They're so new, in fact, they don't actually have a traditional theater space. They partner with the Shaver-Ramsey rug gallery in Cherry Creek and hold their performances in the large room off to the side of the main showroom. The acoustics are wonderful, and the space works really well. The performance we saw was in-the-round, so there wasn't a bad seat in the place. They don't focus on one specific type of theater - you'll find dramas, comedies, even musicals. I suspect that anything you see will be quite good as they get some of the best acting talent in Denver, and do a solid job with their script selection. The CCT also offers refreshments before the show and during intermission, including wine, most of which seemed to just have a suggested "donation" amount. You are allowed to bring drinks into the theater - yay! They find places around the area (Whole Foods, for example) and bring in pretty decent bites. So, there you go - yet another theater in Denver you perhaps never knew was there. Check it out!

Kindertransport was the informal name of a series of rescue efforts which brought thousands of refugee Jewish children to Great Britain from Nazi Germany between 1938 and 1940. Only 10 percent of them ever saw their parents again. Very moving and thought-provoking play about mothers, daughters and the powerful need for reconciliation? Or is it a story of escape and survival, which is captivating and ultimately uplifting? All the actors did a great job performing the characters. Again, Denver just abounds with so many talented actors! It's playing from Oct 30 to Dec 14. Must see play so we never forget about the horrors of this time period. There are 7 survivors from the Kindertransport living in Denver and fortunately 6 were able to be reunited with their parents. After the play there was a question/answer period with Peter Hamburger, one of the Kindertransport survivors that lives in Denver, Diane Gilboa, the Producing Artistic Director and Founder of Theatre Or and some of cast members. Very moving and so wonderful to be able to hear his story and learn more about the production. Plenty of free parking and they also have other small venues inside the main area.

It appears that David, owner and manager of an expensive art-deco restaurant, may have been involved in several illicit activities including kidnapping, rape and murder. Unable to believe that the man she gave her heart to was a killer, and outraged that the police seem to have closed the book on the case, Sara begins her own investigation of the crime and is led deeper and deeper through the urban labyrinth into the contemporary underworld. As the detective story moves forward in time, scenes from the love affair take us back to the moment when Sara and David first met. Finally the plots converge, and Sara finds herself face to face with the person who murdered her beloved. Despite the fact that this was shown in the Cabaret space, which is basically a fancy way of saying the lobby, it really worked. The young woman performing this is such a talented actress. This was an enchanting and hilarious couple of hours. I remembered the actress from her performance in Spamalot. Jenny Mather is a treasure.

Saw Buyer & Cellar, a new comedy by Jonathan Tolins, Directed by Linda Suttle and starring John Hauser in this one man play about a struggling L.A. actor who takes a job working in the basement of a beloved megastar. The result is an outrageous comedy about the perils of fame, the price of friendship, and the oddest of odd jobs. John Hauser is so superb in this role. It was so engaging and I recommend that everyone watch this play at least once-it will not disappoint! It runs from 14 Oct to 11 Nov 2017. The venue is small but has the advantage of making you feel part of the stage. There is a snack bar with an assortment of drinks and goodies.

We were up at the top so we took the elevator. Be patient, it takes a bit. Found our seats and enjoyed a great show. At intermission we did have to scoot down to the second floor for a bathroom break. We were back in time before things go going again. At the end, we listened to the pit orchestra play until they finished and we had much less crowd to get through to leave. Overall a great evening.
