The whole feel of the place is comforting, warm, kind, and charming. Right on the water, free delicious eggs and bacon for breakfast, sensational views morning and night on the patio, adorable rooms with free Cape Cod potato chips and waters every day, such a charming lobby and tribute to the family who owns it. So pet/dog friendly. We loved walking Gerbert in the morning along the peaceful water and windmill. We walked up the block to the Ice Cream Cafe every night. I want to come back here the next time I'm in Cape Cod - it has all the charm that you want when you're looking for a hotel in this area. He offered us a free upgrade, to the presidential suite, the biggest and best room. Room 10 had big windows with a beautiful view of the ocean. It had a frig, small living room 2 T.V's,and nice sized bath with a refreshing shower. The king bed was comfy and provided a good nights sleep. Ed made us a tasty breakfast of eggs and bacon before our travels. There was a 24 hr coffee, tea, soda and snack station available to all guests as well. It's a nice change from the cookie cutter hotels and resorts. The property is in a great location and is within walking distance to multiple restaurants (try the Pancake Man for breakfast). Many beaches are also just a short drive away. This place is excellent for families with kids because there is so much for them to do! - clean saltwater pool - fire pits for s'mores - lounge chairs, hammocks and swings galore - large playground area with sand - ping pong tables We had a lovely and memorable family vacation. Location is ideal, short drive from good restaurants and walking distance to beaches, markets, coffee shops and more. The bed and breakfast itself is totally picturesque, our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. We were told our room was small (Azalea) but it was perfect for two adults. We spent as much time as possible at the lake - they have canoes, kayaks and a stand up paddleboard for use - and spent hours on the dock in the sun in total relaxation...it was hard to want to go anywhere else. What really put our experience over the top, though, are the hosts, Ann and Roy. They took such good care of us and we quickly felt like family. Our favorite part of the day was breakfast - we spent the mornings talking over the most delicious blueberry pancakes you'll ever have (thanks Ann!). It was so hard to leave them and we miss it so much already, but are already planning our return. We won't stay anywhere else on the Cape from now on!

It was charming, homey, and most importantly for us, quiet. Judy and Ray who are the owners have been running that inn for over 26 years. And Rachel (general manager) has been there for 4 seasons. They are just wonderful people, and always welcomed us every morning like your own mom and dad. Rachel is probably your cousin. The breakfast were all home made and delicious. One morning we had waffles with strawberries. Another morning a quiche. I drink a lot of sparkling water, and so HAPPY they had a machine to pour your own. Tenz! Tenz! Tenz! Tenz across the board. Thank you guys (especially the staff!) for being wonderful. We will come again for sure.

However, we came in with our baby, and the owner Ray was so rude, it was unbelievable and disgusting actually. He kicked us out and said you cannot stay here but would offer us a refund since it was within 24 hours. I walked away extremely upset but understood the policy. I now called the owners wondering where my refund is and he LIED!!!! Stating he never said that, when my husband and I both heard him say that explicitly and we have no reason to lie. He stated he would give us the refund since it was within 24 hours. I will be reporting this charge to my credit card company as this is fraud if I have ever seen it. When I called back he said "people go on vacation to escape children, not so you can bring them with you". Disgusting people and have never seen treatment like this in my life.

The Chatham Wayside Inn, situated smack dab in the heart of "downtown" on Main Street couldn't be more convenient. Her rooms are well appointed nicely maintained. I felt like I was staying in the Capes version of Hogwart's Academy with stairs leading up, down, and around to various levels. The hallways adorned with local art and historic memorabilia. We enjoyed a Friday to Sunday stay. Friday night you could hear a pin drop. Saturday, well, we had a neighboring roomie that must have had a long evening at the Squire Tavern. Stumbling and bumbling into the Inn, door slamming, up the stairs, down the hall into his/her/their room, another slam. No regard for others at 12:30 am. Aside from this, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, including a continental breakfast each morning. The Wild Goose Tavern is part of the premise. Quiet as well, but each night diners filled the windows over looking Main Street and Kate Gould Park.

We live in NYC…read moreand were heading up for a wedding and needed to find something-- we found Safe Harbor online and completely lucked out. We booked months ago having no idea what to expect...and we were beyond thrilled with our stay. Paul and Joan were so friendly, and we instantly felt at home. The rooms are clean and well restored (none of that musty scent that sometimes comes along with b&bs in older homes), the bed was very comfortable. Lilacs were in bloom that weekend, and the vases of them in our rooms reminded me of my childhood in Maine. In fact, one of my many favorite aspects of Safe Harbor was the true New England feel. At breakfast near beautiful original stained glass windows (decorated with old medicine bottles and pocket watches), and walls with drawings of historic homes, there was fresh coffee and absolutely delicious fare. On the first morning Paul made French toast with caramelized bananas and fluffy farm fresh scrambled eggs (with the option of a hot sauce made from peppers in their garden--yum!). Second morning Joan made an amazing egg and sausage casserole and waffles with a berry sauce. She sent us on the road with cookies and coffee in travel mugs. We would definitely stay there again, and will be recommending to friends!

Check-in process is so easy & convenient, the room we had was very nice, bed was super comfortable & clean, we found a note from Phil welcoming us & he left a complimentary bottle of wine & a some candies with a "Happy Birthday " note for my gf! A nice bottle of water was also provided & it was so good I requested & received a 2nd bottle within minutes of my request for it. On site there is a nice fire pit which we sat at each night and chatted with other guests, there is a nice pool (took a dip in it on 2nd day there) and they provide a very nice complimentary continental breakfast each morning via a take out window near the office where you select what you'd like for breakfast and they make up a little picnic basket that you take back to your room, sit @ outdoor tables on site or take away with you to the beach or wherever you go (return the basket ). There is a little barn area with live goats too where you can visit them. We will definitely return to SSH the next time we come down to the Cape, the location is excellent & the owners are incredible. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Our room was clean and spacious. Toiletries provided were very nice. There was ample towels and ample pillows and blankets for my liking - something I think many places struggle with. Independent room temp controls were perfect and allowed us the cold sleep we like. Water pressure in the shower was absolutely top tier. I wish I could get that at home! The bottle of wine and happy birthday message was a beautiful touch on arrival. The check in, parking, and navigation of the grounds was very easy! The grounds are gorgeous. The pool, the fire pit, the yard games, and the goats on property were all fabulous touches! We picked this place due to its proximity to Mayflower Beach which is our favorite place to be.
