had a MRI and been in a lot of pain. The dr was nice but very quick and seemed a little annoyed . I get you guys are a busy facility but Its really frustrating when youve tried 7 to 8 times to get someone to call you back or even message on the portal you guys wanted me to start using. When I was in there for my appointment it wasnt like they were crazy busy and most of the girls where talking to one another and seemed they had time to do other task. I wouldnt have cared so much if i wasnt in so much pain at times and me calling and not being able to reach anyone. Maybe I didnt try hard enough but it sure felt like it. Ill give you guys a chance here but please sharpen up a bit. thank you read more
