I wanted a custom color that had been made by another company. I talked to Justin who happened to be the most knowledgeable person I have ever worked with in the paint industry.....I would say he could be considered the top "paint nerd" and I mean that with the utmost respect. Justin worked extremely hard on color matching my color and got it to the exact color. After all that I decided to go with a completely different color and I felt bad that I had wasted money on the first gallon. When I told Justin that, he told me that it wasn't a waste and he explained how to use that gallon in my project as a primer....and guess what, it turned out perfect! I am in the first steps of repainting the interior of my house, I went into The Color Wheel thinking I wanted white dove. After speaking with an associate about the unique lighting situation in my house he recommended chantilly lace. I took home a sample and it was the perfect shade for my house, it was exactly what I was looking for. Wow! I came to this store needing help after another Benjamin Moore retailer had incorrectly mixed my desired off white color. I initially painted my cabinets with BM paint purchased from a different store and it was a blue white, very different from the corresponding color card. I brought it back to the original retailer and they determined their paint machine was at fault (and needing repair), they refunded me and sent me elsewhere to get my order fulfilled. I needed up at The paint wheel as they sold BM Aura. Our associate was skilled, knowledgeable and efficient. He answered all my questions regarding repriming vs painting over the wrong shade and got the correct shade. Highly recommend! read more

This store used to carry primarily Benjamin Moore paints, in addition to stains and accessories. Now they have added Ralph Lauren, and a few other brands too. I'm not a professional painter, but I've gone through an awful lot of paint in the past few years - I'm talking a good 40+ gallons, easily. I also happen to be a big fan of Consumer Reports...but for some reason they always rate Behr (home depot) as the best brand of paint. I've used Behr, Sherwin Williams, Olympic, Glidden, and Benjamin Moore. Hands down, BM wins. They have so many beautiful colors, even if you try one out and it's not quite what you want, it still looks damn good on the walls. The other great thing about this store, is it's one of those long-standing locally owned small businesses. The guy that runs this store is very friendly and helpful. It's 2011, I shouldn't have to be excited about it, but this store has never treated me like i was a dumb skinny girl who didn't know her way around a paintbrush. It seemed that every time I went to Sherwin Williams or Dunn Edwards, I get some dumbass questioning why I want to use oil-based paint because "it's such a mess to clean up." Color Wheel can also help you pick out colors if you aren't quite sure what you're doing, and you can get smaller sized cans of paint for samples to test. Yes, the paint here is very expensive. You have 2 choices: 1. buy another brand and hate yourself for cheaping out every time you look at the wall. 2. buy the benjamin moore, enjoy the painting process, and love your walls. Oh yeah and feel that warm glow from supporting a local business! Someday, when I get nice bedroom furniture, I'm going to paint over the shitty Behr paint in there with BM. read more

We have been remodeling our home for the last 10 months. For the beginning stages we were going to ACE & Home Depot for our paint but no one had the knowledge we needed. So we decided to stop by The Color Wheel and I am so glad we did! We had a mix up with some paint, the label said one thing but the paint itself was actually another color (no one can figure out how this happened) but ultimately we needed to get a new 5 gallon bucket of paint to match the correct color. Gabriel has been amazing! Anytime we go in he is extremely patient and understanding. He was willing to do everything he could to fix the issue and get us the correct color of paint we needed. We are in there a few times a month between all our house projects and it's the same high quality professional customer service each time. I own a small business and I order pay for many different places throughout The Valley including pats color wheel I haven't had any problems With any of the other companies in spite of delays or jobs being shut down because a Corona virus or covid-19 except for one pats color wheel in spite of having sign contracts with Pat's color wheel and doing business with them in the past and never having a problem with any kind of payments pats color took it upon themselves that when my job was shut down from Corona virus to go ahead and file a complaint with the register of contractors for delay a payment in spite of being in contact with them about my job being shut down they still filed the complaint and before I even received notice of the complaint I had them paid off 100% The reason why I write this review is so that all small business owners will be aware of how pats color wheel does business in spite of Corona virus and covert 19 they will file Complaints against your company without any notification whatsoever that they're gonna do that or communication of any kind if they do this during the nation's crisis imagine what they will do at any given time just done a dollar beware small businesses beware read more

The Color Wheel is seriously the jam. The customer service is fantastic - helped me figure out the best finishes for both my bathroom and kitchen based on humidity and ease of cleaning (tomato sauce is surprisingly difficult to get out of flat paint, who knew?). The selection of colors is overwhelming at first but they're great at narrowing down the options and get what you need without high pressure sales or apathy (ahem, home depot). I've never had such a great experience with buying something so banal as paint but they made it not suck and were even cheaper than the aforementioned big box. Frustrated with this place. Called in with color names and they wouldn't mix without the color number. Stopped in with color names AND numbers and asked if they could do a color match. They can if you leave overnight. I asked if I could just have the computer tell me what color it thought it would match. Just curious. Told him I was just curious. He refused. Seriously!? I love this store. It is the only store that I know of that carries Benjamin Moore Advance paint as well as 5 gallon BM buckets. BM is hands down the best paint brand and, for some reason, the west coast hasn't realized that yet. Luckily, the guys at The Color Wheel have and for that I am grateful. The customer service of this place is a joke (zero professionalism or accountability). I called and spoke to an employee to verbally verify that they had an epoxy product in stock in the color needed. The man I spoke with said "Yes, we have that ready to go." On my way to leave to get the order, I received another call stating they would have to order it because they don't stock the "standard" color in the store. The excuse I was given is the employee didn't know what he was talking about. I'm not sure anyone down there has a clue at this point!!! So, I placed an order with this so called business, and a week later no order has been filled. No phone call or anything, I was told this when I drove to pick up the order on the day they promised it would be ready at the store in Mesa. When I initially called and asked to pick the product up at their location (Mesa), the employee tried to persuade me to pick up the product for them from their distributor in downtown Phoenix. My only other option was to wait a week. YES, A WEEK TO GET A PRODUCT FOR A JOB WITH A DEADLINE. There are only two possible reasons they can't stock epoxy and polyurethane coatings regularly: 1. Incompetence with their ownership/ordering, or 2. Lack of available capital within the business. They will not allow Veron Coatings to sell directly to us, since we are a so called "Color Wheel" customer, incidentally Veron offers lower prices when purchases are made directly. Why should I pay more to Color Wheel, only to have to pick up the product from Veron myself? I am pleased to say I have found another epoxy supplier (Cohills) that I will use for my business. Terrible business. I wouldn't trust anything that this store promises or recommends. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!! Too bad I had to click a star to get this to post. My true rating is zero stars because of NO CUSTOMER SERVICE OR PROFESSIONALISM. read more
