Awful technicians, horrible customer service! They will break your device and treat you like crap! Janky service and cheap parts! Do NOT let them place a finger on your device!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Where do I begin with my experience of this place! On 10/16/18 I took my phone into connect 7 for what I expected to be timely and professional phone repair service given the ratings I read on google. I brought in my 1- year old gold IPhone 7 with two cracks across the screen for what I thought would be an uneventful screen repair. The screen repair I was told would take less than 30 minutes and would cost 100$ in cash. I agreed to have them fix my phone and told them I'd go to the store down the street and be right back to pick it up. Thirty minutes passed I went back to the store, the technician working on the phone was a young Hispanic girl with long hair and braces. She alerted me that she was having a hard time getting the screen off due to a stripped screw and that she'd need an additional 30 minutes to complete the repair. 3 hours later, and several witnesses calls/ FaceTimes of her with someone asking them to take her step by step through the repair process, and still my phone wasn't fixed. Instead it was functionally not working the same. The camera button would turn the phone off, the center home button was not functioning/ reading at all, and the finger sensor of the home button was not working, and felt about 20 degrees warmer than the rest of the phone. At that point 4 hours after the initial drop off of the phone, I told the technician I had to go as I have a 5 week old baby and 2 year old that had been in the car with my husband while I was in and out of the business waiting on my phone to be fixed.
The technician told me that I Would need to pay the full price for the repair even though my phone was not functionally the same as when I dropped it off to them. I told her I didn't think I should have to pay at that time because the phone repair was not complete. She told me that I would have to make the payment in order to receive the phone back from them even though it wasn't working. Being a mom with 2 young kids I decided to pay the money so that I could get my phone back and get to my kiddos.
I called the shop back as soon as I left and let her know I demanded to speak with a manager as my phone was now inoperable as a result of their subpar repair techniques. I was promised by the technician that the owner would be in the next day and that they would be able to fix the phone to restore the initial functionality. I told her that I didn't trust letting them try to "fix" the phone again and that I demanded a refund of the money I paid for the screen repair.
The tech then told me I was entitled to me money back only if I was to bring the phone back to the shop and let them take the replaced screen off and put my original ( cracked) screen back on. I agreed to bring the phone back the next day when the owner would be there.
I brought the phone back in around 2pm the next day on 10/17/18( Wednesday). I was told by another older Hispanic woman that the owner wouldn't be in until Monday, and that she would need about 1 hour to put the old screen back on so that I could have my refund, and that she would try to repair the functionality issues as well.
1-hour later the old screen was back on, but the functionality was still not fixed. I told her I wanted to speak with the owner of the store and I wanted to receive my money back for the screen repair and the depreciated value of the phone as it was only 1 year old and despite the 2 cracks in the phone screen, the phone functionally performed perfect.
5- minutes later the owner called me and proceeded to argue with me about how he didn't need to pay me for the phone that his technician broke and that functionally no longer worked. He told me all he could do was give me some janky replacement phone that had been used to replace my phone they broke. I disagreed with him as I now didn't trust any of the workmanship or service on any device from that store, and demanded the depreciated value of the phone and a refund on the screen repair. He refused to speak
Anymore over the phone with me and told me he would be at the shop until 7:30 so that I could pick up my phone.
When I got to the shop around 7pm, I tried
To be reasonable with him and wait for him to take accountability for his technicians mistake in the repair. It never happened. He agreed to give me back my refund on the repair and give me 100$ cash for the depreciated value of the phone, plus he demanded to keep the phone as a "trade in" for the cash! I was flabbergasted at his arrogant request! This owner is ludacris and has NO sound business understanding, as this was the only thing he believed I deserved after his tech ruined the phone. I told him to give me the 100$ refund for the repair and that I would see him in small claims court. read more
