I think the food is very good. I love the wings. They have a nice selection of beers on tap.

It's rare that I have an experience that makes me swear off of a place, but tonight was that night. Had dinner with the family here tonight and the food service and customer service were AWFUL. Several plates came out of the kitchen that were lukewarm. At one point my mother addressed this and the server laughed about it. Might've been an awkward laugh, but VERY untimely. The bill was discounted, but still contained items we never ordered. When the ticket was taken to be corrected, it came back HIGHER, with automatic gratuity added. So so food is one thing, but couple that with bad customer service AND food service, and I think I'm good never to return. read more

Tasty food I had a huge cowtown slice and jerk flavored wings. Friendly helpful staff. I love the aesthetics of the building and music. A great place for a quick lunch or meet up. They have daily lunch specials. I will definitely go again soon! read more

What a great little surprise! I randomly came across The Combine and wow -- so glad I did! NY-style pizza, wings, and drinks... how can you go wrong?! The place has such a cute vibe, and the staff were super friendly and welcoming. Stopped in for lunch and everything hit the spot. The pizza slice was HUGE, the wings were packed with flavor, and that blue cheese tasted homemade (so good!). And for a little sweet treat, the cranberry cookie was amazing. Definitely coming back -- this place totally made my day! read more

Loved it! We will never turn customers. Great cocktails, house salad dressing was chef's kiss and the pizza was spot on. I wasn't a fan of the cut up slice but of course it doesn't change the taste, I'm just a fold & go the slice, kinda gal. We can't wait to go back and try the rooftop for dinner, one night this spring. read more

I visited for R&B Bingo and got there early to grab some food. When I walked in, I wasn't sure how ordering worked. It wasn't clear whether I should order at the counter first or find a seat and wait for a server, so I decided to order at the counter. I had a slice of the Cowtown Lovers pizza. It was okay, it was full of toppings, but didn't seem very fresh, it tasted like it had been reheated. I also had to go up to the bar to order drinks since no one came to our table until after bingo had started. Even with the confusion about ordering and service, I enjoyed the atmosphere once R&B Bingo got going. The vibe was good, and that ended up being the highlight of the night. read more

Wondering how good The Combine is? It's New York style has good flavor, plenty of cheese & meat ( the right proportion ratio), crispy and the right slice size for me! The crust holds up well when you grab it up, not saggy or soggy. I find some places that offer this style do. I was able to enjoy it dining in and took some home! My mom enjoyed both the panini and potato salad. The chicken & cheese blended well for what she said was extremely flavorful. read more

I like the combine, I wish they would expand there pizza selection with more toppings

Found this little spot to do some work while waiting to pick up GF. No WIFI, my only complaint. I ordered a slice (which was the size of a small pizza!). The server recommended the Cowtown when I told her I liked lots of meat. Very good and well seasoned and a great crust. That, and a cold beer on tap made a great quick lunch. Very casual atmosphere. read more

Pizza by the slice! And big heafty slices at that!! Staff was super welcoming and friendly and the natural light drew me right in. Had some beer and wine, ordered two slices, did some people watching, and had the best time! I heard there's a rooftop patio I accidentally missed? Next time! read more

You can't really beat a 6.50$ massive slice of pizza with 5 toppings of your choice. And I do mean massive! A really cool pizza joint with an incredibly friendly staff. Thursdays they have open mic night so you get some pretty unique entertainment to hangout and see. The Combine is on my and my partners regular rotation for a casual, relaxing evening out. They have a nice bar with at least 10 or so beers on tap. Awesome spot. read more

I honestly can't believe I haven't written this review sooner--this is my FAVORITE place to come for pizza! The food is fantastic, the vibe is chill and welcoming, and the service is always impeccable! For food, I'm a HUGE fan of the choose your own topping slice--they have a lot of toppings to choose from, and this slice is not a normal slice... It is giant. I always have leftovers, and the pizza is always so delicious! Also cannot go wrong with their bread sticks--I always add garlic and mozzarella to mine because they are so good! They have a full bar with many different beers on tap to choose from! I've had cocktails from there, and they were great! So glad this place is in my neighborhood and that it is so great! Many times a week, they have different specialized nights, so if you like live music or local markets, this is the place for you! Thanks to everyone at the Combine for being amazing. Every time I come in there, I have an amazing time chatting with the servers and learning more about our community and what's happening! read more

This neighborhood bar is on street level of the old wonder factory. The space is roomy and the food is solid. The pizza is sold by the slice or whole pie. Slices are big. Prices are affordable. Salads, Sammies , soda and dessert are also in the menu. Drinks are strong. Daily $5 specials. Thursdays are game night - spades, dominos and Uno. On the night I went, the players seemed intense. Lots of big screen tvs. Down side - Combine closes at 9 pm during the week and 10 pm on Friday/Saturday. Upside - the rooftop bar has great views of the city and cool backdrop for selfies. The actual bar is not open but you can go up and play games or just chill. Owner said he'll reopen the rooftop soon. Can't wait because the space is so cool! It'd be perfect for a day party. Hint. Decided to try a new spot for lunch with a co-worker. She suggested the Combine because who doesn't like a good slice of pizza. I will first say I was very pleased to be able to walk in a lunch and grab a seat for 2 right away. So I'm a newbie and asked our server for suggestions. He obliged and suggested, of course, a slice of pizza or the turkey melt. Had no clue they had a lunch special, which came with a slice of pizza and a side salad !! For me, the side said was more Kale than toppings. I will say the vinigarette complimented it well. I ate a couple of bites, but because the Kale was overwhelming, I couldn't finish it. As for the pizza, I will say if you are a pizza lover, you will want to check the Combine out. I am not a lover of pizza, but they have many options available. The slice was a really big portion, crust was thin and crispy, and toppings tasted fresh. I hear they host really good Chiefs tailgate parties as well GO CHIEFS !!!! read more

I was excited to check out this place, my bookclub picked this to be our lunch meeting. It was 8 of us older ladies. Great space and gave us plenty of room. The art was nice to see they were selling local artists work. The food was ok. I could tell they were short staffed. One server for the whole place. The naked wings were done and ok. Nothing special, one lady order the turkey club it comes dry so you must ask for condiments mayo or mustered. The salads the other ladies order were very good and well presented the Ruben was ok she said it missed that nice pickle slice that you get at most deli's read more

The Combine is a great spot for a casual lunch or an evening out with friends. The food was great. I had the Deluxe Grilled Cheese, which included granny smith apples, giving it a tart kick. The prices felt refreshingly affordable. We went at lunchtime and it was surprisingly empty. The Combine offers table service, which may make sense for a busy evening, but for lunch, I would have preferred to order at the counter and bring a number to my table. The Combine is huge - with tall loft-like ceilings, exposed brick walls, and huge windows. It'd make a great event space. It is located in the "Wonder Building," which includes apartments, a coffee shop, and a pinball arcade. I am slightly jealous of the residents that get to have this fun restaurant/bar directly downstairs. read more

My very first visit and business meeting held at the Combine was an absoute delight. My waiter went above and beyond to make me comfortable helping me find toppings for my pizza and, I was so excited they had the toppings I was looking for I ordered double the fun. The ambience of the environment can be social and business at any time of the day or evening as it is versatile and appeasing to anyone looking for an LA Tavern feeling! 100 Stars and shout out to the owner for having the kindness to provide us with option to be comfortable, laugh as loud as I needed and enjoy the awesome details added to make that restaurant a place you recommend and a place you think of first!!!!!!! I am so happy my pastor introduced me to my new favorite pizzeria and restaurant. Excellant location, close the the downtown area and with excellant parking. Win and Win Carla Walker read more

Came here for lunch with a group of about 10. The space was clean and big and not busy at the time. We ordered together as a group and I think that's where things kinda got a little confusing. Our waitress was nice and did her job well. Once all of the food came out and people starting eating, the last meal we were waiting for....they didn't have it, we just wish we would have known sooner than after everyone already started eating and the rest of the food was served. But that was our only issue. Food was fine. If you're coming in alone, I bet it would be a great place to grab some food, eat quickly and get on with your life. read more

The Combine is located in The Wonder {Shops & Flats} which used to be a Wonder Bread Factory. It's a nice open space with large arched windows and exposed brick walls. There are multiple seating options - bar seating, high tops, booths, long tables, and couches - all within view of multiple TVs. It's definitely a great spot to hang out with friends and watch a game. Given the set-up I think it would make sense to be the whole order-at-the-counter + deliver-to-the-number kind of set up. Only having been once, I'm not sure what the SOP is - there are soda machines accessible to customers, and a counter you can order and pay at, but we had someone take our order at the table and check-in occasionally. It was that situation where, when you're done eating, you sit there discussing with your group that maybe the reason you don't have the check yet is because you're supposed to pay at the counter. The Combine primarily has sandwiches and pizza but I ordered the Hummus Plate. I always appreciate this as an option and it was delicious, though the carrots were quite thicc so I had to Bugs Bunny my way through The prices are great - very reasonable for the quality and portion size. Overall, a positive experience and will be returning. read more

We had been wanting to try this place and honestly the food was really good! We each got a slice of pizza that came out super fast. The place was trendy and clean, we ordered a drink from the bartender and it was actually pretty strong the only issue I had was the price of our drinks were $26 for beverages. That was $12 more then our food. I'm not 100% sure that we would order drinks here again But we'll grad a slice of pizza. read more

Excellent pizza!! Hubby and I stopped here for lunch and each had a slice. Word to the wise....we could easily have shared a slice and had plenty to eat. We were on our explore the Secrets of Kansas City outing and always start with a place we haven't eaten lunch yet so that's how we decided upon The Combine. We enjoyed our meals and drinks. Prices were right & the quantity of food was spot on. We weren't worn out with welcoming service. After a brief moment in line we were told we could sit at a table and get fill table service. Unfortunately our nice server was also manning the register for take out orders. Eventually another came to assist, but didn't wear us out with efficiently or conversation. We loved the vibe of the place, enjoyed the diverse patrons. And as I indicated the food & drink were good and the price was right. We will be back. read more

Misleading! My goals is to visit a new place to eat once per week and this week's was the Combine KC, a pizza bar that I had heard things about. Since I was alone, I decided to get a slice as well as a bag of chips, incase it was a small piece. Looking at the menu, it was VERY expensive at $7 (for a slice!?). For the pizza, a bag of Voodoo chips and a pop, it cost $15 with $3 tip. But I was misled. Their definition of a slice would be the equivalent to a small personal pizza at a place like Spin! It was massive and I didn't get a chance to eat the chips, as I was so full. The pizza is typical of what I call the KC style. A mid-rise pizza with a crisp crust and a pillowy top layer. The toppings were extremely fresh and things like onions and the peppers still had a crisp crunch to them, while being fully cooked. The cheese was also very good and unlike New York Style pizza, where the mozzerella is flat and greasy (which I love btw), this cheese is almost ricotta like in it's fluffiness. I barely tasted any grease. While the pizza is a little light on the sauce, it was very good. When people think of pizza, they often think of Minsky's or a joint in Waldo, but this place, in my opinion, has them both down. For KC pizza, this place is top-notch. Just stop calling it a slice! read more

I went to "The Combine" for the first time in the early afternoon on Aprill 11th. I have a great experience. I ordered the lunch special that came with a salad, large slice of pizza and a drink. The ranch salad dressing was really good, the combination pizza I had was great because they were generous with the toppings. I enjoyed the ice tea as well because they topped it off with a slice of lemon. The ambiance was awesome. I could watch "The Masters" and at the same time watch basketball highlights. The service was excellent as well I was asked if I was doing OK several times. I would recommend coming to this place to eat and hang out. read more

as others mentioned, a slice of pizza is huge! equivalent to maybe 3 slices of pizza and cut into small squares for easy handling. loved how packed with toppings the pizza was and surprised that the crust wasn't really soggy either. enjoyed how thin the crust was but didn't like the ends. i ordered the cowtown lovers but switched out the cheese for mushrooms. the payment was a bit weird, my friend and i had finished eating our food and they cleaned up our table without bringing our check to us so we sat there awkwardly for a bit... we ended up going to the cashier to pay even though we dined in. read more

Can't believe this place has been open since November and I'm just now hearing about it ! Super chill and down to earth type or place. You walk in and get to seat yourself and someone comes up. The place had two different seating areas, plus a little ally with pin ball machines. Food: We had a 14 inch "CowTown Lovers" and it was most def enough to feed at least 3. I enjoyed the fact that it was toppings heavy rather than saucy. It was thin crust style, but wasn't like too thin where you don't have any crust. The pizza came out warm and cheese stringy *heart eyes*. The breadsticks were thick, and we had both mozzarella and garlic on it... the garlic was strong! But I didn't mind. Service: The waitress were nice! No complaints. Very attentive and friendly. Cocktails: I got to enjoy the Georgia Mule here! Yummy and good portion of liquor to ginger beer. My friend had the Texas Red Punch and said it was strong , but who doesn't love a strong drink lol This place is beyond reasonable price! We had two alcoholic beverages, 1 soft drink, breadsticks, and a 14 inch pizza for $40 ! You can't beat that for the quality read more

A gigantic slice of pizza for $6.99, love it! My Caesar salad was very fresh, one salad can easily feed 2 to 3 people. This place was cool. Stopped in on a Thursday evening with 2 friends. Very clean, staff greeted us right away. Had a laid back vibe. The bar isn't very big and most of the seats were taken. The dining area was empty but there is another side that had a few people having game night. They were playing spades and dominoes. They had a $5 drink special, it was something with grapefruit vodka and it was good! We each ordered a slice of pizza, they are huge and delicious. I also had a side salad and a friend ordered the kale one. Food and drinks were good, service was pretty good, the crowd was I would say would range from 30s to 60s maybe, but could change daily I'm sure. I think it's cool they had a game night and that they have a place to play pinball and the rooftop patio bar area has a nice view but we couldn't get an answer to when they will be opening it. I see a lot of potential in this place, and I would go back and recommend it! If you do go they close at 9am during the week which I thought was kinda early. On weekends it's 10pm read more

The highway special is my favorite pizza in KC! I can't pinpoint why... the crust, the marinara (I generally am not a fan of marinara but this one hits!), the cheese, or the fresh veggies?! All of it is 10/10. Give it a try if you haven't already. A great way to support local black owned businesses. read more

Went to The Combine for dinner before seeing theater at Crown Center. Love this place with its industrial vibe, upscale laid back setting. Excellent drink menu with lots of speciality cocktails, great beer options and wine, too. Started off with a good glass of Cabernet and side salads for everyone and they are enormous with loads to toppings. So fresh! We had garlic cheese bread and the marinara was chunky and piping hot for dipping. We ended with the Highway Special pizza, 18" and it was enormous, steaming and delicious! The sauce is so good, tons of melted cheese and loaded with toppings. Love the chewy crust that lets you bend the slice and eat it like NYC pizza! This place will welcome you in like you're home.
