Tonight is wife's birthday dinner. Jessica is the perfect…read morefriendly hostess. Cassandra is our courteous server. The restaurant looks so much nicer since last time we visited. More booths and different lighting has made a noticeable improvement, though I liked it fine, already. I ordered the special tonight which is a "half" house salad which was big and delicious with blue cheese dressing, 8 oz sirloin cooked medium pink (more like medium rare red), baked potato which was fine with butter and sour cream, and a chocolate cake, which we took home and ate with a scoop of ice cream. The cake was great. I brought half of my steak and potato home to eat another day for breakfast with some eggs. Wife ordered Chicken tenders with fries. These are the biggest, tastiest tenders anywhere. You wont go wrong ordering chicken tenders here. She brought half of her meal home also. Portions make the price right. We started off with Fireman's Shrimp, as we usually do. It is goooood with the Asian dressing on Slaw. See photos and video. I really like the old-time ambiance in this historic establishment and Logan runs a tight ship, very professional and cordial. There was a good crowd in the dining room on a Thursday evening. Outside had a big crowd enjoying the weather and live music. The 1894 Lodge is a GEM in little Ole New Washington. There is also other dining areas and a bar or 2 including the upstairs. Come check it out.

The pork had been so over cooked it was hard to cut. The side of mashed potatoes and gravy were good. We had $1 wings as an appetizer. The wings were good also. As always, our server did a great job taking care of us.

They carry a slew of other dairy products such as cheese and butter. Flavors of ice cream vary as well as store hours based on the season. I believe their facebook page gives the most reliable source for hours, typically 11-9 through the summer. Staff is always super friendly, typically you'll just see Mrs. Rowlett making and serving ice cream while her brother is busy with the various cheeses and butter. Prices are sure to not break the bank and will certainly yield more than a few smiling faces indulging in such wonderful products. Craving more than a scoop or two? Well they've got half gallons ready to go home with you currently priced $12/each. My kids say Rowlett's is the best and I wholeheartedly agree!

I promise you, you've never tasted anything close to the coffee ice cream at Rowlett's Milkhouse Creamery. You'll thank me later. I took advantage of this beautiful fall day to drive to Campbellsvirg in Henry County and see this place for myself. Our office gets special treats on birthdays and I got to enjoy the coffee ice cream and I was in love. The texture was like silk on your tongue. The hint of coffee was just enough to fit through the sweetness to make it out of this world divine!!!!! So I'll shut my piehole about the coffee ice cream and talk about the other things Rowlett's has to offer. They have a large variety of cheeses, ice creams, ice creams and butter. I was looking forward to buying some butter for the banana bread I'm getting ready to make; however, they were sold out. Oh well, i'll have to make another trip there I guess. This business is locally owned by brother and sister Terry and Sharon Rowlett. I had the pleasure of meeting Sharon when I visited today and she was as nice as she could be. This is most definitely worth the drive and a great way to support local business. Y'all gotta make the trip. You won't regret it.
