Definitely the best gym I've ever been a member of. It has all the equipment you'd need and very clean. Staff is awesome too!

This gym deserves 5 stars...it has the best of everything. Their facility is over the top clean,…read morewell maintained and truly the best in the area. The pool and therapy pools are big and spacious, unlike other gyms that only offer mini pools. Class schedule is specifically designed for young swimmers to people that need therapy snd the warm water therapy instructors are incredible...actually all of the instructors are incredible. Most have their college degrees in Fitness and many have their masters. The class schedule offers great variety and the teachers are experienced and top notch. Most all instructors and teachers have been working there for at least 2 years and their ongoing staff training keeps all staff on board with certifications and customer service which is the best. Check in at the front desk and get a tour, you will be impressed. It is as pricey as surrounding gyms...I have paid the same amount to be a member of Export and Lifetime Fitness. The attention to the member at Northwestern's Delnor Health and Fitness Club makes this place not even comparable to the others. And one extra benefit, you have a Physical Therapy Outpatient treatment facility adjacent to the club if your doctor has recommended Physical Therapy this is the place to go. Their therapists have years of experience and their staff is professional and detail oriented getting their patients back on track. My daughter broke her leg and within 12 weeks of therapy she was more confident and able to walk, then run as fast as before her break. Once again, take a tour at Delnor's Health and Wellness. Working out there is like being on vacation...they even have private whirlpools in the men's and Women's locker rooms. The excellence in their cleanliness and maintenance is beyond words.

On my second day there, I realized that this is not a professional staff from Hospital. I looked up online and it's a subcontractor my first gym after high school. Was the pump room in Geneva. That was a 24 hour club back in 1985. And been the norm pretty much ever since not being a 24 hour club cut down on staff, but it still makes it crowded during the times that it is open. The staff seems to be more tuned to, working at a big box store than it does a facility that could have a medical emergencies at any time. Based on the previous reviews, there doesn't seem to be communication of change. I've been a member on and off for several years, and the equipment has not been upgraded. And in some categories, there's just not enough or they don't have a modern version. But it is clean and you don't have to put up, with the strange way some people act now in gyms. So those two are benefits. I just hope that if I do have a medical emergency or somebody that I love it's close enough for the hospital. Because I have zero respect for their ability to act calmly and professionally to an emergency by my experience.

It turns out by the 3rd class I was able to do things I never thought I could do. I am one of those people who sign up for a gym go once, maybe twice per week for awhile. After about a month of that I end up quitting because I am bored and keep thinking of other things that I should be getting done. I didn't put much effort into my workouts. But once I walked into Out of Body Fitness all of that changed. The staff is highly knowledgable with all aspects of fitness. Edgar and Tammy are truly AMAZING! I have been going for a couple of weeks and the changes I am seeing in myself are something I never thought possible. There are many people who say they are personal trainers but have little to no education as a trainer. That is not the case at Out of Body Fitness. These people are highly educated in the fitness field and know what works to take you from whatever level you are at physically and make you stronger, leaner, and healthier. I just wish I didn't waste all of those years at the gym and would of found them sooner. I love that they constantly change my exercises and are able to push me to the next level which is what shocks me the most. I walk out of there feeling so much stronger and healthier. I would encourage anyone who wants to see results quickly to go there.

So, I'm familiar with Crossfit, and with the NY Times and NPR talking about it, it was probably…read moretime to visit a Crossfit gym. The gym here is not what you would think when you think typical gym-it's a large open space mostly concrete with some mats and rings and a couple of platforms for weights-it basically looks like what you would think of in a bad action movie where ninjas are training. The crew there is really friendly and I appreciated the effort they took to learn me and my buddy's names when we went because it seemed like everyone there was a regular but at no point did I feel left out. The warm ups got me in a sweat before even the regular workout-they focus a lot on strength and Olympic weightlifting at this Crossfit gym and it showed. A lot of the workouts are named and they were working on 'Grace' which was 30 power cleans for time. They took my and my friend aside to go over the basic movements with a PVC pipe and then moved us on to the weights-it was a tiring couple minutes but it was worth it. My friend had a few questions on how to perform a couple different moves and they took the time to go over it-even though it wasn't on the work out schedule and evaluated our form on it. Definitely a great place to work out if you're tired of treadmills and stuff.

Awesome, awesome, awesome!…read more Cross Fit is one of my favorites: it's so unbelievably down to earth. This is one place I know that I can't get away with anything. That being said: why would you want to if your plan is to come away with a great work out. You pretty much hang with the guys, as well. At CF, it doesn't matter who you are: try to best yourself. And that's what makes it tough! To be honest, I hit CF the most right before vacation time. Am I sloughing off the rest of the time? No, not at all. But, you really sweat yourself silly here; don't come to this spot with full make up and some fancy workout duds. Come to work and be grateful that the intent of these trainers is not only safety, but to help you 'up' your game. Besides, what better game in town is there than truly feeling your best and looking your best in a LWD or LBD. If you know what I mean.
