This year we have been asked to move to the foyer or to whatever room may be available as they rely on rentals for these rooms. We agreed and we have been playing where they tell us to go. We pay $2.00 and now are asked to sign in and pay the fee. Additionally, we always were given water and coffee, and are now told that would no longer receive free water or coffee. When several of our members complained about this, a call was made to one of our members that we were rude to their staff, and they are not going to put up with this. I believe The Community House is ignoring the elderly in their community and are actually forcing us out of this venue in favor of younger members. Why else deprive us of free water.

Okay, this is what I have learned, you cannot add a business without a review. I tried adding the…read morebusiness so that I could check in when I got there. Not allowed. So, this section of Brookfield has a most interesting history. The land was donated, or sold, by Mrs. Edith Rockefeller McCormick in 1919. The architect chosen to design this building was William Drummond, an associate of Frank Lloyd Wright, and it is very evident inside the building. It originally was for meetings and a primary school. The first classes started on September 21, 1920. It also served as a nondenominational church in the 1920's and 1930's. For over 90 years it has served as a meeting place for groups: concerts; dances; Fourth of July, Christmas, and Halloween celebrations; and family functions. Predating Hollywood, California, in 1987, they, and other representatives from communities sharing the Hollywood name, defeated an effort by the mayor of Hollywood, California to copyright the name for its exclusive use. It is located just west of Riverside-Brookfield High School. The building has a main event room with a lovely fireplace that we totally enjoyed on the wintry night we were there. The original windows are still in place and you can tell you are in a Prairie style building. Available for rental, you bring in your own food and drinks and have the option to rent the kitchen. Tables and chairs are provided. Party on.

The bartenders and staff were outstanding--friendly, attentive, and truly professional. They helped make the entire experience seamless. The venue comfortably accommodated all of the guests without ever feeling crowded. I especially loved the kitchen and serving area, which was thoughtfully designed. It gave guests plenty of room to serve themselves and added an upscale touch to the event. The tables and décor were beautifully done, and the entire venue was bright, spotless, and well-maintained. The restrooms were also exceptionally clean, which is always appreciated. I had the opportunity to speak with the owner, Alma, who shared a little of the venue's history. Learning that it's a family-owned business, with her children helping to run events, made the experience even more special. Their professionalism speaks volumes about the pride they take in their business. There is a small parking lot, with additional street parking available nearby. Overall, this venue exceeded my expectations. If you're planning a wedding, birthday, retirement party, or any special event, I highly recommend giving this place a look. They truly know how to make an event feel first-class.

We rented this hall for a party, and I have to say the venue itself exceeded our expectations. The…read morehall was beautiful, clean, and well-maintained. The decor and overall design created the perfect atmosphere for our celebration, and our guests kept complimenting how nice everything looked. It was exactly what we were hoping for, and the venue played a big part in making the event memorable. Unfortunately, the way the event ended left a disappointing impression. As our rental time was coming to an end, we felt extremely rushed to get everyone out. We were told that if everyone wasn't completely out by the end of our reserved time, we would have to pay for an additional hour. Because of that, instead of enjoying the last few moments with our guests, everyone jumped in to help clean up and get out as quickly as possible. On top of that, security was actively telling guests to leave, which made the end of the party feel stressful and uncomfortable rather than allowing us to wrap things up naturally. I completely understand that venues have schedules to keep and rental times need to be respected. However, there is a difference between enforcing policies and making customers feel rushed. A little flexibility or a more customer-friendly approach at the end would have made a huge difference, especially after renting the space and having such a positive experience throughout the event. Overall, the venue itself is outstanding, and I truly loved everything about it. The only reason I'm not giving it a perfect review is because of how the event concluded. If the staff handled the end of the rental with a little more grace and understanding, this would have easily been a five-star experience.
