My 12 year old daughter and I made appointments to get our ears pierced. The man at the desk was warm, welcoming and walked us through pricing and product. Scott was our piercer and was amazing! He was professional, kind, conversational and walked us through every step of the process. It was quick and easy! We are definitely going back! read more

I've ridden hard for the Constable, honestly probably close to a decade but you lost me today as a customer. Your piercing process needs a total revamp. I should not have to wait forever to have a simple earring changed. I didn't appreciate the disrespectful attitude either. read more

I got my very first tattoo at The Constable in Plainfield and the experience was absolutely wonderful! From the moment I walked in, the front desk staff was so knowledgeable, patient, and kind--they really put me at ease. You have to put down a deposit while booking an appointment and it later goes towards the cost of the tattoo. I saw Bobby for my tattoo, and he was amazing! Professional, down to earth, and made me feel completely comfortable in the chair. The shop itself is clean and welcoming, and they even had the aftercare lotion available for just $5, which made things so easy. I couldn't have asked for a better first tattoo experience. Highly recommend this shop and especially Bobby! read more

i just went into constable to get an eyebrow piercing, i've had two other piercings here and it's all the same song and dance. Come when they open wait an hour and get a piecing in five minutes. today i got the artist with the long beard (bobby? he didn't say his name) and he was upset that i kept asking him to move it (total like four times) kept saying "you want it purposely crooked????" all condescending. eventually i settled on a placement he pierced me before i could breathe in. if you like to surrounded by elitist artists while spending top dollar on a piercing go here. read more

I have always had a good experience here when it comes to piercings. I had my septum pierced here and have always returned if I need help changing out the jewelery. The piercer is lovely and has never made me feel uncomfortable ever. I just got my first tattoo here and the experience was just fine. I don't want to out the artist but I just don't think they're "bedside" manner if you will was warm at all. I just felt awkward the entire time and like my appointment was just a chore. There was no conversation pretty much at all. They also had a Donald Trump can of something on their shelf which felt morally opposite of the "all are welcome here" sign on the front desk. I probably would not come back for tattoo related purposes but I wouldn't necessarily tell people not to. read more

the artists are fine but there attitude is like that of a 'princess' . my boy mikey and the shop is Extremely white washed they need some diversification. no wokeness bs just add some diversification of ethnicity aka New Talent . i scheduled way ahead of time and i hope to see his demeanor become more humble he has a family now so i recommend u give him time to mature. he's very well paid he drives a $1400 to $1600 per month truck its a Raptor not including bills but i expected the best but not even his craftsmanship is worth the wait. nothing like miami ink or la ink experience just a drag . read more

I went on June 27, 23 to get my nose pierced. I had my 3 & 5 yr olds with me. I've been wanting to get it done for a bit and it was finally time. They do not take reservations for adult piercings so you fill out the paperwork and wait your turn. You must stay in order to be "in line". The receptionist was a friendly girl. The piercer Scott was good. He explained everything step by step & I'll be honest, I was a bit nervous so I missed a few things he said.... Anyway, it didn't hurt & my eyes didn't water. My kids did great during our 45 min wait. The cost was $50 & I purchased the saline spray for $5. So far, the healing process is going well. I will definitely go back there if I decide to change my jewelry. I'll only trust a professional to do it. The place was clean, including the bathroom read more

I've gotten four piercings from this place: Scott pierced my tragus, nose and navel, Billy pierced both nipples :) I love the piercers, and the quality of their workspace and cleanliness is amazing! The ambience is nice, and the workers are very nice as well. One thing I am not very happy with, is that if you are 13+, piercings are walk-ins only, so sometimes walking in, it's a 2hr wait, even if I called right beforehand and they said that the wait time was 10 minutes! This place would totally get 5 stars if you could make piercing appointments :) read more

What a great experience from start to finish! Communication from the time I set up my initial appointment till my last session was excellent! Parlor it's self was very clean with a great vibe and atmosphere!! Kyle did an awesome job coming up with an amazing design that was unique but everything I wanted and was looking for. In fact it turned out WAY better than I could have imagined. It's not just a tatoo, its a piece of art!! Thanks again to Kyle and Constable Tattoo!! Highly recommend!! read more

They did a wonderful, caring & professional job with my daughter Olivia's ( 8 years old ) ear piercing 5/2/22 Even tho at times she was hesitant, with a few tears, the piercer stayed calm, patient and helped her thru the process. Today she is in love with her beautiful new earrings. read more

I took my 8yo here to get her ears pierced for the first time. She was nervous but over all excited. Billy helped us and was wonderful with her. He explained everything to her in a way that was clear and helped to calm her nerves. He made sure everything was clear and sanitized and fully covered all the aftercare information and was open with following up with him should anything arise and/or at the 6-8week mark. I'm so glad we brought her here and that Billy was the one that took care of us. Thank you! read more

We went there to get my daughter ears pierced and we had Billy do it for us. He was very nice and explained everything well, including that they back up their piercings. A couple of weeks later one of my daughters ears started to swell and become infected. I cleaned exactly as they instructed me to do. I called them to let them know and they said come in so they could check it out but it was close to closing time and I live 50 min away. They said take her to the ER (no, not an ER necessary visit) and once it healed to bring her back and they would redo it for free. It healed, so I called them to reschedule and she told me I would have to pay for it again ..... ugh... huh? That's not what I was told and that's not backing up piercings. I did what I was instructed with cleaning. So we made an appointment with Rowan at a near by target and her ear has been perfect. read more

Dont get pierced by Scott. He rushes his work and is extremely rough with you. PLEASE GET PIERCED BY BILLY!!! When I got my nostril re pierced by Scott he told me he had to "push through skin" with the bar... he re-pierced my nostril in a completely different area and now it sits extremely slanted. My boyfriend got his nostril re-pierced by Scott and got a bar that was way too short. read more

I had a great experience getting my ear pierced again after it had closed up 20+ years ago. Scotty was very kind, gentle and made sure the ear was ok to pierce again. I have never been in a tattoo place and was a little nervous. The piercing was painless and so far all is healing well. read more

I've seen a lot of negative reviews, but for me, all of my experiences here have been great, whether I'm there for piercings or a tattoo. Most recently I got my rook pierced by Kayla and although she's quiet, she's really great and quick! I didn't even know the needle was going through my ear and my lack of anxiety made it seem less painful. It healed in about 6 months completely and it's great and placed beautifully!! I got a tattoo on my hip last June by Mikey and I love it. It healed extremely fast and he was a really great artist that was prepped and ready for my tattoo with multiple sketches for me to look at. The pictures are from right after I got them both done :) read more

William the piercer was so girl boss. I had a walk in to get a piercing. He took me in within 20 minutes, got me in and out in seconds. I tipped bro 50%. He's so slay. I just moved here and heard about constable through a Facebook group, so glad I decided to give them a try. Their costumer service was great, from the woman at the front desk to the man who did my piercing. He was kind, professional, and was able to answer some of my questions about a future dermal I wanted to get redone. I'll definitely be back for my next tattoos as well. They also were very clean, I've been to a few shops that didn't even wipe down the chairs between clients, so that's a huge plus. read more

I wanted to get a tattoo celebrating a milestone and I chose Nick in January 2022 because of his beautiful profile. We discussed for six months the design including font. The morning of the appointment (noon) he was late with no explanation. Appeared to be very tired and grumpy. He complained he had nothing prepared and all he was going to be able to do was the writing....10% of the tattoo???? After a six month wait time??? He walked around complaining, using profanity, going for smoke breaks, getting coffee and at one point threw his iPad on the chair. Should I have left? YES!!! Did I leave? no....He finished the tattoo and I left with his promise this incredibly black tattoo would lighten up and it didn't. My flowers are ugly, my bee looks like a wasp and there's two random sticks (?) in the middle. I dealt with the tattoo for a year and just accepted wearing long sleeves. Fast forward to May 2023 and I stumbled upon work done by Phil!!!!! Phil was able to improve my tattoo 100%!!!! Used shading to make the super black lines softer looking. Added bees and butterflies to balance the flowers. Added a gorgeous new sunflower and reworked my wasp to look like a bee!!!!! I honestly feel beautiful again and am so pleased with his work!!!! I'm currently looking to update a 35 year old tattoo and Phil and I already have ideas!!!! Can't recommend Phil enough for beautiful collaborative art!! read more

I came here for the first time last week & had a good experience. Scott took care of me & my piercings. I totally recommend this place!

A month ago I called Constable Tattoo in order to get a piercing. I ended up choosing a Conch piercing and it was done by Billy. He was extremely friendly, helpful, and understanding. Fast forward a little over a month and my conch piercing had begun swelling up and looked irritated. I knew that something was wrong. I called Constable and I was able to swing over the day of. I sat and waited for about 15 minutes, until a piercer had approached me and took me into the piercing room. This piercer- Scott asked me what happened. I told him it's swelling and I'm unsure why. I let him know I had been cleaning it with the saline spray, that I had purchased from them. He then condescendingly asked "With what?". I let him know I had cleaned it with a Cotton Ball and a Q-Tip. He ripped me a new one letting me know that was the problem, he then started lecturing me about "I know none of our piercers would've recommended that". At every sentence he gave me a snarky ending "That's doesn't happen here DUDE", "That's where your problem is DUDE", "It's up to you DUDE". I asked for Scott's advice, knowing he is a professional piercer, to leave it in based on how it looks or take it out. He said "UP to you!", "Your opinion" in a fierce, aggressive way. Trusting my piercers and tattoo artists (based on what I'm getting) I turn to them for advice, regardless, I felt like I was shamed for even asking his opinion. When a few minutes in before I was berated for not remembering their advice/aftercare correctly. Keep in mind- no where in the conversation did I accuse any of the piercers for giving me that information, I made the mistake of mixing up what I should and shouldn't use. *My own personal fault that I own up to*. I was shamed, insulted, and was very upset after leaving. When I got home I found Billy's number and gave him a call. Billy reassured me he would talk to him. That was very much appreciated. This review is not for my personal gain, but rather BE WARNED about the piercer Scott. I was hesitant about leaving a review, but I don't want anybody to have to be a "punching bag" for a piercers personal issues or problems. I came in there to get my conch piercing fixed, and was treated like a piece of garbage. Pros- Nice phone answerer/woman. She was kind, said I could walk in and they'd take care of it. Billy is a nice piercer, but for the other one.... Neutral- I haven't got any tattoos done here, so I have 0 to say about tattoo artists Cons- Scott's condescending, unprofessional, and disrespectful attitude towards clients. *Beware of Scott* read more

Both of us had a tattoo done by Brendan who was recommended by family. What a nice piece of art did he place on our bodies. From design to finish, all was extremely professional. It was my wives first one and Brendan made sure she was as comfortable as possible and it worked out perfect. For me my third, an 5 hour one turned out exactly as hoped! It's difficult to find a good and trust worthy Tattoo artist as you surrender your body to him but we surely have found ours and will recommend him to everybody and come back for future tattoos. read more

I have nothing but good things to say about our experience with Constable Tattoo. I went for a nose piercing & everything was great! This, cost $150. Wasn't told the price until afterwards. I told the artist I wanted this tattoo done for my father who passed: and he completely took advantage of us. Tattoo is crooked and looks like I've had it for 20 years, done 2 months ago, took only 10-15 minutes to complete. This should have NEVER costed above the shop minimum (come to find out is only $60) this jerk (chad) ripped us off then wants to charge $60 for a touch up! NO shop charges for a touchup! I've been tattooed throughout the country and never have been charged for a touchup: don't let this shop fool you. This is NOT tattoo etiquette! And to think I went to this establishment because they support law enforcement and my boyfriends a deputy. Ill take my business elsewhere. If you want to be completely ripped off, go here! This shop has no respect for its customers. Customer service is out the Window . Took my daughter to get piercings from Scott , I was given the run around about identification from the child that they keep at the front desk whom can't understand the things she says. shitty service shady piercer childish behavior disrespectful incompetent re-entered the parlor. They told us about 40 minutes to a half hour. We waited almost an hour. It was our turn the piercer that approached when it was my turn. He was a prior old neighbor which we had beef. His childish behavior slid the piece of paper across to the receptionist, refused to wait on us, whispered things to the receptionist, which I could not hear, the receptionist said oh, that we should take a picture! Then he approached the customer that was behind me, and took her back to give her her piercing, while the other piercer walked away as well . we told the receptionist, take our name off the list and walked out read more

They not only have blue lives matter flags ever where which is very uneasy and unsettling as a person of color in the establishment but the staff aren't very friendly. When those flags are the first thing you see when you walk in it's not very kind to customers of color. Because blue lives matter is against Black Lives Matter . So they are telling black customers they're lives don't matter. As a black individual think before doing buissness here I wish I could give zero stars. read more

If I could give more stars I would. Kayla and Constable Tattoo deserve at least 10! I found that they do permanent make up and have been wanting to get my eyebrows done. I found she does a technique called Powder Brows. In my opinion I think they look better than the microblading like I had done years ago. It depends on the person I believe but I am so glad to see there are other options out there. Kayla and I did a consultation through messages on what I was looking for and I sent a pic. She seamlessly worked with me on my goofy schedule and got me in pretty quickly. When I got there I got checked in. The place has a cool vibe and very clean. Kayla went over what we were going to do and then got started. I was so impressed with how thorough she was! Measured out and lined up everything with perfect precision. She explained every step and then we got started. She numbed me up pretty good and I barey felt anythng. I told her that I have issues with pain and she accomodated me. After she made sure to tell me everything I needed to know in how to take care of my eyebrows and then made the follow up appointment for the touch up in a few weeks. Can't wait to see how they look all finished! The whole process went quick I think. I was there for a couple of hours but that was ok. It went by fast and I am insanely happy with the results so far! read more

I've come to Constable several times with friends to get piercings, but the 5 stars would be for my experiences with Bobby in particular! Last November my brother and I wanted to get the same piece done. A friend of mine referred me to Bobby and it was an awesome experience from start to finish! I texted him and he was more than willing to schedule us within a week! It was both of our tattoos and his personality helped put my nerves at ease. I really appreciated the fact that he stated after he was done that he guarantees his work and if a touch up is needed he'd be more than happy to do so! A few months later I contacted Bobby about a touch up. My tattoo is on the side of my foot, so a small bit of wear was bound to happen! My experience was just as good as my initial time with him. Since then, I have referred multiple friends to get tattoos by him. I have gone with most friends to get their work done by him and he's consistently awesome!!! From start to finish the whole experience was simply great. Kyle was excellent to work with and was incredibly accommodating and really worked to make my idea come to life as best as possible. And boy did it come together. I really couldn't have possibly pictured it coming out any better which means a lot considering the personal significance. I've been tattooed and pierced in several places throughout the country and I've come to realize that two of the worst experiences I've had were here at The Constable. I got my daith pierced here in 2016. The piercing itself went as expected, except I wasn't given any aftercare instructions aside from a verbal "don't mess with the jewelry and make sure you clean it twice a day." Super helpful. I was also never told what gauge or metal type was used. Also, a few days after the piercing, one of the balls of the curved barbell (think septum jewelry) came unscrewed, this was unsettling as I did not "mess with the jewelry" as directed. I reluctantly returned to get a small tattoo with a friend in late-2017. We chose to come here after nearby shops were booked up and we were mere walk-in clients. Given the size and lack of detail that our tattoos required, we expected to be in there for MAYBE forty minutes. Instead, it took nearly two hours. Our artist was very unprofessional and distracted by literally everything. At one point, he answered the phone during my friend's tattoo. Presumably, the caller asked if the shop could accommodate a walk-in, he said yes, but that he would be doing the tattoo, and he was an apprentice. Interesting. He never told my friend and I that he was an apprentice. Given the fact that he was putting something permanent on our bodies, this would've been an important thing to tell us. Another thing that irked me was the overall decor of the shop. Immediately upon entering, you're greeted with an overwhelming amount of NRA and Thin Blue Line paraphernalia. Regardless of how you feel about either organization and their message, it is agreeable that this is a questionable design theme for a business, especially one with such a broad clientele. read more
