Fast forward one year since I started at Orange Shoe, I have really been enjoying my personal…read moretraining sessions at Orange Shoe and working with the trainers towards my fitness goals. The foot injury I came in with and had discussed with the trainers during my initial assessment has recovered very well. They designed a stretching program for me that helped tremendously. I can do cardio and high impact exercises again with no issues. Huge progress as I honestly thought my foot would never be the same again. Also, regarding my fitness goals, my goal was to build muscle and training sessions have been a nice mix of progressive strength training and conditioning. Workouts are always challenging, but doable, and leave you feeling like you exercised every single muscle group in your body. I now have muscle tone that was not there a year ago when I started. I feel stronger and can lift and squat weight that I never thought I would be able to. All the trainers are excellent. They are very knowledgeable, correct your form, and are very supportive, giving you the extra push you need whenever you feel you cannot possibly do another repetition or set. Also, I never cease to be amazed by Jake and his ability to detect muscle imbalances that may be causing difficulty with a certain exercise. If there is a certain exercise you cannot do, they will modify the exercise, and work to build up the weak muscles so you can eventually do the advanced version of the exercise with proper form. Orange Shoe is well worth the investment if you can manage it. I consider it an investment in my long-term health. I would recommend them 100% to anyone looking for some help with their health and fitness goals, whatever those may be, whether it's building muscle, losing weight, running a marathon, etc. They will design a program tailored to you and set achievable goals that will help keep you motivated.

The trainers seem to really strive to ensure every workout is a little different. I typically use yelp to slam crappy businesses, but in this case I had to give Orange Shoe a big shoutout. I am really pleased with them and highly recommend giving it a try.

Peter Kraus Fitness opened in April 2019. I visited on the opening day and got to take a tour of…read morethe facility, which was led by Peter. I was so excited to meet Peter since I loved watched him on the Bachelor. My hopes were very high when I met him and he did not disappoint!! Peter was very personable and his passion for fitness was very clear. He was so excited about his business opening and graciously allowed my husband and I the opportunity to work out free of charge at the facility a few times to try it out. He even let me take a picture with him and went the extra mile to comment on the picture on Instagram. The facility itself is extremely clean, well organized, and even well decorated. There are several weight and cardio machines to choose from. All the machines are relatively new and accessible. There's even a training area covered in astroturf. They use this area for classes led by different instructors, including Peter. The classes are super fun and the instructors do a great job of training their members and making the classes fun. The gym has a great location in downtown Middleton. It's near several shops, apartments, and even a brewery right next door if you want to reward yourself after a great workout! There's even a bunch of green space in front. I was definitely considering becoming a member until we moved about 20 minutes North. We are thinking of moving back to the Middleton area one day so if we do, I will definitely be joining Peter Kraus Fitness.

TLDR: Every instructor is amazing and wants to make sure you have a great, enjoyable workout. If…read moreyou are looking for a low impact workout that will make you feel like you put in work, try Pilates! I moved to the area for a temp job and decided to try out Pilates for the first time. I had only done a college mat Pilates class and struggled a ton (but liked the challenge). It is really great that they require the intro class. It helped teach me a lot of basics and get use to the feeling. They give a chat to try and get you to become a member, but it doesn't feel predatory by any means. I only would buy class packages during my 3 months and then ended up paying for some individuals. Never did I feel pressured to sign up for a membership during my 3 months. But I will absolutely miss coming here. Every workout felt great and fulfilling. I have never been so consistent with workouts. My last month and a half, I went twice a week. Really did wonders for my mental health and fitness. I'm considering joining another Club Pilates back at home! So thank you to all the amazing people here!

This was my 2nd class in this location as I took the first class back in Nov of 2021. Although the reformers are nicely spaced, but I still preferred a smaller crowd due to the Omicron situation. Everyone had to wear a mask properly while working out. The instructor wore one as she walked around the room. Nice work-out with clear instructions but any corrections. Sometimes I wonder if I was doing the pose correctly. I was glad to take another class but probably will wait out until the virus situation is more controlled. It wasn't easy to work out with a mask as it was hard to breathe (have mild asthma). Pilates is a great body workout and please try when you have a chance. Ample parking and clean/modern interior.
