They asked me to come in & the office hours are 10-3 p.m. so off I went into Williamsburg. The staffer who helped me was wonderful & did get to the bottom of that package situation. Amazon took care of it for us ahead of time since we'd assumed someone chose to steal it but a good example of a politician working for the people. I highly recommend contacting them if you have an issue with a federal agency or any post office in her district.

I want to post on here to bring awareness. Yesterday night at around 10pm, I was walking by myself down lorimer street to get to the subway station. I can't remember the cross street I was walking across, but I noticed 2 NYPD SUV's that were waiting at a red light. One behind the other. The second cop car proceeded to turn on their emergency lights with no siren, in attempt to notion the first car to pass the the red light. I continued walking given that it was my right away (white pedestrian light was on) and that because there was clearly no emergency, I assumed the cop would let me finish crossing the street. Wrong. The cop proceeded to speed forward without any sirens or lights, forcing me to have to sprint across the street so that I would essentially not get hit. Part of me wonders if the cop even saw me, given the nature of the speed they were driving at. It was extremely scary. If you're going to abuse your privileges as a cop so be it, but doing so while putting a pedestrian's life in danger- unacceptable.

We filled out the online forms on the Brooklyn Public Library website prior to coming to the library branch in person. This makes it faster and easier for the librarian to locate us on their database. After providing a valid state ID (and proof of NYC residency) we were given library cards to sign (at the back white bar). It also came with a mini key chain version of your card. She explained the resources that were available at the library, such as the computers, pamphlets, branch hours and phone number to call to renew books. At this branch you can only drop off books inside during open hours, since they do not have a drop box outside. They have two machines inside, where you swipe your library card and then scan the barcodes of each book. It then prints out a receipt with the due date for each book. It was a very great first experience!

There were some men sitting behind me that looked like they've been there all day, talking loud & cursing at each other. There was a homeless, mentally ill man downstairs by the bathroom. He waited hidden in the corner, at the bottom of the stairwell while I was waiting for the restroom. He wasn't harming me, but his discreet actions made me uncomfortable. There is nothing downstairs that I remember, which means no one else was down there. Be careful, and stay Street smart. There is, from what I saw, only one unisex bathroom. However, after waiting too long, I went to the top floor in search of another restroom & a very nice librarian understood my pee-pee dance. She let me use the special restroom which was very kind of her & changed my outlook on the day. I highly recommend this location - this is a very nice library.

Then I got a call from someone at "Arctic Glacier" claiming to be a postal employee who basically yelled at ME and said the box was delivered to an address on S. 5th. Not even close to my address! This person was so horrible that I filed a complaint. Then I got another person who called me and said it was in fact delivered "correctly" to the address the sender used at Hooper St. I asked for proof and was sent a label with the wrong sender zip code and the wrong tracking number! These folks have no idea what they are doing but someone is doing shady stuff and everyone else is covering it up. Beware!
