It's easy to find, the staff is always friendly, and the resources they offer go way beyond just checking out a book. A few things that make this library stand out: ~The "Two-Library" Perk: I love that our membership gives us access to both locations. It makes finding specific titles so much easier! ~Digital & Physical Browsing: Their website is user-friendly for reserving books online, but nothing beats the feeling of physically walking the aisles. It's very well-organized and inviting. ~The Children's Area: As someone who works with children, I am always impressed by how clean this space is. They have great toys available, and it's a wonderful environment for little ones to explore. ~Community Respect: I've noticed the families here are very respectful about keeping noise to a minimum. Of course, "kids will be kids" as they learn and play, but the atmosphere remains peaceful and welcoming. So I absolutely loved Collin my first two years. They have the best prices in the state for…read morecommunity college and for any parents who have kids in high school I highly recommend looking into Collin for an associates. I'm glad I took advantage of that because I was debt free after leaving Collin to continue my bachelors elsewhere. The professors here are great and some of them are also professors at 4 year universities as well (UNT, UTD, and UTA) For example my English professor for 1 and 2 had her PhD in Poetry, and English and was working on her 3rd PhD. There's also great resources that are more intimate than you'll find on a larger campus. They obviously have a library but they have a writing center, math lab, science lab, and other resources available. Now here comes the not so great part that I experienced. My last semester there I was part time with 3 classes and a lab to finish off my associates. I was working full time and figured I'd just use a payment plan to pay for my classes. When the 3rd/final payment due came I paid it online thinking there was no problem. Well apparently I thought wrong. Their computer system glitched and posted my payment to a summer semester. I wasn't even taking summer classes so that was weird. Well unbeknownst to me they dropped me from all my classes and I couldn't even log onto the online server. I felt humiliated and confused. I had to miss my lab to go and deal with it and they re-added me no problem it would just take 24 hours. I was still able to sit in my classes but my professor wouldn't let me make up my lab I had missed. I ended up with a B but could have had an A but hey that's life. Regardless of where you go to school you'll have to deal with all different types of professors. I also saw others complain on here about wait time in advising. You really have to use common sense and know when the busy times of year are. If you wake up and go at 8 am when they open you're golden. I understand not everyone can do that but when you go and check in if it's a 5 hour wait you can leave and they'll send you a text when they're about 20 minutes away from helping you. I will say their advising is slow and their computer system isn't the greatest.

So first things first?…read more What exactly is The UNT New College at Frisco? Think of it as a school where all the big businesses in the area got together, told UNT what kind of things they'd love to see in graduating college kids, and then UNT made programs tailoring to that. Bam. You've got the Frisco campus. No, it's not just a business school, although a heavy focus of the curriculum is put on accounting, finance, things like writing press releases, fund raising, public relations, etc. All sorts of things are taught there that corporations have a huge desire to see more focus on. Another key thing about the Frisco location is that it is predominantly all night classes, so it's tailor made for those already in the work force, maybe those wanting to get a different degree or even further an existing degree. You can still come here and do some basics (I took chemistry and a psychology course here) but they are typically afternoon to evening courses. Lots of the commuter students at the main Denton campus like the Frisco campus because parking is free and PARKING IS FREE. Yeah. It's worth putting twice. Plus they are super freaking friendly here. They always great you with a smile when you walk in, they give you free swag all over the place and I swear...It's like they remember you paid them to go there or something. Amazing. They cater food in all the time for all students and you can rent a laptop, use a printer, get scantrons, all free. Instructors are fantastic. I hope they offer more daytime options for core classes. It's a great facility.
