The breakfast focaccia was delicious - it had cheese, chili crisp, and a hard boiled egg inside. We also added some bacon. I really liked this and it was great to split for a light breakfast snack. They also have other breakfast items and lunch food. There are bookshelves full of used books for sale. The space seems very community-forward and I think I'd be a regular here if I lived nearby.

They are also a beer & wine shop retail shop. There are several tables both inside and out to sit and read or socialize. It was a really pleasant atmosphere in the middle of the day. They have shelves of used books for $4.99, alphabetical by author. I found one to purchase. I came back with granddaughter for breakfast, but I wished we had gone to a different place, more of a full service breakfast joint. I had a breakfast wrap and a hot coffee. It was pretty good. The staff were okay, not super friendly.

Our server brought all three food dishes out at the same time, which we could not even fit on the small table without taking off some things to put on the bench next to me. The soup was tasty, but mostly large cubes of bread with practically no cheese at all. The Croque Madame had no discernible cheese on it at all. The worst part: we each requested a coffee refill (one was never offered), and our server poured half of my friend's topped up coffee directly from her cup into my cup! I was so shocked that I was speechless. To top off this incredible faux pas, she split the check into two without asking, and I was treating my friend. Instead of bringing a new check as I requested, she had me sign her tablet that just showed the total, with no breakout, had me fill in her tip, and then walked away with neither asking me if I wanted a receipt, which of course I did, nor providing me with one. I didn't see anything out of the norm or specialties right off the bat so I asked for her input. I requested "something a little sweet to break up the monotony of my typical plain lattes but I don't like too sweet." She recommended a couple things : maple or honey. I chose honey and she asked if I'd like a little cinnamon. This woman understood the assignment! Dang good latte! The shop is cute, services alcohol, and sells retain bottles (THC options too!)

Some (not the parents :-) wanted something more mellowing :-). Enter Higher Gravity on Summit Parkway. They have a full menu of (soft) coffees and teas, a full bar, and a "bottle store" of more spirited beverages. The coffee was strong and smooth, some with dairy, some with oat milk! Almond and coconut "milks" were also available. Espresso drinks, too. Nice! They made me a lovely, even smoother, black coffee with bourbon to sip. Another got an ice-cold Weldwerks Orange Creamsicle sour, flavored true to its name. Street parking is a little sparse, but several spaces right in front are for takeout, so we found a spot easily. There are some seats out front, and the playground is right across the street with several picnic tables outside of the kids-space. Perfect for all our wants and needs, including responsible alcohol-free childcare.
