This is a new location of The Container Store that opened in October 2023 and is smaller than their usual locations, closest being Thousand Oaks. The parking lot is busy because it is in a busy shopping plaza undergoing lots of construction. It is at the corner of Ventura and Topanga Canyon. When you go inside it's just as you expect from another location but it is a smaller store so they don't have everything. They have most though ranging from home organization to office to kitchen to garage and everything in between. Very clean with lots of employees there happy to help. Come check out the new location and let's welcome them to the valley as I'm sure many of us have been wishing for a much closer location :)

You will find that the quality here far exceeds any of the stuff you'll find at a Home Depot is for instance, and in some cases even Lowe's. They deal mostly in ceramic, and clay pottery. I was trying to find some plastic or resin pieces that were durable, and the owner had suggested to try a few other places. He didn't have the inventory, but he was still very friendly in suggesting some other spots to try. I do wish they would carry some thick, resin or plastic pots that are 1/8 to 1/4 in thickness. I'm sure this would be my go-to spot if that were the case. For now, I'm stuck with the big corporate places. In general though, if you're looking for a piece that's going to stand out in your garden, something as a focal point, or conversational piece, I think you'll find that this place might have what you're looking for.

Last Summer, we'd postponed buying a fountain so, we went back to the "fountain discounted stores" we visited last year. However, we couldn't find a single decent size (mostly 3-4 ft height) fountain under $1700. I know with everything that's rising in price, especially, here in CA, we didn't expect to see the same fountains for less than $800 as we did last year but, an increment of almost $1000 for the same fountains, it's unconscionable. By the way, the same prices were around the corner, when we visited the "other popular fountain locations" in the valley. We kept looking and DID find an honest place, only about 20 minutes north from here. Keep looking!

We booked our class through Cozy Meals for $114/person. When we arrived, we were pleasantly…read moresurprised to find that the class was actually hosted by Sur La Table. Overall, as a one-time experience, it was fun and exciting for me. That said, after reading the reviews below, I have to agree w/many of them. Cozy Meals did mentioned that the class would be four people per group, but in reality, we were packed elbow-to-elbow around the cooking table and barely got to do much hands-on cooking. Still, I had a great time. The setup was beautiful, and the staff were friendly and helpful (Chefs runners). Our puff pastry dough didn't want to cooperate, it had been left out too long and became too warm, so we struggled rolling it big enough to wrap the beef properly. Even so, the final dish was still delicious. Unfortunately, we did leave hungry still. Extra star for the easy parking and its location. The first two hours are free, w/ additional hours at $2. Sur La Table is located inside a mall, with plenty of options to grab a snack or drink after class and there's even a Costco within walking distance! Ps. Please wash the aprons. I'm not sure how many classes were held before our 4 pm session, but ours was noticeably dirty.

We joined the Essentials: Mexican Flavors night and learned how to make so many amazing dishes. We made a Spicy Daisy (a virgin jalapeño margarita), corn and poblano tamales with pasilla sauce, fresh handmade corn tortillas, birria tacos, and even a rich chocolate ancho chili cake for dessert. We were also taught how to prepare tamasa from scratch. Honestly, it was mostly my daughter doing all the cooking while I listened and admired her skills Chef Zach led the class and was so helpful, along with two assistants who were constantly checking on everyone and guiding us through each step. You're grouped in teams of four, ingredients are prepped for you, and they walk you through everything. Just be ready to set aside 2-3 hours -- it's a full experience. The class costs under $100, which is totally worth it because you get to enjoy (and bring home) everything you make. Such a fun, hands-on experience. Highly recommend for a unique date or bonding time. Happy cooking!
