A fantastic family run business. We did Mad Hatter and 1893. Both had challenging puzzles and great immersion. Couldn't have asked for a better escape room experience. Went for the first time and completed The Queso Experience. It was a lot of fun and pretty challenging for four amateurs. We did finish but it was close. We definitely used all of our hints and still took us awhile. Great place. Lots of fun. Would definitely recommend it. read more

We have been to the clue room numerous times, it's one of our favorites, usually. This trip was a little different. They didn't greet us as they normally do, the lady just put us in the room and kinda gave us a little story of what we needed to accomplish and then went on her way. It was very impersonal and quick. After we escaped they hurried us to take a photo with my camera but didn't take one for their personal use and I don't see us on their website photos. It just wasn't the same feel as the other visits. We did the V room, got out in pretty good time, it is a fun room. read more

We have a great birthday celebration on my last anniversary of my 2023 trip around the sun. We had a collection of folks that hadn't done an escape room before so selected an easy/intermediate one to try and were glad we did. Our hint... Take advantage of the hints (you get 10 and we used them all) so that you don't get overly frustrated when you're not making any progress. The Clue Room was so fun! We did the Bootlegger room with 2 adults & 1 child. It was listed as intermediate, which is ok because we've done several escape rooms. The puzzles were challenging in a good way! We were pleasantly surprised by a few of them. We didn't complete it, but got so close. We are definitely going back to play more. read more

I had the pleasure of visiting the Clue Room in Centennial for a friend's birthday party. I must say that the decor and attention to detail was outstanding in the room that we were in. Layer that with the fact that these folks have to reset a room afterwards --- color me impressed. As for the game itself --- it was difficult. I have visited many escape/clue rooms in through out the US and this one was extremely complex even for those with a degree in 'puzzles.' Luckily we received many hints -- so there maybe a chance for the select few. TIP: Make sure you sign up for the appropriate difficultly level to ensure you and your party will have fun. read more

Now that are kids are getting a bit older we've taken them to an Escape room and they really enjoyed it. So we decided to come to the Clue Room on Sunday afternoon with them. The experience was lacking to say the least. It was 4pm and we were the only people in the place. They took us to the room and asked if we've ever done an escape room. Answered yes and that we've done one there a few years back. The response was "great" any questions if not you can read your story line and begin. It seemed super rushed, normally they'll go over the story line and show you how the locks work, none of that this time around. He shut the door and the clock started. The room we picked was a beginner room, don't recall the name of it but the story was pretty weak without much of a point to it. Something about a professional female thief. The room and clue were not that easy, we had to get a couple hints right off the bat. Even then some of the clue and materials were a bit lacking, at least for a beginner room. We almost threw in the towel with 20 minutes to go Anyway our time elapsed. The lady working there came in, asked if we had any questions, if not let's get your pic before we go. Got our picture taken and headed to our car. Well she was sure ready to go home for the day, I noticed she was out the door right behind us and in her car leaving just as we were. If deciding to do an escape room, this place is a must. We came to visit from Vegas and had some time and decided to do an escape room with our nephew. They allowed us to participate without a reservation on a walking basis, and we had an hour to save Denver. The plot, room, and puzzles were great. Just so you know my escape room experience, I've done over 70 rooms and have only not succeeded in 3. This was the worst experience at any business I've ever had. I've actually never left a review before for anything but I had such a bad taste in my mouth after going here I felt I had to. Up until today, I rated this place in my top five favorite escape rooms in the Denver area. I've done every room but 1 here and the gentleman who owns the place has always be an absolute delight. Today we met the female owner who doesn't care. Don't look her in the eyes. We arrived 4 min late. 4. That is 100% our fault and we knew based on placing the reservation that the timer was going to start already. No biggie. The problem was how the business handled it. I walked in the door and the girl working the counter didn't even say hi. She said, "what is the first name?". I told her Julie and she started walking fast pace down the hallway motioning for us to follow in a panic. She asked have we done escape rooms before. I barely got through saying the words "a bunch" before she cut me off and talked over me saying, "story is on the door- start with the backpack" and closed the door. Like... what the heck? I spent the first 10 minutes completely upset on how she just treated us and we started the room with an absolute panicked feeling for coming 4 min late. The room ended and we didn't finish which was totally fine. The game itself was a little clunky and had a bunch of red herrings- not my style but to each there own. The moment the time was up, the girl came in the room and was immediately rushing us out. She asked how we liked it and I told her the room was ok but we really didn't enjoy our experience here today. She was asking why and we told her that she rushed us into the room, we had no idea what the back story was, we started the room in a panicked mentality due to her rushing us ... and then the female owner came over. She wasn't even listening to us and just kept cutting us off and assuming what our problem was. She was very argumentative and combative. She kept point out that the time started when our start time was suppose to be. I told her I didn't care about the time starting. She kept saying most places would cancel your game if you get there late. I told her that of all the places I've ever been, I've never had my game cancel or any sort of crazy penalty. I have had time docked and I wasn't upset about it. When she let me explain why I was upset, I told her that we were thrown into the room in a panic and started with no information or story. She said that I've done a bunch of rooms and should be able to figure it out. I told her that wasn't the point and she didn't get it. She kept insisting that we exit the room because she needed to reset it because there was a group that was coming to do the room soon (which when we check was actually starting in 2 hours). We finally got to speak to the gentleman owner and he recognized us since we had been there so many times. He attempted to talk to us and the female owner kept rushing him to move on as if we were wasting their time. We talked to them for a grand total of 6 min collectively after the room ended. I'm sorry that you can't spare 6 min for a numerous repeat customer. It really was a shame. I tried to explain to them that the time penalty wasn't the issue. If they had just took the 20 seconds to say, "Hey guys. Your time has started since you're running a little behind. Would you like the game/story explanation or would you like to just get started?" I would not have had a bad experience. If afterwards when we were trying to explain that exact thing they said, "Sorry about that. We will try to keep that in mind for future clients" I would have walked out feeling blah but not upset. The long and short of it is this was once a fun, creative place to come to. Now it's runs like a squeaky, judgmental machine that can't even see its faults. I have always enjoyed coming here, recommend it to people, and looked at its page for new rooms with excitement but today the female owner has beat the excitement out of me. The only way I'd ever come back is if she gave me and the the members of my party a personal apology or she became a silent owner. read more

We came here for a date night and we asked for the clues to get started then after we got it we would be doing the activity then while doing it they would give us the answer on the tv without asking for it! This place was just okay. The clues and theme were both fine enough. But the customer service was subpar. We arrived at least 5 minutes before our start time. When we asked to use the restroom before we started (a perfectly reasonable request before being locked in a room for an hour), the staff person insisted on starting our clock first. Hello, excuse me?? That doesn't make any sense, and is awfully poor customer service. Even if we had arrived a few minutes late, using the restroom would have still been a reasonable request. When so many escape room businesses can offer similar themes and the same type of clues, puzzles, etc., customer service can truly separate them and dictate which ones people choose to spend the hard-earned money on. It's just unfortunate that something so simple as being friendly and understanding of a basic request has to take away from what was otherwise a pretty fun escape room. read more

I had a blast! I had never tried a clue or escape room, but it's all about keeping an open and curious mind and encouraging your team. The event took an hour and good critical thinking and problem solving skills. When you get stumped they give you clues as each room is monitored by the guide. Disappointed we have gone to multiple rooms here to support local businesses and we were two minutes late and they started the clock. There was no one there while we were there so it's disappointing. Even if someone was booked after us, 25-30 minutes is plenty of time to disinfect and reset the room. read more

We had heard about escape rooms and had wanted to try one. My stepson's 17th birthday was coming up so we decided to book a whole room (6 slots) and make it a birthday celebration activity. Honestly we chose the Clue Room based on location (it is very close to our house) and the good Yelp reviews didn't hurt either. Here is the run down: - Location: Near Arapahoe and Quebec in an office building (which I didn't realize and is good to know when you go hunting for the address). Not much signage that say Clue Room (we only saw a yard sign with the name, which you don't see unless you are basically in the building). - Pricing/Booking: Cost was $28/pp and it seemed right inline with other escape rooms. I thought it was fair based on what I researched. Also, note that if you don't book the whole room, you might be in there with strangers. You can book all online and they lay out all the waivers and rules when you book. - The Room: We did the 1893 World's Fair room. We learned when we did the briefing (before going in) that it is their hardest room and nobody has solved in the time allowed. It is a room filled with riddles, puzzles and lots and lots of combo locks to unlock more clues. They do watch you via a camera and you can ask for help. That was our biggest mistake, we tried for way too long before getting a hint. It was a really hard room and you probably can't finish it without hints (in an hour). I won't tell you any details of the room (so not to spoil), but it was tight with 6 people in it and it most definitely about brain power and low tech, which I loved. - Misc: They do give you a briefing before you go in. You stage your group in a conference room before going in the room. They lock up all cell phones and purses in a lock box (that goes in the room with you) so that you can't use outside tech. Also, if other groups are there you might hear them through the walls if they are loud. Overall, it was really really fun! It is hard to please 17 year old boys and they all said it was a lot of fun. My hubby and I loved it so much we are planning on doing it again (just the adults!). I highly recommend. read more

Do NOT give them your business. We brought our Girl Scout troop here (8 & 9 year olds). I had called a week ahead of time and verified the girls would be split into two groups, but both groups would be doing the same Mad Hatter themed (entry level) room. I was assured they would be. Fast forward to day of and each group was given a room that was NOT the theme we had booked. One of the girls was in tears because she was afraid of the theming. When I spoke with the kid running it he had no help to give. I got the owner on the phone, who I had spoken with when I booked, and she basically told me we were out of luck and denied telling me we could have the same themed room. Luckily, the kid running it was able to run back and reset the correct Mad Hatter room and so half my scouts were able to have that room. During the game, they kept throwing up clues on the screen when we didn't ask for them and as soon as we finished they rushed us out so they could close up. I spoke to the other leader who had taken the group thru the other room and she said it was insanely hard for the girls and she had to do most of it with the clues from the tv screen. Turns out that room was rated as intermediate.... For 8 year old girls. So thanks for a crappy experience and blowing thru a bunch of our troop funds! read more

My husband and I went for his birthday, and had a blast! The owners are a very friendly, helpful couple, and they did such an amazing job putting this together. I have to say, I was a little nervous because things like this have the potential to be cheesy, but this experience was engaging, dynamic, and suspenseful... very unique too! A couple of tips: - Yes, the location is inside of an office building-- just go inside and head upstairs. - We were a group of two, and although we solved the puzzle, between just the two of us, time became a big factor. A slightly larger group would be even better. - EXCELLENT team-building exercise, but be conscientious of the individuals you put together because the suspense can lead to stress, which could lead to anger... haha - Call them before booking-- I got an excellent deal by talking to them first My husband's only suggestion is that they reward you if you escape with a nice glass of Scotch. ;-) We can't wait to go back!!!! read more

This is the second time I have gone to the clue room and had a bad experience with friends. The first time we felt like the room was poorly themed/decorated and that the puzzles did not have sufficient clues to help you solve it. Regardless, we went again, to see if the rooms have been updated. Customer service sets escape rooms apart. When we got to the room, they left one of the cabinets (that was supposed to be one of the last steps) unlocked!! Thus, at one point in the game we wasted 5-10 minutes finding clues to unlock the cabinet that was already unlocked. In the cabinet, there is a dollhouse you have to look through and my friend and I could have sworn there was a mirror that was misplaced/not reset correctly. It was so frustrating, that for the first time EVER (mind you, I have done 10+ escape rooms) we left the room to find someone to get help. They seemed very frustrated that we left the room and blew us off by just giving us the answer to the clue. There was another "game" in the room which had VERY weak magnets and made the puzzle nearly impossible to complete without the clues we were given. Now I have been to some HARD escape rooms, but weak magnets doesn't make the game tricky, it makes it frustrating and annoying. Finally, when the game was over, we nicely explained to her our frustration with the room not being set up correctly and we didn't even get an apology. In fact all she said was "we will consider it for future games". Consider it?! Never going back. For $30 a person there are MUCH better escape rooms in Denver (and those that have multiple rooms in one game). read more

Wonderful Team Building Event for our Corporate Trade Compliance Managers meeting! The staff was really great to work with and was able to accommodate our team request of 7 with no problem (their suggestion is 2-6), though only 6 of us actually attended the event. Due to an unforeseen issue at our hotel, we were late by about 45 min, I simply called them up and explained the situation, and they said it was not problem at all. It is great when you can receive customer service as wonderful as this anywhere you go. Now the room itself was fantastic! It allows for each person on our team to really shine and show our strengths with the various puzzles and clues. You do get a short briefing before you go into the room on what it is about if you have not done something like this. They explain it is an "escape the room" type scenario. Though you are not actually locked in the room (there is just an alarm on the door that sounds if you open it before you solve all the puzzles). Just before you go in, they give you a short story on the background of the room, to kind of get you in the mindset. :) I cannot say enough about this wonder team building adventure that we took and have already recommended this place to our corporate offices in case other teams are looking for a great outing. read more

We had a few more people in our room than they normally suggest, but it was still an interesting experience. After doing over 20 escape rooms across the state in multiple different locations, including one of their other rooms here with a MISERABLE experience I gave them the benefit of the doubt and thought I just had a bad day or something, I tried again with the same result, these rooms are almost unsolvable, multiple aspects of the room were broken, not to description, and nowhere near linear, we literally got ANSWERS not CLUES on pretty much every single puzzle, it was the most unenjoyable experience, I don't mean to talk bad, I REALLY WANTED TO BE WRONG AND HAVE A GOOD TIME but it really was just an awful time and I would not recommend it to anyone. read more

Staff was nice but we entered the room and it was not set up and the last party's information and all the clues were open so it was not a surprise for us. It really ruined the whole experience. We had to then wait until the room was cleaned and set up which made us lose 10 minutes of our time and the staff had to rush through the opening explanation. We booked a room that allowed 8 people thinking it was big enough "1893", we were so cramped in the room only half of us could participate and we were literally tripping over each other. This room should only be for 4. So for half of us it was no fun, didn't get to experience the room and then we got kicked out at the end, even though they were not ready at the beginning. Decided to come here when looking for an activity to do together as a group on a gloomy day. We were able to book in advance a few hours before our time slot. We chose the Mad Hatter room. Worked for the 4 of us but any more people and it would have been too crowded. Once we got into the room and the clock started, it took us a bit to figure out where to start but you can get 8 (I think) clues if you're stuck which we ended up using when we got to a dead end. We've been to a ton of escape rooms, some have been amazing, some have been meh, and some are middle of the road. This is probably one of the better rooms we went to. We were scheduled in a room with teenagers, but luckily they have a policy where minors can't be in a room with adults, one which the teenagers didn't read, so they had to choose another room. Score for us. The people were really nice. We will definitely go again. read more
